Sunny summer day outside and when arrived the room temperature was warm.
Rose wine was not too cold.
Food was good.
Perfect place to eat before going to see Wicked at the Gershwin. The entree I wanted had an ingredient that I am allergic to. The chef prepared me a one of a kind creation that was fantastic, and it cost less than the one I originally wanted! Beautiful, fresh, calm + great food
and fantastic service = 5 stars.
Such a find! Love this place
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff attentive.. The food delicious. We were there pre theater
and did not feel rushed. My party of 4 each had a delicious dinner, and were all happy.
Food was very good but waiters and maître d’ added nothing to the experience. Drab and businesslike. I know some may think Food is what counts but there are other things that make you want to return. Too many restaurants in NYC.
Wonderful experience. Will be back
Long wait between courses.
Calamari soggy. Branzino great.
Visiting from Illinois. Food was good and service was also very good. Enjoyed our experience.
Delicious food. Wait staff a bit indifferent somewhat attentive.
Disappointed it was so humid out that evening. Wanted to eat outside. Nonetheless. Experience there was good. Food and service very good.
Place was great. Went for first date and both of us liked it. Asked waitress for food recommendation and she provided one that hit the spot.
Solid option in the theater district. Good service. Will get you out on time.
Wonderful food and a very nice menu. Our server was great, considerate, helpful and respectful. I would definitely go back.
Service was top notch! We were treated very well. The manager let us sample wines and gave us a shot of limoncello on the house after our meal. The food was excellent. I liked that we were able to sit outside directly next door to the theater where we were attending a show. We were not rushed at all and were able to enjoy the outdoors while waiting for our show to start. I highly recommend!
Very competent service from long-tenured waiters. Very efficient kitchen (we were in and out in 60 minutes). But, the gnocchi was pasty, bread was day-old, lamb chops uninspiring, sautéd spinach lacked citrus notes, and so forth. The sorbet was quite good though. Eat here if time is the #1 issue that night (your need a guaranteed 60 min turnaround due to theatre tickets for example), or you want to be reminded of how no-nonsense, sure-footed service used to be like. But not for the food.
The staff was friendly and had great recommendations about the food on the menu including the most popular dishes. Bartender made great drinks and turned me on to a new drink the aperol spritzer. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent!! Food was amazing and the service was impeccable! Highly recommend.
Good enough. Food was fine - nothing special. The bread was disappointing!!! I never realized how important good bread is at a restaurant until this meal. Dessert was really good, though. Location was convenient to the theater.
First broadway show for my 7 year old
Azalea was pretty quiet for a Sunday night but the food was very good and service as well. We had the spaghetti con polpetto (large meatball) which was really great and the carbonara which is good but not outstanding. I would say the restaurant feels a little dated and could use some refreshing but still a solid choice in the area.
Perfect pre-theater meal. Tables are spaced much more generously than other restaurants in the area. Service was great, food was exceptional. There is also a lovely outdoor dining area. Make sure to sit there on a nice day.
My sister came into the city for an event at Radio City. The weather was horrible, with all the rain. Train delays, etc. I had to call twice to let them know we were still coming. Each time, they were pleasant and understanding. Once we arrived we were seated and attended to very quickly. Drinks were dynamite! Calamari for an appetizer was outstanding and our main entrees hit a home run. A bit pricey, but worth it. My second time there and I’d definitely go back and recommend it!!!
Large restaurant but we went late so it was empty ish. Food was delicious and service was excellent. I really enjoyed it and would go again !
However, this restaurant did not grant me any open table points as indicated upon making the reservation! They are misleading!
My second time at this restaurant. Both times the food and service were outstanding. It’s a small restaurant but the spacing between tables is good. Would definitely recommend!!
We were in New York for a week of sightseeing and eating. Came across this Italian restaurant as we were looking for places close to our hotel(Novetel) as we enjoy walking to dine.
The wait staff were friendly and helpful which is always a plus in New York!
The food was delicious and the wine selection great.
Would definitely visit again.
Excellent all the way around! Delicious food, attentive but not intrusive service, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
A great place for that part of town. Nice outside in good weather. Host and server fabulous
Menu is extensive. Food is good. We had mozzarella and tomato and eggplant app which was very good
Spaghetti with clams was ok. Needed more clams.
Good place for pre theater dinner . Food was good and well priced.
the overall ambiance of this restaurant was wonderful and the food was simply divine. i really enjoyed the kind servers, although they became hard to flag down when service picked up, which is understandable. overall a wonderful pre-show experience!
My guests arrived late (6pm for 5:30 reservation) and we had tickets to a 7pm show. I asked the waiter if we’d have enough time he said yes if we ordered any pasta dishes or certain fish dishes. We all ordered the branzino. It cam out within minutes of ordering and was delicious and cooked to perfection. My guests each had a glass of wine and we were done with time to spare to get to the show. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We went to see the CHER show and had dinner afterwards at Azalea. Exceptional food; enjoyed our experience.
the G&T’s did not disappoint! Great salmon and stuffed chicken.
Nice atmosphere, very good food, excellent service. Good prefix too.
The restaurant was wonderful. Food was cooked to perfection. Great location for the play Wicked since it is right next door. We were very pleased with dinner and the service
We had a nice table outside pre theater. The food was fine but not great. It was a little overpriced fir what we received. It is convenient before going to a show.
Very good restaurant in the theater district where many of the restaurants are tourist traps. As a native New Yorker I would return and would recommend Wonderful Pasta dishes .
The service was great and very quick as we had a show to make. The food, however, was okay, nothing really special. A bit pricey for the quality, but good for a quick meal.
Azalea is our new find in the theater district. The food is very good but he service is exceptional. we were a very large group of 16 last week. The wait staff was attentive. Our meal was delicious and relaxed and they got us out of the restaurant in plenty of time to make our show
Azalea is not a restaurant I would consider for anything other than pre-theater, but for that limited purpose it is totally fine. The staff is friendly and the room is spacious and well lighted. I wouldn't say that it has great ambience but it is quiet enough for conversation. We were seated immediately even with our party incomplete. Service was prompt. You will not miss your curtain. We started with calamari (very nicely done, not overly breaded or oily) and spinach salad (mediocre) and then butternut squash ravioli (very good) and veal scallopini (decent). With 3 glasses of wine, an excellent espresso, tax and tip we spent $60 pp. The theater district is deficient in reliable, reasonably priced and efficient pre-theater restaurants so you should consider Azalea because it checks all these boxes.
