Had a wonderful time and food was delicious. Great atmosphere very energetic.
Food is excellent and the service has slacked off a little bit definitely too loud tables are too small not as good as it used to be
Good food. Not very entertaining cooks. Failed to refill the yum yum sauce. Would definitely go again. The ambiance wasn’t that great. The place could probably use a makeover.
Had a reservation and when we arrived still had to wait about 30 min to be seated, seemed as the portion was less than most restaurants .
This was amazing they showed me a wonderful time
Was not pleased that I had a 7:30 pm reservation and did not get seated until 8 pm. Also, missed the couch that you had in the waiting area, wasn't too happy that my 93 yr old grandmother had to stand for that 1/2 hr while we waited for a table. And we had a small issue with the waitress who kept disappearing. However, none of the issues will stop me from coming back!!!
We go to this Benihana about once per month and this time was hands down the best chef that we have gotten, Sergio! The food was excellent, the best we had ever gotten from there and for once we had not issues with out receipts or using my birthday coupon!
Shiftn Steel Sport Riderz love Benihana. It's an excellent dining experience.
You're good to go if you get decent table mates. We had to request new plates as plates on table were dirty.
I love the service there!
Service wasn’t great, but the food was!
I took my 11 year old daughter here for her birthday. We all had a wonderful time. It was 14 our us, and the service was great. Friendly and attentitive staff. Thanks for a perfect outting!!!
They were very busy this night and they rushed throughout in order to turn the table quickly for more guests. Food was very good as usual. Service was attentive.
Very nice experience! Tasty food, but a little pricey...definitely a date place!
We love Benihana for birthdays! I’m sad that they’ve changed one of the dipping sauces, and that they no longer take a souvenir photo, but I’m sure we’ll return regardless.
The service starting with the hostess was terrible. The hostess was not inviting at all she made it seem like people were a bother when asking her questions. I had a 7:30 reservation and she took others with later reservations before my party. Once seated everyone but me and my guest recieved menus and another guest at the table was nice enough to offer their menu. I ordered shrimp fried rice as my rice of choice and the chef acted like it was a foreign object. He proceeded to cook the fried rice and placed 4 pieces of shrimp on top. He questioned our waiter about the rice as if I was lying and the waiter shrugged it off and walked away. The staff at this establishment needs to be re-evaluated but the service was poor.
Fun for the whole family as a special occasion dinner. Good value. Nice kids menu.
I never got a chance to eat. The service was horrible. It took forever to be seated so we just left. There were parties before us sitting at the bar and when we thought we were about to be seated people from the bar heard the hostess and then reminded her they were waiting before us. Very unorganized!
Great meal as expected.
I’m always weary of table mates as I’ve had a bad experience in the past at another establishment. Our table mates were cool and to themselves. 😊
Entertaining and fun as the chef had mastered all his tricks. Only disappointment, NO green tea ice cream.
We used to go to Benihana for special occasions and made reservations for my father's birthday. We had a 6:15pm reservation and were seated right away. We received drinks and appetizers quickly, however, the chef did not come until closer to 7:20pm. The food quality was not nearly as good as it used to be - the chicken was rubbery, the steak was dry, the scallops were inedible. The restaurant felt dirty and disorganized. On top of it all, we had a very expensive bill. It was a really disappointing experience.
Food had no flavor and cook was not energetic. Then the waitress was slow The bus boy was cleaning the table taking our stuff before we go dessert and the check. He was setting the table for the next group before we were done
Had a great time out . Enjoyed the sake! Will definitely visit again.
Serviré very nada Web has a resevation at 7:15 we wa it 😥for 2 hours
Arrived on time with my entire party for my 7pm reservation. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. This has happened the last few times I have gone there. It shows poor management. I have been going at least 4-5 times a year for several decades. The experience has definitely declined in the plast year. I don’t know if I will be returning.
Disclaimer: Benihana is my all-time, ultimate favorite restaurant of all time, which is why it pains me to write a review that's anything less than 5-stars. On this visit, however, we had the worst chef that I've ever had in my 50+ visits to Benihana, which resulted in slow service, not great food and not the best experience. In addition, replacing Mustard Sauce with "Yum Yum Sauce" is a horrible decision, which I assume is a global mandate and out of the control of the Bethesda location, but the mustard sauce is incredible and Yum Yum Sauce is gross. As a huge Benihana fan, I will be back, but this experience was so far below expectations.
My kids like going here as they think it’s fun. I think the food is mediocre and the service is not great generally. Once the chef comes we rarely see a server again so getting fresh drinks etc can be tricky. Not great value for money all in all.
We paid $200 for 2 adults and 4 kids which is a lot, I think.
Love the show from the chef! Great for groups, quiet atmosphere, lots of food.
We were charged for items without being told. When we got our receipt we found that we were charged for chicken fried rice but were never told we would be charged for this. Also the Emperors Feast was far from a feast.....
Service was very slow (not busy) and for the amount they charge you, the portions size are very small. This was my second visit to this restaurant and will not be returning again.
Saturday night and we waited over 30min with a reservation. Had to complain three times before we finally got seated while other people walked in and were seated right away. No apology or attempt to recover the situation.
We love going to Benihana but this time the food quality wasn’t that great. The chicken was tough and the scallops seemed a little off.
I took out of town family out for a fun dinner and with improved scores I ventured back here after years. Sadly it was a poor choice.
While the location is nice the staff leaves much to be desired. We had a 730 reservation and were simply told we would be seated shortly and directed to the bar, 6year old and all. Once seated our server seemed frazzled. He did bring us all water right away but then forgot several things. The missing kids chopsticks after his food was delivered did not go over well and we never got anything to write with for the kids menu. But the server did seem to be running constantly.
However the cook was the biggest issue. He spoke to half the table and several people at another table for most of our meal in Spanish. After having our soup and salad while he half heartedly tried to entertain while talking primarily with the other party in Spanish, We were served the shrimp, fried rice and zucchini. It appeared after the food was brought out that he asked the waiter for more steak and a really scrap like piece of steak was added as well as the stuff to make shrimp fried rice. It looked like the scrap piece was substituted for one of our steaks. Our steaks were never seasoned at all and our mushrooms served with them were undercooked. The other party at the table requested their meat well done so it was seasoned and their mushrooms appeared cooked.
The shrimp fried rice was then prepared and packaged to go for people at the next table before we were served the chicken or onions of our meal. The cooking was so spread out that unless you let everything get cold you couldn’t enjoy it all together.
Then we waited for the waiter who reminded us that our meal came with ice cream. I was frustrated enough to just want the check.
Food cold, chef and service slow.
I love that yum yum sauce they had
Bday celebration. No one on the front, phone kept ringing. Finally got seated. Food was great except my scallops were over cooked, perhaps because they were cut in half so cooking time should have been adjusted.
I’m from out of town and I love hibachi and I have always wanted to try Benihana. I was disappointed, the cook cooked everything one at a time and it took forever to get the complete meal. I have had better in Richmond.
Service this time around was terrible. We had to find the waiter then had to wait 20 mins for the bill.
Restaurant was super busy when we arrived on time for our reservation. We had to wait maybe 10 minutes. The restaurant was super busy and quite smoky. It was another 30 minutes before we got waters and could order. Our waiter was super busy all over the place but rarely came by to see us. It took a long long time before our chef arrived and he couldn’t start because the chef at the opposite table was blocking access and didn’t move his cart. Our chef was great, attentive. The food was great but I wouldn’t go there again on a Saturday night.
Way to loud!!!
