Food was amazing!
The food was very bland. The chicken and waffles were the worst I’ve ever had
I love BK9’s brunch! We came for a friend’s birthday. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I had the fish and grits (pictured) served with a creole sauce that was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend has the oxtail hash, his go to brunch item at BK9. Our table did bottomless bellinis and sampled a few cocktails too. I had my fave, the sorrel mojito, which is to die for!
food is awful and the service was very poor.
Mad a reservation and had to wait 30minutes.
Will never visit again.
Had such a great time here! Food was so so so good! Drinks were on point! Service was very efficient and everyone there was super nice! Would def recommend! And will certainly be coming back!
I always thoroughly enjoy my visits to BK9. Food is always great. Service is friendly and non-assuming. Atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Overall, BK9 continues to impress.
It was our anniversary and we were having a late lunch, just the two of us. We got the impression that we were interrupting the wait person’s smoking break in that we got an indifferent reception and no cordiality during our time in the restaurant. We were the only patrons between 1:15 and 2:15 on a holiday Friday. Then when we got the bill we were shocked to see the 20% gratuity automatically added. What an insult. The food was tasty, but we don’t plan to return.
Had dinner with the family in a Wednesday before the game and only chose the venue due to its close proximity to the Barclays. I couldn’t have chosen better. Everyone raved about their meal and the server was pleasant, patient and very accommodating. The family enjoyed it so much, my brother came back 2 days later to bring his wife for their 21st wedding anniversary dinner.
Very fun and friendly neighborhood spot with tasty food. Great bartenders, nice music. Fast and efficient service gets you out to Barclays Center in time for your event.
The food was good but the overall service was terrible. I made a reservation for no reason because my party ended up waiting for over an hour for a table. Then the waitress was very rude and slow. Even to simply ask a question i was dismissed several times. I can handle a busy day at a restaurant especially because I’ve visited times before under the same busy conditions. It’s typically but I felt the way the staff handled it could have been better.
The restaurant was a bit loud as it was Sunday evening and folk inside was into the football game and there a DJ pushing out tunes. Seating in the back was a bit quieter, and while service could have been a mite bit better, the food was quite tasty and well-seasoned with Carribean spicee and love.
Wouldn't recommend because of the service and food. A hair was in my food, it was warm on the top but cold at the bottom. Even desert wasn't good, red velvet cake tasted like refrigerator. Maybe wrap it or put it in a container.
The waitress rarely checked and even had to track her down to complain about the hair in my oxtail.
Great space. Our waitress was super friendly and the owner was very nice as well. We went for brunch before an Islanders game. The brunch menu was very diverse with options anyone would love to choose from. We both had the BK9 burger which was absolutely delicious and came with fries. Their drinks are also incredible! Will definitely be back. They also do bottomless mimosas for an hour and a half for $20! Highly recommend and will be back for sure.
Great experience! We had dinner, a couple of drinks, then went downstairs for the comedy show.
I have been to BK9 several times. Food is always great! I love their oxtail - yummy! This time around I tried the pork griot which was great. My boyfriend is a big fan of the jerk chicken. If you are not a fan of spicy stuff, keep away from the pikliz (pickled cabbage) - it's got a big kick that will set your mouth on fire a bit. :-)
Servers are always very friendly and helpful; and I love the creative drinks the bar offers.
I do find it to be a little too loud at times, but other than that I will keep coming back and will continue to tell my friends about it.
The restaurant has a great vibe. We loved the live music. I asked for scrambled eggs 3 different times and didn’t get them. I don’t think the waitress was listening
Food was delicious. My waitress was awesome. I’m very content with BK9
Wife’s birthday. Food was PHENOMENAL!!! Great ambiance.
Overall food and service were good
It was amazing!
Service was extremely slow.
Drinks took forever. Empanadas were dry and tasted old. My entree was delicious. I had steak, mashed potatoes and spinach but it wasn’t that hot by the time we got it. I’m giving it one more try.
Amazing service ! Allison was so nice and pleasant
The service was exceptional. We were seated right away for our 12pm reservations. We had the option of outdoor or indoor seating, and we chose outdoor which was very quaint and nice. Food came out quickly and was delicious. The banana rum waffles are a must!!
The waiter and staff checked up on us frequently, but not too many times where you feel annoyed.
Will definitely return again
Food was good. Service was poor. Waitress deserted us to tend the bar. Hostess was able to pick up slack after several other patrons received their food even though they sat down after us. Might have had better luck if we sat at the bar. Food made up for poor service.
Food was pretty good. I do wish our waitress was a bit more focused on customer service. The music was way too loud, we had to scream to hear each other.
I love going to BK9 been a patron there since the 1st week they opened. Food and drinks are amazing. Their Brunch is awesome. My favorites oxtail empanadas and bajan rum punch. They have themed menus that coincide with shows at Barclays Center. Music is great but can get very loud at times. Visit them you won't be disappointed
The food was amazing. Great service and atmosphere. The owner made sure we were comfortable and were taken care of. The music (DJ) was a nice touch. We were going to the Barclay's arena and it is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend.
As a Haitian, its hard to find good traditional food and this place exceeded my expectations. Plan on going back soon.
Amazing cocktails (especially the Dark & Stormy), great appetizers and tasty entrees. If you've got space, the red velvet cake is definitely worth sharing - so light and fluffy. Waitress was extremely attentive but not overbearing.
Good food and service. Unfortunately we were seated by the stairs and they must've had construction going on since there was a bag of concrete and tools there. Outside of that great experience.
Staff was OUTSTANDING. The food was tasty. The waiting time was very short. Great experience overall.
The waitress and chef saved this visit. The hostess was frazzled and left my party of 9 waiting to be seated for a long time. Many people left while she ran around looking overwhelmed. A simple “give me a moment” would have sufficed. The waitress lifted the mood and the chef came over to make sure all was well. The Dj was great and the drinks were ok. It’s a nice vibe though and I would go back again.
A good friend of mine recommended that I visit this restaurant for my birthday. Well, it was an excellent recommendation. The food was so tasty, the vibes were nice and DJ Royal was amazing. He played all of the hits. I met the owner, he was a kind man. I will absolutely go back again, even if just for a quick bite.
Made reservations for 12 for Sunday brunch to celebrate my 40th birthday! We were sat right away right at the front of the restaurant near the live jazz and eventually the dj! We had bottomless mimosas and Bellinis as well as some delicious food. The oxtail hash was my favorite and the French toast!!!! Service was excellent and the restaurant was very accommodating. Everyone had a good time and it was reasonably priced for the quality of food you are getting! Great experience overall. Will be back to try other menu options, since everything looked so good!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was great. Service and staff wonderful. Just wish the noise level was not so harsh. 2nd time dining here and its impossible to have a conversation without asking the person to repeat themselves more than twice . Restaurant is way too loud. Whether it be patrons or the music being played. A major turn off for such a great restaurant. Id still come back and recommend because the customer service is excellent.
The food was AMAZING however - the service was TERRIBLE! We went for brunch which is advertised for 90 minutes unlimited..so why were we cut off at 60 MINUTES??? And after our 1st pitcher of mimosas and barely finishing our food, our server asked if we wanted the check. NO we didn't... then 10 minutes later she asked AGAIN... then AGAIN. Then when we asked for a refill our our BOTTOMLESS drinks, we were told there were "no more." Honestly the food is the only thing that saved this place from getting 0 stars.
I liked the relaxed atmosphere but was very disappointed with the food. My salmon was not fresh and my son's comment regarding his grio was "I've had better grio. Didn't taste like grio at all". I thought the food was too pricey.
I came to celebrate a birthday. The service was amazing. The host and our server were outstanding. We were given slices of watermelons while we were waiting for our food. We also received a shot of tequila because we were there for a birthday. The food was exquisite and prepared well. I always say presentation of food matters and they exceeded that.
It was my daughter’s birthday and we took her and some of her friends to dinner. This is her favorite restaurant and it continues to provide great food and service. Thank you.
Brunch on sunday, 90 minutes of mimosas !! YAyy
