The restaurant was very romantic for our special occasion. The very minor issues we faced were.
1. There wasn't a coat rack for our belongings. For such an upscale restaurant we didn't want to worry about our belongings being left out.
2. We had to ask a variety of times for our drinks to be refilled.
Apart from this, the food was delicious and had a perfect balance. We went for the 4-course menu which was more than enough.
The greeting at the front door was wonderful, the restaurant is beautiful and well lit. We had our water delivered promptly. Drinks were wrong (they forgot the vodka in vodka & club), water bottle was empty and I kept putting where thee waiter had to see it but instead of taking the empty bottle, they kept just moving back to where they wanted it to be on the table. We asked for all food to be brought out at once yet we got them brought out whenever they were ready. I had to get up to find the waiter to get another drink. The food however was exceptional.
Very good food and service. Background music was at times a bit loud and did need to turn down a few times. Overall a fantastic experience
Good Italian food but not outstanding and overpriced for what you get. Wine ridiculously expensive. Atmosphere curiously lacking too.
This is a great place if you want to celebrate a special occasion. The food was great and the wine recommendation was very good. I had the lemon and merengue cake which was amazing. The service and ambiance were very good. Basically, although a bit pricey, one pays for the quality.
Good restaurant, only one problem was the chairs were low and tables were wide so felt far away from each other.
Great design, very nice food. Truffle pizza is super good.
This was our fourth visit in the last few years while visiting London on business. The restaurant has never disappointed. It is beautiful and the service is fantastic. Very good selection of Italian wines. Don’t miss the Veal Milanese...OUTSTANDING!
The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and the decor is beautiful. The service was outstanding from the moment I walked in, all the way through until I left. However, I was slightly displeased as the staff immediately started pouring bottled water for myself and my friend, without us ordering for it or being notified of a charge, and had to pay for it later. All in all, a great restaurant.
Visiting from US and celebrating a birthday. Service is top shelf - friendly, knowledgeable, warm and incredibly professional - they all work as a team. Food is fantastic - well done starters - minestrone and the eggplant- veal and lamb chops were outstanding and pizzas will make any kid (or adult) happy. Might be a bit loud and wine is, as others indicated, a little more pricey. But there were tourists, regulars, families (very good with smaller kids) all getting along cross tables.
I was seriously and pleasantly surprised. Worth the visit - recommend you try too.
Taglitelle with truffle is a must try!
The food was wonderful excellent ravioli. The restaurant was really comfortable and not very noisy a great meal for a reasonable price in London.
The tuna was excellent, sea bass was good, the boar was bland. Service was very professional. Wine list was limited with only excellent but expensive wines. No value selections at all.
Beautiful restaurant and a nice menu. Food and drinks were fine but the prices of the drinks were not reflective of the quality served. 13.5% service charge unjustified when we had to remind them we were still waiting for some glasses of wine. Overall nice time was had but be prepared to be shocked by your drinks bill. Would I go again? Perhaps in distant future. Too many other places I’d rather visit first.
Love this place. Great food, attentive service and you never feel rushed.
The warm octopus salad was delicious as was the veal Milanese
The food was delicious. The pastas melt in your mouth and the asparagus appetizer is to die for! It also has a very fun atmosphere .
Good ok. Prices reasonable. Service terrible. Kept waiting >30 mins just to order then the food was rushed. Impossible to get anyone’s attention. Perhaps it was Sunday night that meant they were short-staffed.
While the food was good, the noise from the live singer was unbearable. They also charged a fixed tip of 13.5% which is outrageous for the UK.
Had the tasting menu and it was amazing!
Great food, great wine, great service. What’s not to like?
Was expensive but worth every penny....
This is the most beautiful Italian restaurant I’ve been in. My wife couldn’t stop taking pictures. The staff were quite polite although my meal took a bit of a while to arrive but it was worth the wait.
Over the long weekend in London....we had late small plates after the theater.....so enjoyable returned for a full meal...wow! Perfect dinner, service was fantastic....veal, artichoke and fresh fish.
This was our third visit to Bocconcino and it was as good as our first.
Beautiful place, delicious food!! Attention to music, it was quite loud, we couldn't talk properly.
A very good meal. My one criticism is that the main courses were served far too soon after our starters and this gave a rushed feeling to the otherwise very good service.
Easy to reserve online. Close to Hyde Park. Excellent service and food. The veal Milanese was especially good. Burnt lemon and meringue cake was excellent. Only issue is the music is too loud. But we’ll go back when in London.
Italian restaurant well positioned in Green Park. good choice of pasta, mains and always a special of the day fish or meat freshly prepared and served tableside
2 minute walk from Green Park station, ideal location. Great ambiance with comfortable interiors. Big menu with something for everyone - very enjoyable and will return
Grand Italian with wonderful staff. Great pizza's with a huge menu and accommodating to dietary requirements. One of the best tiramisu I've had
A wonderful lunch! classic Italian cooking with fresh ingredients prepared in simple yet stylish manner.
Wonderful Italian in the center of Mayfair. Great spot for lunch with welcoming environment amongst stylish interiors. Excellent menu with a variety of classic dishes, perfectly cooked
Very enjoyable lunch spot for a casual meal. Good sized portions which are well cooked and presented. Very accommodating staff, highly recommend
Time and again a great restaurant - Simply delicious! They have a wide selection of choice on their menu and staff are very knowledgeable to assist with any questions and helped make an excellent choice, cooked to perfection also. Overall a really superb meal.
Very disappointing food, was expecting better. Was expensive for food which was very underwhelming. Will not be back, sorry
The food was astonishingly good but they let themselves down with crazy prices for the premium wines . C30% more than same wines at other top restaurants . Service was also excellent.
We didn’t like they directly offered us bottle water instead of offering or asking if we want tap water. The price of the 1 litre water was£6!!!!!!!
Great venue and fun Italian cuisine with a fantastic wine menu. We booked a table for 5 for my little sister's birthday around 8.30pm on a Saturday. Restaurant wasn't overly busy and we had plenty of attention from the staff (downstairs) . In-fact we had around 4 members of staff serving us throughout the evening and all of them were outstanding. Food was tasty and decent sized portions compared many others around the area. We tried Octopus( a must have), Wild boar, scallops among many other delicious dishes . Highlight was the night's special "heart of Filet mignon" which my brother in law and shared. We had live music playing from 9pm ( a pair of musicians) . From where we were seated couldn't actually see them nor hear them as they were not overly loud. So if you are expecting a show like say at Boisdale you will be a bit disappointed. Overall fabulous venue and cannot thank enough all the waiting staff and the Chef.
now the bad points.
I booked the table 2 weeks prior and I called and inquired if I can bring or order a cake for the occasion . So my sister will be surprised during desert. Lady on the phone said she is not sure if the chef can bake for this day but will arrange something else saying happy birthday on our desert of some sort. There was none. I didn't mind paying extra for it but there was literally no indication that I booked it for a special occasion. Also I asked the lady if I can reserve a table downstairs as I see they are playing live music there. She said it is impossible and I had to call back on the day we are supposed to dine. When I called on saturday the answer was "we will try". we got the table at the end but felt like I was asking for a favour.
Came to the restaurant at 7.45pm , well earlier than our 8.30pm booking. The receptionist said she cannot promise live music as they have 2 hours time limit and it will start as soon as we are seated. she later apologised but it was not at all welcoming.
Very underwhelmed - I had high expectations and was dissapointed - food and service very average but the prices didn’t reflect this as I felt it was overpriced- also the restaurant was not at street level so no natural light - really not impressed!
We popped in last minute for an early lunch and so the restaurant was almost empty but we still thought I was a lovely place with friendly staff and wonderful food. Perfectly located. We enjoyed it.
My husband and I enjoyed a meal at Bocconcino last Fri eve. We both ate from the specials menu rather than a la carte, it was very tasty and reasonably priced. The wine was rather pricey and though we chose from the lower end it was far from disappointing. The added bonus was the live entertainment and rather aptly a tribute to Doris Day which suited the atmosphere perfectly. We had a lovely evening and would definitely go back.
