Outstanding service, and most importantly, the food was superb!
Noisy, service was fair and food was good , not exceptional.
Phenomenal experience, food, service. Thank you!!
If there was a no star rating I would have chosen that.
Seated in back room, waiter barely came by. I have never had such poor Italian food. From start to finish. Truffle pizza was cardboard awful over smoked flavor it was inedible and my moms pesto pistachio pasta was a bowl of paste. I. D.o.n.t typically review restaurants and I recall dining here years ago and it was fine. It was horrendous. I’m so disappointed. Waiter gave us a glass of wine each to make up for it. That’s all.
Outstanding. My guests and I had a wonderful time.
Just because Cafe Milano’s ground breaking contemporary Italian cuisine became a classic doesn’t mean it’s not fantastic. It is fantastic- a wonderful experience in every way, every time. Enjoy!
Everything was amazing. My only critique is with the pasta I had. There were bits of lobsters in it which was amazing but the shell was left on and I had to pick it off. This was annoying to do.
Thank you for your nice review, i appreciate you taking the time to give us your candid and constructive feedback.we keep the shell to capture all the flavor of the lobster in the sauce. Please on your next visit you can always ask your server to have the shell removed.i look forward to welcoming you back to Cafe Milano and ensuring your next experience is in keeping with your expectations and standards Laurent Menoud Maitre D'
Great food, as usual. Great service, as usual. However, the restaurant was too cold because the A/C was blasting.
Cafe Milano is a special occasion delight with great service, terrific food, a wonderful wine list with a knowledgeable sommelier, and of course with the great restaurateur Franco Nuschese presiding over the house with the single goal of ensuring his customers enjoy themselves.
We have not dined at Cafe Milano for 2 years because of relocating to North Carolina but were remembered by most of the staff! We were greeted by two lovely young ladies and were escorted to our favorite table. Our server was Anwar who saw we had been regulars when Giovanni came over to greet us .We started with the marinated olives and garlic and all the wonderful memories came flooding back. What a simple thing as olives and garlic can be made so elegant at one of our favorite restaurants continues to amaze us! We started with the Burrata salad with grilled endive, cherry tomatoes, and roasted hazel nuts . What a combination of flavors and textures that has not changed to my memory! The light Madonna Brunello di Montalcino 2013 was a perfect pairing for our entire lunch. We always have the Pizza Cafe Milano and savor every bite . We noticed the oil cured olives were replaced with the tiniest Kalamata olives ever . This change was attention to detail x 10 . We enjoyed the Ravioli Cavalli which is braised veal and spinach in a perfectly adente pasta with a rich brown sauce. It was my wife's birthday and to celebrate they brought a delectable Tiramisu with a sparkling candle and two glasses of homemade limoncello. Everyone alive should partake of this experience because even the bread and Italian olive oil was to die for. Francesco made sure we went home with a bottle of olive oil so we could continue to tease our memory at home. The always vigilant Laurent spotted us on our way and asked "where have you been." The best restaurant in D.C.!!
Bad table bad service bad attitude. Didn’t feel valued. Overcharged the wine (was an accident supposedly) and when we asked for grilled chicken on the salad they charged for an entirely new chicken entree
Visiting DC before bringing our granddaughter to Disney World to start her 6 month internship after finishing graduate school in Architecture !
Always top notch service. Cafe Milano is a DC staple.
We love Milano. Food is always great. But it is loud. We were there late. Last night we asked our server to turn the music down and he silenced the speakers in our area. It was still loud, but better.
My favorite restaurant in DC. We always enjoy at least one meal here on our annual trip. The team is gracious, knowledgeable and efficient. Great food, wine list and ambiance. See you next year.
Great menu and options. Was great set up for business lunch.
Only drawback was cigar smoking out on the patio that was blowing into the main dining area. Not very pleasant.
Perfect place for a Birthday brunch!
This was our first visit and everyone could NOT have been nicer. The food was delicious and we truly appreciated the sincere hospitality. We'll be back with friends!
My wife and I went to Cafe Milano to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was excellent, especially our waitress Amelia. We were greeted with happy anniversary wishes and our entire experience was terrific. Appetizers and dinners were delicious and dinner was capped off with a complimentary Tiramisu with a sparkler in the middle. Felt a bit like the 4th of July. Another important part of the experience was that we never felt rushed, even though they were very busy with customers celebrating graduations, etc. Overall, a great experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Need to add other wines to the wine list like a New Zealand White. Did not like our table.
Second visit in 4 days! Pasta oustanding and Yassine’s service even better.
Great, service , food, ambience all terrific
We had a most enjoyable evening. Food was great (my wife would have preferred that the lobster was already out of the shell in her linguine dish), and Yassine, our waiter, was excellent as was his support crew. We would be regulars if we lived here.
A wonderful dining experience. The service was amazing as well as the preparation of our meals and presentation.
Cafe Milano continues to charm and impress with every visit I make to Washington DC. The service and food are impeccable!!
Absolutely awful. We waited almost 40 minutes past our reservation and when we finally got seated they tried their best to rush us through dinner. Not even an apology for the wait. This used to be a great place, no idea what happened.
Exceptional in every way. Service is top notch. Appetizers of cold tomato soup and burrata were delicious. Entrees of cod, sea bass and pasta were cooked perfectly and with the freshest ingredients. Cafe Milano is a special occasion restaurant that delights in every way.
Horrible service. Food was good.
Delicious food and fun atmosphere, although VERY loud - it's fun, but not romantic. We ordered drinks, they came right away. Ordered starters and main courses, a few minutes later, we were enjoying salads. 50 minutes after we finished salads, we got our entrees. No apologies, no acknowledgment. Acted astounded when we weren't going to order coffee or dessert (it was 10:30pm by then).
Fun place, good food, just LOOOOONNG wait for your food.
Wonderful meal and wonderful ambience GREAT service, tables are a little close together which increases the noise level but overall highly reccomend
Fabulous food, great service. Wines a bit pricey but overall, very worth the cost of the dinner.
The wait staff was very heful and the dessert chef created ZAMBALGIONE FOR EACH OF US. FANTASTIC.
Cafe Milano has consistently impressed me and is hands down my favorite restaurant spot in DC! I have recommended it to many friends/family/DC visitors, and will continue to do so! It can be pricey, but in my opinion, well worth every dime!
I have been going to Café Milano for so many years I can’t count. I don’t go as regularly anymore; however, Franco, the owner, still rolls out the red carpet when I arrive! The service is impeccable. The environment is enchanting. The entire experience is glamorous and fun! Not to mention the delicious food! Cafe Milano never disappoints!
Thank you, Franco ! I’m sorry I missed you, Laurent!
Fantastic on every level.
Absolutely delicious! I fly up from Austin, TX for this meal/experience.
Best dinner ever! Thank you always for best service in town!
Food and service was superb. Had a table by the front windows so noise was moderate. Great atmosphere and dining experience!
