Clyde's of Georgetown
Very nice. Great lobster. Good service. We will return!
Our server Jack was absolutely amazing! He made recommendations and was extremely helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better dinner!
Really tasty food. Really tasty drinks. Great service. Thanks Ben (our waiter).
Great lobster special for the rest of September. A 1 1/4 lb very fresh Maine lobster Nd fries for $20. Great deal on a tasty lobster that has not sat in a tank for days. I tried the lobster Shepard pie at same price and while very tasty the lobster in it was a very small specimen. Stick with the whole lobster if a lobster fan.
Everything went fine except for one incident. I reserved and arrived early. I checked in and they seated me around the corner in the inner dining room. My guest arrived on time and was told that I had not arrived. She sat at the bar for 10 minutes or more before she got up to go to the restroom and saw me. Otherwise, we both ordered the lobster special, which was very good in size, very good in price and very good in taste.
Lovely steak. Recommended
Delicious! Amazing service! Don't skip dessert - you'll miss out!
Clyde’s was delicious! I look forward to returning the next time I’m in DC!
the waiter was wrong in our order: llvré a dish rigatoni in excess, which found himself billed wrongly! From. Plus, one of our two lobsters smelled of ammonia. We are very disappointed.
Dirty, dirty, dirty. Floors, tablecloths and dishes. Literally clean up your act Clyde’s. Every surface needs a good cleaning and you can tell it’s been neglected for some time. SAD
This particular location is very rundown. It smells like a college bar and the food quality isn’t like the other Clyde’s. We had a great server, though!
Food was great as always, though they were very busy. We only saw our waiter once when he took our order and then never came back. Otherwise the experience was nice. Highly recommend the fish entrees.
From host on, amazing staff. Bartender, Colin, was great and extremely accommodating as we waited for our table with our 10 yr old. Scott, our waiter, was great, attentive, sense of humor and efficient. Food was soooo good and prices were a surprise in a good way.
I had the Mainer lobster for lunch by myself. It is one of the best deals in town for less than 20 $. I truly enjoyed it. Georgetown Clyde's is a very nice restaurant with a unique setting and character.
Was meeting a friend from out of state -- asked for quiet table. Got it. Waiter was terrific -- recommended wine and it was a hit. He was totally gracious while we chatted and chatted. My friend enjoyed everything, as did I. Thanks.
The food and atmosphere was amazing.
Good food but at least two mice were running in and out of their fireplace in the back of the dining room. The manager simply asked if we wanted a new table but seemed overall unconcerned that vermin were in his restaurant.
Sunday dinner with friends is a neighborhood delight. The food is always good, the prices very reasonable and the service is excellent as the servers are well trained. Well worth the walk.
Sat 20 minutes after our reservation time. We had 90 minutes to have dinner before a movie and that was a stretch. Will not return
Rude and I mean rude server which never smiled or ask if we needed anything.
We reserved a lunch at 1:45pm on a Sunday following a Georgetown U event, and were promptly seated. We advised our server that we needed to be at another appointment and maybe we would just have appetizers. The server advised us he can get anything to us and get us out on-time. The food was great, the service was excellent, the venue is a little loud and tight, but overall, excellent!
Lovely spot, good and busy the night we visited. Service was very good. Food was good apart from kids pasta which lacked flavour and slightly overdone. NY Strip was very nice though.
Just too noisy for us. We left after appetizers. It was Saturday night and screaming babies in tiny room was just too much.
Took nearly 1 hour to get basic menu items we ordered even though when we got there the place was half empty.
Food has gone down hill; wilted lettuce, runny disgusting blue cheese dressing in/on salad.
Burger was ok. Fries looked like they were 2 days old; didn’t eat them.
My guests food was “ok”.
I used to enjoy this restaurant but I doubt if I’ll go back.
We were a party of five and were seated promptly on a recent Sunday evening. We notified our waiter that our daughter has a tree nut allergy and was thinking of ordering the tuna fish sandwich. We provided him with an allergy card explaining her allergies and asked that he share it with the chef. He assured us they could accommodate her so we proceeded to order. After waiting about 30 minutes, the sandwich was presented first to our daughter. However, thankfully we immediately noticed it was not tuna. In fact, they had given her turkey with pesto!!! They promptly apologized and replaced it with a tuna sandwich. What a dangerous and rookie mistake that could have been deadly. Although my meal crab tower and dinner salad was excellent, we won’t likely be back to a restaurant that could be so careless in their service.
We went for pancakes and waffles
And had a delicious meal
Concur with policy of straws upon request
Glad Clyde’s remains top notch
Our server Scott was awesome!
Great food, but server could have been more attentive.
The food was delicious and the service was good. To get 5 stars Clyde’s could have done a couple of things better:
1. The food was not as hot as I would have hoped
2. The brunch menu should have had omelettes
3. I asked for hot sauce with my meal. I would have liked something more than tobasco
Very good food...a little noisy and crowed but the food was worth it. A good value for the area....
At our request, we were seated in a lovely high-ceiling area away from the bar activity. Our server, Benjamin, was very attentive. The filet mignon special (19.99 for 6oz) was cooked to perfection as was the broccolini and potatoes. Others at our table had the lamb and duck and were also pleased.
Clyde's was great as usual, our go to spot when we drop our daughter off at school (Georgetown). The crab tower appetizer is phenomenal and the service is always top notch. My lamb was a little fatty but all of the other main dishes we had were excellent, especially the rockfish. Highly recommend this spot for family and friends. It is also not crazy expensive for the quality.
Always a favorite in all locations. Food is excellent and staff very attentive even with a full house
Sapphire took great care of us while we enjoyed brunch. I only wish my frittata wasn’t as dry and there was a little more cheese.
Great food, excellent service!
The host was AWESOME. My friend was running late (bus from NYC, then getting into Georgetown on a weeknight), and the host simply understood the traffic dynamics of the city, and held a table for us. Meanwhile, I patiently sat by the bar waiting for him to arrive. We had a wonderful meal (although I think my med-well steak was more well-done), and am thankful to my waiter for accommodating my affogato request for dessert.
Food uninspiring. Absurdly strong air conditioning.
We decided to eat at Clyde's before taking in a show at The Kennedy Center and had a great time, we'll definitely be back.
Was somewhat disappointed in selection. No shrimp option, limited steak offerings. Mussels were outstanding!
This was my first time dining at the Georgetown location. I found space (tables) too close in proximity and actually had to request seating away from a table that left us with no room to move in and out. We had to ask our waiter as to what the specials were. Despite his sharing that information when we asked about the Salmon we were told that it wasn't very good. When we observed a plate being brought out for another customer it looked like it would be better than what I ordered which was the ribs. The ribs were rather bland and not a very lean slab. We had just been to the Kennedy Center and wanted to have a celebratory bday dinner for my girlfriend. Overall I did not have a pleasant food experience.
