Clyde's of Reston
**Every night we offer a Late Night menu until 1:30 am!**
Not our usual experience at Clyde’s
Don’t get to take my sons to a nice dinner very much. It’s a luxuary. Our waiter John was great. We didn’t get bread with our soup though. The food we greasy and not very tasty. Presentation meh. Expected more from Clydes. Expensive dinner for bar food taste/quality.
Clyde’s is a reliable place to get good, well-prepared food. The service is usually very good, although sometimes new waitstaff need (and should get) some patience while they learn. That was my experience this evening. I will continue dining at Clyde’s as I have for 25 years.
We celebrate our anniversary here every year and it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful service we receive here! everyone is so welcoming and they seat fairly quickly. If you don't like to wait you can always make a reservation. They stay consistently busy but you could never tell with the wait staff they do an outstanding job! I love coming here! If it wasn't an hour and a half drive we would probably make this place our date night spot!
good food and varied menu
Love the place...any time I’m in the area, this is a “must do” destination dinner spot.
The nautical themed decor typically sets the mood for a relaxing and comfortable meal. This particular evening the ambiance was disturbed by some undisciplined children whose loud voices could be heard throughout the restaurant and another group celebrating a surprise birthday. But otherwise the service was great, as usual. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had the oatmeal pie with cinnamon ice cream, which was delicious.
Nice meal on last day of lobster specials. Good value. Other food looked good.
The lobster was outstanding. Clyde's is a great place for a meal with family or friends.
Miss the Tysons location. Sad but it seems ownership is resting on their laurels. Can’t find a reason to return or recommend this one.
Server forgot order, smiled and left them was surprised when apprise was not brought out before main course. Still has no clue she forgot to bring coke a cola for my son. Never will go there again and will actively tell people not to go there!
Food was cold or not warm. Home made corn beef hash no flavor and cold. Most dishes for 10 people were not very warm. And poorly prepared or overcooked.
We usually have a wonderful dinner at Clyde's in Reston, but two things came up. My drink (Dry Sack on the rocks) was so small, and without the enormous ice cube there was barely a 1/2" of alcohol in the glass. I did tell the waiter, and asked that I have another drink on the house because the first one was a bit scarce. He brought the drink in a small wine glass while my drinking glass had the ice cube. I poured the Dry Sack over the ice cube and it was a decent portion.
The other item was my husband's jaegerschnitzl was very dry and over breaded.
Great service by our server, Manuel; attentive, friendly and efficient. Other attendants were good, too. Tasty lobster roll and husband loved his Parmesan crusted trout. Lovely, cozy booth. Kudos to the Clyde’s of Reston team!
Good meal except "hanger steak". It came in the surprising shape of a filet mignon and was so tough as to be indedible.
Love the lobster special! I come for my birthday every year!
We were clelebrating our birthdays. Nothing special for a birthday anymore???
Love Cludes and so much easier now that you take reservations. Love sitting outside this summer. Have been a regular for 25 plus years!
Quite disappointed in the offerings on the menu. Couldn’t switch cole slaw for a small salad on a crab cake order.
Waitress was nice but not very good - slow service; had to ask for cream & sugar for coffee. Table was full of empty plates & she brought the coffee but no where to put it table was full of empty plates. Disappointing experience.
5 of us in the group including a vegetarian. Menu provided options for all. The food was outstanding and the service was very good.
Food and service were blah. The lobster bisque (special of the day) was burned and gross. Apparently you can get free parking code but was not offered this even after asking about it.
This was not what we expected at all. The service was horrendous and the three black hairs in a burger were beyond gross! Other than taking our order our waitress never came and checked on us, didn’t confirm our order we received was what we ordered (which it was not) and seemed super irritated when we literally had to flag down a waitress from another section to get us water. One of my colleagues ended up physically getting up to get our water. It’s unfortunate —since our waitress was training a new hire, too. It would be unfortunate to have a new hire observe such poor customer service and think it was acceptable.
Excellent place, our group meets there for lunch at least once a month. Highly recommended
My favorite restaurant- food is great-crab cakes are better than Baltimore
Love the aesthetic yet comfortable vibe
A cheerful cozy place
Reasonable prices, friendly staff
Sat at a section at 8:30 (restaurant not full) and waited over 15 minutes for a waiter to come by, then had to speak to manger to even get water and a server. Service never improved. Manager did take 50% off bill, but didn't make up for a terrible experience. I know why I never dine at Clyde's! Better options at RTC.
Celebrated Wife’s birthday with a party of 12. TJ, our server was excellent. Checked on us often and provided updates on entrees. TJ was very familiar with the restaurant. Food was great! Service was great! Costs, very competing.
We have been going to this Clyde's for many years. While overall it is still good, it reminds me of the sports star who, as they age, loses a step. Service was a bit slow and could have been more professional. The food was good but not quite as good as previous visits.
I had a very nice waitress. Really nice experience and the food was really good!
Had a great dinner with my girlfriend and had very friendly service and great food!
Good for business lunch
Worst restaurant experience to date! We had a 6:30 reservation and were promptly seated. This is where it went downhill immediately! Drinks took forever to come, server blamed bar being busy. Manager came over and took our order, server was mia. We ordered 2 salads, a kids meal and 1 entree at about 6:45. We waited, waited and waited. My son ate bread. Our food never came out. We left at 7:25 with no food. No one ever asked to refill our drinks either. Thank goodness my son at least got some bread. Never again
This was a great server. The lobster roll was fantastic and I shouldn’t have had the Oreo cheesecake - but I am oh so glad I did!
Great experience! Delicious food and service! Service was terrific, even for a large party of nine!
I always enjoy the Clyde’s lobster special and this was no exception.
Went for lobster. It was wonderful. The truffled mac and cheese was amazing. Will be returning soon.
Lobster special was outstanding! Service was good. Crying baby was a bit of a distraction though certainly not the restaurant's fault. We will be back.
pleasant experience however the waiter appeared a bit confused and we had to remind him several time of order items still outstanding. He as pleasant and friendly - just very distracted.
Crabcakes were good and meaty but overly peppery - half as much would have been adequate.
Totally disappointed. I eat at Tower Oaks in Rockville almost weekly and it is a totally different experience. I went on line to compare the menu. Reston listed several different entre's as well as desserts - they had none of them.
Waitress did not offer bread, rarely came back, food took forever to get to the table and the desserts (two milkshakes and a piece of chocolate cake to go) took almost 20 minutes to get to the table. The adult drinks were so strong those that ordered them couldn't finish them - and they tasted nothing like the description.
We were sitting at a round table and the noise level was so high we could barely hear the person sitting next to us let alone across the table. I know that all Clyde's are loud but Reston was so loud it made our whole dining experience unpleasant. I personally will never go back to the Reston location.
Great service. Great food. Good time w groups big or small.
We had a good meal but it wasn't wonderful except for one member's lobster shepherd's pie. Too, our waiter seemed totally unengaged and quite dour (perhaps he was having a bad night).
