Poor service, poor service, poor service. Not sure I can say it enough. We noted in the Open Table reservation we were there for an anniversary yet when we arrived we were asked if we were there for a special occasion. Yes, anniversary. Off the bat, not feeling like a special occasion.
Seated in the bar area. Have been there before so no surprises about the noise level in that part of the restaurant. However, it was an anniversary. A little thought about a less crowded area would have been appreciated.
Our server seemed particularly distracted and more interested in turning tables than giving us good service. She stopped by our table several times with a dirty dish tray or dirty barware from the other tables she was serving. I might expect that at a lesser restaurant but not from a place with the reputation of Clydes.
Steaks were over salted and the chimichurri sauce had enough oil in it to open a Jiffy Lube. Now I think I know why so many people around us were eating hamburgers.
I have had several good experiences at Willow Creek but this was not one of them. I had high hopes for a memorable anniversary dinner and was sorely disappointed. The magic is gone. I won’t be back.
The service was reasonably good, although one of the waiters did spill a drink on me. My wife had the special, flounder in a hollandaise sauce. The fish was terribly overcooked and stringy, definitely not the least bit appetizing, and no amount of sauce could fix that. There were no complaints on the rest of our meals but nothing really stood out. Clydes is an expensive upscale establishment, but not the only one by a mile in this area. You really need to up your game in the kitchen or people will go somewhere else.
This was a great experience. Service was good, food was prepared well, nice ambiance. A special shout-out to Edgar, our waiter, and to our hostess (last name "Kane"). We were treated well and felt very welcome.
We have been visiting Clydes at Willow Creek for the past 12 years and have never had a bad experieince. I have known Paul Fox, General Manager, for over 40 years from his daysas a bartender at Clydes of Tysons Corner. His management has ensured a great dining experience.
Two of my friends and I had lunch here last Sunday and everything was perfect. The tables are well socially-distanced and our waitress Melanie J. and her trainee did a fantastic job of keeping us supplied with everything we needed. I had the wedge steak salad and it was delicious. I ordered the meat rare and that exactly how it came. The brownie sundae was super wonderful. They even divided it in three so we all got to enjoy it. Love this place and all the staff are wonderful!
Great food, service and the outdoor area so gorgeous
We enjoyed a perfect evening eating on the patio of Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm. The ceases salad was fair. The Peruvian chicken and crab cake dishes were wonderfully prepared. Our waiter did a fine job, wonder experience overall.
First time I've been back to Clyde's since the Pandemic. They have done a great job in converting the large dining room in the back from primarily closely spaced booths to all tables set at a good distance apart. All staff from front to back wore masks. The food was as good as ever.
Im not sure why but this place just does not seem to be as good as it has been in the past. Been here a few times recently and have left disappointed. Maybe it has to do with Covid because I have felt many restaurants have been off thier game.
Group of 3, really poor service in general. When the waitress came to take the drinks order she only took one person, after a while she was back and took the other two drinks (sweet iced tea) the tea came ad was not sweet at all. We need t so for bread, she seems to be in a rush.
When we order dinner, and the food came, basically the quality was not the expected for the price. Cheeseburger, we ordered well done and was not, crab cake was cold and cole slaw super tiny. The waitress never came back t check if food came out right.
After another period of time she came back and asked to take the plates, basically with food that we are not eating.
We ask for the dessert menu, she never offered.
Overall a poor experience, and I'm very surprise because go often and never feel this way.
I'm not sure if we are going to give Clyde's another chance., sorry
Very good attentive service. Great social distancing and cleanliness. Good is very good. Ambiance is quiet and reserved in the dining room.
Overall Great experience
This is a great place to eat. The service was exceptional and the food was great.
It was really fun and the food was great. Very historic!
We were celebrating our Anniversary, our waiter (Greg) was awesome! We had a wonderful meal and really enjoyed ourselves.
Clydes provides the most consistent and excellent experience across all of their restaurants.
They are by far my favorite restaurants….Reston - Ashburn- Georgetown
I came to have lunch/brunch on a Saturday with my 86 year old mother in a wheelchair.
There were 4 persons at the hostess stand, no other customers in the lobby and we were taken to a booth to be seated.
Front two doors were difficult to navigate, I did not see door opener for wheelchair and stone floor difficult for chair to roll.
Have you tried holding a door open pushing a wheelchair through it? I struggled but got it done.
Taken to second place to be seated and the hostess who was in front of us, stood at table and did not remove chair so I could push up my mother to the table. I did it. She looked at me as I hesitated for her to act, but she looked away and stood there like my mom was going to stand up and sit into the chair at the table. I’m chill and yes I could of asked her to move it, but I think she should also have some idea what needed to happen.
I love Clydes and everything else is excellent. Staff just needs to be trained a bit for seating people.
I know it’s tough with staff but a hostess has one main job, seat people.
Excellent food and excellent service...the decor was just amazing....had a great time.
Clyde’s is great.
Ambiance is lovely and crab cake was delicious. Service was terrible, not up to what I'm used to at Clydes. Bread was not provided without asking and then it didn't arrive for quite a while. Service was extremely slow, and waitress did not check to see if we needed anything once the meal came. I ordered cappucino after the meal, and it was cold after a prolonged wait.
Celebrated 2nd wedding anniversary @ Clydes willow creek.
From the time we got there, our dining experience was wonderful!
I have visited Clyde’s many times over the years. I have to say we were a bit disappointed this time. The service was great but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered one crab cake and for the price I expected more than a dollop of crab. Then I wanted only veggies with the crab cake and not the carbs that came with it. There was an extra charge for that. Really?
The question below asks about recommendations for fiend. Maybe but not for crab cake.
Beautiful restaurant and property and the staff were attentive. The food was very good, but fell a little short of “excellent,” as the steak was just a bit tough. But this was minor, and given the cost of the meal, which was comparatively modest, makes up for the quality of the food. If you’re looking for a venue for a special occasion, Clyde’s is a sound choice.
Back in town after a couple of years. All was as good as we remembered.
Delightful evening out at Clyde's - the miso cod was exceptional!
I went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant arranged a very nice , quiet areas for 5 of us. The waitress was nice & provided excellent services. Food were delicious & everyone had a great time. We definitely want to go again!
Clyde's is always reliable for great service and quality, fresh food.
Nice dinner out. Servers were friendly and informed, they did not rush us. Food came out quickly and everything tasted amazing. They were very accommodating to food allergies.
The food was excellent as always. Service was beyond accomodating. You can tell the management focuses on their employees and it shows in the services. Can't wait to go back.
Another good meal in the past 2 weeks. Beets, Cesar salad, salmon, strip steak, strawberry shortcake. All very good. New chefs in the house are making a difference for us. Adding this restaurant back onto our rotation.
Food and atmosphere were wonderful. Priced reasonably.
Waiter mentioned he would waive the cake fee upon serving the cake I bought in to celebrate my son’s birthday. I was unaware of a cake fee as the receptionist did not mention a cake fee when confirming the reservation and when I inquired if I can bring in a cake. Consideration to include a cake fee in website and/or mentioned by the receptionist when inquiring about bringing in our own cake.
It was great sitting on the outdoor patio at Clyde's Willow Creek Farm on date night with my wife. Great food and service as always.
Crab cakes and pastrami sandwich was excellent. Disappointed they had no soft shells which was their advertised special.
My husband and I always enjoy dining at the Clyde’s restaurant group. The Willow Farm is a lovely atmosphere and we went there to celebrate our anniversary since we were picking up a friend at Dulles. Our waiter Brendan was terrific...he was very familiar with the menu and his recommendations were perfect. I had the roasted beet salad and hanger steak with asparagus...my husband had the grilled pork chop with Mac and Cheese. We were served complimentary desserts for our anniversary...fresh strawberry shortcake and chocolate truffle cake. My watermelon margarita was so fresh and delicious. The entire meal was fresh and delicious...couldn’t be happier with our choices.
We had an absolutely delightful evening of friendship, food and wine at Clyde’s Willow Creek. It is our “go-to” evening out restaurant and we always enjoy our dinner. This evening we had the most attentive server - Abby who was witty, charming and very engaging. Our kudos go to the management team led by Paul Fox.
We were seated quickly. Our server was incredible, some of the best service my friends and I ever experienced. He was attentive, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue atmosphere was very welcoming.
An enjoyable outdoor dining experience. The portion soft-shell crab entree was less than desired.
