It’s a beautiful, old building with very Art Deco features. If this interests you, it’s definitely worth a visit. From the outside, with Freemason’s Hall written above the stone door, you’d hardly know there was a restaurant in there. The building hosts multiple Freemasons’ temples. The banners of several lodges are hung on the walls. Fascinating! The food is good and enjoyable. Proper British grub. My mushroom and spinach mille feuille was missing the spinach, so effectively a mushroom vol au vent. And the pork with black pudding was lovely, though after much searching for the black pudding, it turned out that the chef had forgotten to serve it. It didn’t really matter. The you lady serving us was apologetic yet delightful and made the occasion so much better. Thank you. We would return for a second try.

After randomly finding this place we were overwhelmed at just how fantastic it was.. The food was spot on, the service excellent and the quality of the table etc was perfection.. We will be back

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday and really enjoyed the experience. It’s a beautiful, intimate setting that’s perfect for a romantic meal, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a really lovely experience and somewhere I’d definitely recommend to others. We’ll certainly be back!

Food is always exceptional, and tonight was no different. Perfectly and beautifully served, with friendly waiting colleagues. Excellent value for money with 2 or 3 course options. Good selection of wines - again very reasonable. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely place with great surroundings and wonderful food. It is a small menu but covers all tastes. The food tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were lovely. When we went it was VERY quiet-just us and another couple. I sincerely hope that this was just a case of ‘quiet August’ because we would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back. In terms of value for money it was excellent. We even got a little tour of the Masonic Hall at the end of our meal by our lovely and informative host. Get booked in!
