A very nice experience, with attentive staff who were kind enough to inform us about any potential delay to food coming due to a large group already present. Meat for the roast dinner (1 x beef, 1 x lamb) was of excellent quality, which is difficult to find with pub roasts, and the food was excellently presented and a generous portion - bar only 3 roast potatoes, a minor quibble. The dessert, a tarte tatin, was wonderful and the cheese board with biscuits also was commented on for the very good quality of biscuits. Also, not connected with the food, but there was only one bitter (sussex best) on draught, a surrey hills ale would have been nice given the location. Again, a minor quibble. Overall a very nice meal in pleasant surroundings. Will be returning when time allows.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch! The food was delicious, beautifully cooked especially the beef and well presented, with generous portions. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. A really enjoyable experience all round — we’ll definitely be back!

great menu, high quality, friendly staff. A genuine gastropub that is worth the name.

We had a wonderful dining experience at the Cricketers last night, the menu is extensive with delicious homemade dishes, we had trout fish cakes which were so tasty, partridge starter, brill & burgers mains, all were high quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were delightful, service attentive, friendly & knowledgeable. Looking forward to our next visit already
