Mejores restaurantes británicos contemporáneos en Lenwade

This is the second time that I have recently been to the Queens Head and I was pleased to see that it completely lived up to my expectations. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was reasonably busy. There were three people in our group and we were taken straight to our table where we ordered drinks and given menus. We were not pressured into ordering, but at the same time the staff discreetly kept an eye out for when we were ready to order so we did not feel abandoned. The food was really good and reasonably priced, I am certain we will return in the future.

My partner is gluten free and vegetarian, and they made a distinct menu for her that was just as good as ours. Excellent staff, both fun and attentive. For the money (we had two bottles of wine and a cocktail) it was really one of a kind.

The food was absolutely fantastic I couldn’t recommend more, each and every dish a different member of the kitchen team came and explained what there was and how it had all been cooked. Sitting over the kitchen creates a fantastic dining experience seeing how it all goes on and the kitchen staff / waiting staff were amazing. Never pass this opportunity up

We arrived a little early but were greeted and seated straight away. The young lady asked if we'd like refreshments, we had a full pot of tea and a cafetiere of coffee brought over and were told if ready our meal would be prepped (afternoon tea). We literally waited 5 minutes and it was brought out to us, the young lady explained what fillings were in the sandwiches and what cakes there were, she said the scones would be warmed and brought out when ready. Although the sandwiches were finger style, they were very generously filled on an assortment of bread and delicious. The cakes were absolutely gorgeous and we actually struggled to eat all of them, but saved enough room for a scone each, only to be brought out 2 cheese and 2 fruit, with butters, clotted cream and individual jams. We were also offered more tea and coffee which was needed to wash down the amount of food we'd eaten. We had never been to the Chequers before and found it to be a chocolate box style establishment that was actually like a tardis and very homely, the background music was great and the young lady that served us couldn't help enough, she wished my disabled mum a happy birthday and was mindful of where we were seated. We shall definately revisit as it was a relaxing, friendly environment, zero pretentiousness which can be off putting.

Staff were very pleasant. New menu from previous visit with excellent choice of starters. A good selection of main dishes. The food was very nice including a carrot cake cheesecake! Drinks are reasonably priced compared to other venues. Only criticism, I felt the staff could have kept a closer eye on the tables in case further drinks ect required. We look forward to another visit.
