This was a last minute booking, but extremely glad we got in, food and service was excellent, nice size portions and excellently cooked Will definitely go there again

Very impressed with the dining room, lovely decor. Were shown to our table and given ample time to choose from the menu. Drinks order taken, we opted for wine which was reasonably priced and both the merlot and sauvignon blanc were very good. The roast chicken Sunday lunch which we both ordered was very well presented and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. A good choice of desserts and we both ordered the apple crumble with cinnamon cream which was really nice but the cream was the squirt type which quickly disintegrates especially when on a warm dessert so we both felt that to serve it with either custard or ice cream would be better. There is also the option to order a smaller dessert together with a hot drink at a set price which for us would probably have been a better choice as the desserts we ordered were huge. For the smaller desserts though maybe a larger choice would be an improvement. We did have tea and coffee afterwards and once again, as with every course, it was beautifully served and the drinks piping hot. We would thoroughly recommend this venue especially for a special occasion. The ambience and the service could not be faulted. The prices are a little on the high side but as a special treat in lovely surroundings we'll worth it.

The bar staff were lovely. They welcomed me and had a chat. Each time we ordered from the bar, they were friendly and polite.

Good beers, staff were helpful putting commentary etc on for us on different screens. Good pub to watch the football
