My husband loves steak and so for his birthday, I decided to make a reservation for our small family of three at Eddie V’s for the first time. Our friends recommended them, especially their bone in rib eye and bananas foster dessert. I made a reservation for a birthday dinner which I noted on Open Table. We went in on a Sunday evening. Very nice atmosphere and a lovely restaurant. We were greeted by our server who was nice. Unfortunately, that very night they ran out of their bone-in rib eye. We had their calamari. And I agree with the other review, it was dry and not fresh. My swordfish steak was “meh”, not so great either. I just felt like none of the seafood we had was fresh but could be that it was just our luck that evening. My son’s fountain-soda root beer was flat and looked like it was watered down! Server said it just looked that way :( o...k... We had the bananas foster dessert, which was yummy. $13 not bad. I was hoping for a little birthday candle, but we didn't get that, even though I mentioned in the beginning again it was my husband’s birthday. For $200 dinner I was expecting a lot better. Oh well...
It is our favorite restaurant - exceptional atmosphere, wonderful food, timely service, attentive management
Came on a Saturday night. We were escorted to our table decorated with red rose petals and a long stemmed pink rose and card. Live jazz music played as the room began to darken in the evening - blue-hued lights lit up the room.
Service was exceptional as usual - all of the staff go above and beyond making sure every need has been attended to. Enjoyed our Fuji Apple salad and shrimp cocktail, the swordfish steak with avocado, crab meat, cilantro and chili sauce, and the parmesan sole, asparagus side, and banana foster. My entree - parmesan sole - was so absolutely wonderful from the lemon butter sauce to the crispy flakey fish - large portion size with beautiful heirloom tomatoes. Loved every bite
This place is amazing. The ambiance, attentive service and the food was topnotch. The waiter ensured that my birthday celebration was special. I highly recommend this place.
This has become my favorite restaurant for celebrating special occasions. It has never failed me in making any occasion special and I am grateful for their consistency and superior service.
The lobster mashed potatoes and lobster tacos are legendary. Their burrata salad with creole tomatoes is a favorite as well. Even though it specializes in seafood, their steaks are a solid home run every time. Try the bacon wrapped filet and be prepared to fall in love.
The service always manages to be both extremely efficient and yet still warm. Although I have been here for both dinner and lunch before, Eddie V's made this evening's birthday celebration a particularly enjoyable experience for our family. We are sure to return and hope you will go as well.
Awesome food as always! And delicious cocktails.
My wife took me here for my b-day and we had an incident not related to the food or service. Both Taylor and Anthony both went out of their way to keep it from ruining our night. Kudos to you both!
This was my second time as I do not live in the area but our local office is right across the street. We started with the calamari appetizer. This dish is to die for! Lots of calamari but has rice, nuts, bean sprouts, peppers which just elevate it to the NEXT level...simply delicious! The apps here are so good and as a matter of fact two out of the 4 of us got an app as the meal. One was crab cake (one is plenty big enough for a meal along with their delicious Brussel sprouts - if you like those). Another in the party got scallop and they were cooked to perfection. My dinner was a 6oz filet with "shrimp scampi" on top. It was a beautiful masterpiece. the filet was cooked a perfect medium and melted in your mouth - then they put two large shrimp mixed in a scampi sauce on top and asparagus on the bottom. This meal was so amazing and all the flavors blended together. I'm not sure if they offer the "shrimp scampi" all the time or if it was a special on the night I was there but it's great! For dessert we were pretty full so we just ordered the smores and split amongst up. it was heavenly - chocolate and marshmallow deliciousness. In terms of the location, it's definitely a hot spot. They have a live band playing and its was bustling. It was a bit loud and a very fun atmosphere. The service was wonderful, they mentioned the party name several times, asked if we had been there before, offered to pair wine with our meals. Food came out timely and appropriately. A manager stopped by to be sure we were having a great meal. The waiter asked if my steak was cooked properly - very attentive. Asked to refill wine as it got low, etc. There are some very nice window seats - I would recommend when you make your reservation if you can request those - there is a nice view. Overall, I'd give Eddie Vs a 5 star. From beginning to end it was top notch service and the meal was spectacular! I would recommend if you are in the area, you should definitely go and have a wonderful dinner.
Superb seafood and very attentive service. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing.
I got immediate stomach pains and took TUMS and alkaseltzer once I left. The portions were very small and overpriced. The band was so loud, we couldn’t talk to the other side of the table until half way through dinner when the stopped playing. The 22ounce ribeye ended up being less than 8. The swordfish was maybe 3 ounces. All in all, very surprised at how much we didn’t like Eddie V’s. My husband and I paid the $400 check for the 4 of us.
Eddie V's is an excellent restaurant for a special occasion or just a night out on the town. The restaurant has a large lounge which has excellent live music; meals are served in both the restaurant and the lounge. The restaurant has an excellent selection of beef and seafood as well as a large winelist. Service can be a little slow in the dining room during peak Saturday night hours.
Wonderful evening. Great atmosphere. Music was terrific. Food delicious.
We love Eddie V's. Our first experience was in the one in Pittsburgh.
It is a little over an hour 's drive but well worth it.
3rd time at this restaurant. First two times it was awesome and was so looking forward to this meal. Made reservations over 2 weeks ago, but ended up being sat in the bar area. They had a band playing and my wife and I ended up have to yell across the table for us to hear each other. Not the atmosphere I expect when eating at an expensive restaurant. Food was just ok. Food presentation was poor and it really looked like it was being rushed out of the kitchen.
I would have given EddieV’s an overall 5 stars but the noise level (hard surfaces, live music, loud bar area) made it very uncomfortable to try to have conversation with friends we hadn’t seen for a long time. The food is exceptional—beautifully presented and delicious and the service wonderful—attentive but not intrusive. I guess it is my fault for not checking the website before going to a place the first time, but I wish the staff had given a heads up of the high decibel level when they called to confirm reservation. We will go again, but ask for a quieter area!
Top level service. Everything was excellent from food to service. Everyone need to check this spot out.
Amazing food, drinks and service. Food was well prepared and presented.
We decided to celebrate our anniversary at Eddie V’s, a restaurant we’d never visited before. We knew in advance it was pricey but our concern was the quality of the food and the service. Well, Eddie V’s did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service beyond reproach. I ordered the steamed Chilean sea bass and my wife the filet mignon. The fare was delicious and tasted of fresh ingredients. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a new dining experience.
We were celebrating our anniversary and greeted with a long stem rose, a card, rose petals and a complimentary glass of champagne. Our server Murat was excellent- attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was very busy yet we didn’t feel it in the service. Our complimentary dessert was amazing!
Great place! Love the WASHINGTON oysters!
Great ambience. Food was for the most part very good. Mac and cheese side came out cold and was supposed to be replaced but forgotten about. Wait staff was very pleasant but slow and disorganized. We had two assigned servers which clearly created confusion.
We will try it again hoping it was just an off night for staff.
It was an amazing experience as it always is! Our server was phenomenal and so very personable which I really enjoyed. The food was amazing and very tasty. Our cocktails were tasty as well, and the presentation was great. Management walked around and asked us were we enjoying our dinner and experience. Everything was great!
The experience, service, and ambiance made for a wonderful date night and birthday celebration!!!’We will be back again.
Awesome management follow up!
Fabulous waiter, made our evening.
Great food, always prepared fantastic.
Never feel rushed here and my guests loved it.
We were here for a birthday dinner and the service and food were superb!!
Always consistent - love the atmosphere and the attentive service. The seafood here is a standout and both lunch and dinner menus have a very appealing selection of excellently prepared entrees.
Excellent service and ambiance. Great food. Acknowledged our special occasion verbally and with a decorated table as well as complimentary dessert/drinks! Enjoyed ourselves immensely:)
Awesome, great food, wonderful service! Incredible follow up by management.
Went here to celebrate my Husbands birthday. Excellent customer service, delicious food - this place exceeded our expectations!!!
Our visit to Eddie V’s was highlighted by the gracious hospitality of manager Anthony Guerra.
The shrimp cocktail is the best of any top steak/seafood house in greater DC and the Filet of Sole was perfectly prepared and served.
The bananas foster for dessert was special.
The live music on a Monday was an extra special treat.
*five star dining and service
Thank you Anthony
Ezra and Alex made our day for my friends birthday!
Food was delicious, service was outstanding, but there was a band in the bar & it made it very difficult to hear in the dining room. Otherwise, it was perfect for the occasion.
It was very loud, even in the corner of the dining room, on a Saturday night. Pretty sure those people dining in the bar area couldn’t hear each other speak. So they were all talking VERY loudly to be heard over the music.
Many people were not dressed in appropriately attire. Lots of jeans and flip flops, as well as saggy pants and work boots. A few Lycra cat suits.
Our server was very busy, and left us for very long periods. My husband finally flagged him down for another glass of wine to enjoy with his appetizer. But it took so long (10-12 minutes) to arrive, that he basically ate his appetizer without wine, which was a bummer.
My steak was over cooked. That said, the replacement came pretty fast. The steaks were flavorful and well seasoned. The sides were good.
So, bottom line, we are discerning diners and we expect a lot. Eddie V’s did not meet our expectations. It wasn’t BAD. But it wasn’t great either. We won’t be back.
Outstanding service. (need fifty characters minimum)
Great consistent restaurant and great attentive service. Interesting menu and plenty of choices.
Love this place. It took a while to get seated even though we had reservations. I suppose it’s because everyone else loves the place too. Great food. The calamari is incredible. The service very professional. Love the live music (we came on a Friday night). Would certainly come back.
Danean was so friendly and efficient. Anthony made us feel very special, and part of the family.
Lobster tacos surprised us...we placed an additional order they were that good. After another appetizer of tuna tartar that was top notch we opted for the lobster pot appetizer as a great choice as an entree for the table (3 dining) with a side of so-so truffle Mac and cheese.
Our waiter David was exceptional and enjoyed his good nature and sense of humor....floor managers probably would have liked to turn our table a bit sooner but with two bottles of wine plus cocktails a customer shouldnt be aware of their desire to turn as quick as their average turn.
Overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience.
Loved my dining experience. Will definitely be back ...
