Proper 21, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper and Proper West, opened in early October 2016. Located at 1319 F Street NW, Proper 21 is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21 is the third location of NIEUW Group Inc. Like its predecessors, located in New York City, Proper 21 serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events. Proper 21 requests reservations be made 45 minutes in advance.

    The best vibes, architecture, and menu. Wine lovers, this is legit. Real options and everything by the glass or even half glass (perfect for tasting several selections). The gluten free menu is amazing, and the attention to detail for those who have celiac is impressive. Food is spectacular with a nod to the most incredible pork chop I've ever eaten. Don't miss the cheesecake for the finale either, it is simply ridiculous (in the very best way)!

    Tarina was our server and she is exceptional, a true world class employee! It was our first night in from San Antonio and we wanted to lay low after traveling all day and explore the hotel offerings. We did the Duckpin bowling which was so fun for kids and adults. The lobster rolls were delicious, I love the buttered toast they were made with. Really what made the entire experience though was Tarina and her 5 star customer service, she really set the tone for the rest of our stay. Thank you Tarina!!
