Nines is an unfussy neighborhood spot. The focus is on quality food and drink, excellent service, comfort, and ease. The cooking references the Riviera (both the French and Italian) and the farms that surround this neighborhood. There are two outdoor areas overlooking the little town center of beautiful Germantown. The bar is lively (and chic!) but the atmosphere is family-friendly. Dinner every day except Thursday. Lunch on weekends. Happy Hour 5-6pm.

Market Place Tavern is the latest concept and restaurant for Market Hospitality Group (MHG). The Tavern which overlooks the Litchfield Green, is the oldest public building in town and one of the oldest penal facilities in the state. It was built in 1812 to serve as a jail for British prisoners during the War of 1812. A cell block and a three-story wing with additional cell blocks, which now is part of the restaurant’s bar area, was added in 1846. The jail closed in 1992 and was used as a treatment center for men serving prison sentences. It shut down again in 1993 and reopened in 1994 as a rehabilitation center for women facing incarceration. When that center closed, the state decided to sell it.The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and features “American Tavern Food” with Craft Beers and Cocktails made with local spirits.     What a gem! First time visiting and Chef Ryan created the perfect meal for a wonderful Sunday night dinner. The restaurant was full and had a great vibe. Lively but not hectic. The aesthetics of Nines was casual but with a healthy dash of class. Duck prosciutto and radishes/anchovies kicked off our dinner. Delicious. We followed that with pickled green tomatoes and the lamb meatballs. Could have eaten that all night long. The sauce was perfect but not overpowering. For mains, we had the crab spaghetti and swordfish skewers. Highly, highly recommended. Avery and Ryan are doing something special in Germantown. If you're near anywhere near Nines, this is a must destination for a great night out.

    I cannot wait to go back! The food was really good and the wait staff was surprising attentive. If you go, plan to walk around near the Hudson river bank - the view is great. You get to enjoy a great meal with wonderful views of the river and boat traffic

    Dined alone at the bar. The bartender (male, I forget his name) was very accommodating and made me feel very comfortable as I was from out of town.
