Founded by restaurateur Marno McDermott and former Green Bay Packers player Max McGee in 1975, Chi-Chi's quickly became a beloved staple in the American dining scene. Initially opened in Richfield, Minnesota, the restaurant stood out with its vibrant Mexican "eatery" concept, enticing guests with family dining in a Mexican garden atmosphere and offering superb food and pitchers of margaritas. By the late 1970s, McDermott and McGee had successfully expanded Chi-Chi's into major cities like Cincinnati and Indianapolis, with future plans for further growth in cities such as Detroit and Tampa.

Hola Arepa is a tropical paradise in the heart of South Minneapolis serving Venezuelan-style stuffed arepas and Latin American-influenced small plates and a mostly gluten free menu. Chef Christina Nguyen and her partner, Birk Grudem started Hola Arepa as a food truck in 2011 and opened this brick and mortar location three years later. They wanted to bring home the flavors and vibes they experienced on their travels through small beach towns in South America, Central America and Mexico. Complementing the vibrant flavors of the food are tropical craft cocktails including slushies and the best margarita in the city. Open 7 nights a week, happy hour everyday except Friday & Saturday and brunch on the weekends with a sunny patio open all summer long and a 4 seasons patio that is dog friendly year round.

    It's always a great experience, disestablishment really has providing a great meal to a science. Feels like a very high-end restaurant and experience, but it is so unbelievably less expensive than places like Pittsburgh Blue, which by the way we like that restaurant as well but man are they a lot more money

    First time dining here and will definitely be back. Our waitress Audrey was exceptional, great recommendations, very prompt and polite. Everything was spot on from the drinks and the food and the atmosphere and the service - they even went the extra mile and called me when I mistakenly left my jacket on the back of my chair. I will be back! Thank you!
