Great place for Italian! Delicious flavors and perfect portions for amazing food. All the pasta is made in house and the sauces are fantastic. Highly recommend!
Wonderful service! The food tasted amazing. Highly recommend.
I booked the restaurant a few weeks in advance for Valentine’s Day after reading many great reviews. We arrived at 9:30PM after seeing a show at Kennedy Center. We were promptly seated and provided a prix fixed menu. Course after course it was a complete let down. The foie gras starter tasted slightly rancid and had a chewy texture. The pastas were not memorable and seemed somewhat bland. The main courses we had were a sea bass and filet. The sea bass came out undercooked in the center and we had to ask to cook it more. When it was brought back out, it had a very pungent fish smell. It didn’t smell right and we just asked to have it boxed. We actually thought something had been done to it after being recooked because prior it did not have a bad fish smell. We ended up throwing it away in the trash outside of the restaurant for how bad it smelled. The desserts were stale and seemed cheaply prepared. They didn’t taste like anything special. For all the great reviews I was expecting something more. This place is below average at best. This experience was a waste of time and money.
Valentines pre-fix menu. Food choices were good. Description was inventive and presentation was good. The Todd taste leaned toward bland. Not bad but not memorable either.
Came here on Valentine's Day with a smaller menu and a set price. Thought that all of the items ordered were delicious. Even with the limited menu and knowing that I would split with my partner, some of the decisions were still difficult. Definitely planning to go back to experience the full menu.
First time to Floriana and loved it! Meal proportion sizes were perfect and food was amazing. Quiet atmosphere to have good dinner conversation. Great for a small group for dinner.
This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. The food is always delicious. The ambiance is perfect for "date night" and the service is over the top. What more could you ask for? Again, we were very pleased.
AMAZING. One of the best places we've eaten in D.C.! Everything was perfect, from the food to the service to the ambiance. Can't wait to come back!
Fantastic brunch experience at Floriana. Food is great and well-priced, and service is excellent! Sunday’s and Wednesday’s they have half-priced bottles of wine.
The place was wonderful. I would like to give a shoutout to our waiter who helped guide us through the menu and recommends that apple Tart which was amazing. Defitnlet coming back for more
If you're looking for a "New-York" style restaurant, this is a great spot. Food is excellent, service is great. Can be a bit loud and crowded on the weekends, but a great spot during the week without the crowd. Suggestion: Go early and spend time in the downstairs bar while you wait for your table!
We celebrated an award winning teacher, and our server made her feel extra special. The food was wonderful. The lasagna was perfect.
What an amazing experience
Black gnocchi and aransini apps recommended by our server were both delicious
Seafood risotto enriched with truffle oil was to die for, my friend ‘s pappardelle was also outstanding
We wanted to share a bottle of red and our server Marco suggested the perfect wine
Homemade tiramisu’ and panna cotta were both moist and delicious
This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. They have wonderful food especially their signature lasagna. I had the arancini appetizer as my entree and it was plenty for an entree and absolutely great. They have half-priced wines by the bottle on Sundays and Wednesday which makes it even more enticing. It is warm, cozy with a dedicated staff. You must go!
Great food and service. I took a friend here for her birthday dinner. They were very accommodating with the table seating, my special requests and provided a cute birthday treat and card for my date!
The Mussels were amazing and the broth was so good that I wanted to get more bread to soak it up!
Our main dishes were tasty and served in a timely fashion.
I will definitely be back!
So delicious! Our server was wonderful and attentive. Wine was priced fairly, the pasta was so SO good, and the tiramisu was a lovely way to end the meal. Only qualm- I noted in the reservation that it was for a birthday, and yet two tables around us got birthday candles and cake but we didn’t! Other than that it was a great experience.
Excellent Sunday dinner for two; a velvety potato and fennel soup; sautéed salmon and a filet mignon, both accurately cooked, attractive to look at and so tasty; and an expresso chocolate mousse with real whipped cream. Couple that with a supple Dolcetto by Pio Caesare at half price(for all wines on Sundays) and you have yourself a quality meal and a real D.C. value. My partner and I are regulars after we go to an Arena Theatre matinee. Even our co patrons are generally fun at that early seating, but that may just be luck. The food and service are not by dint of good fortune but skill, always very good and consistent. Have never had a bad meal there and that is counting on both my fingers and toes.
This was our best experience at this resto! Been many times and we walked away impressed
This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant. We went there on a very cold night for my husband's birthday. The appetizer of liver mousse was very good and a very large portion.m the black gnocchi with sausage and seafood is always excellent. For my main dish, I tried the porcini ribeye. It was tasty and cooked to the correct temperature though it was a little tough. My husband's pasta with Sunday gravy was full of meat. There was enough for us to take home and share for dinner the next day. Our waitress brought a complimentary dessert (our choice) with a candle and, thankfully, no singing. The service was excellent.
Our lunch was so relaxing and 1/2 price wine was an extra bonus . Our waiter was very nice and professional and not over baring and give us great recommendations.
Will recommend to my friends ... We will be back !!!
Food and service was excellent!
Floriana's is a neighborhood gem! The staff are super attentive, food is delicious, and atmosphere is cozy. We made a reservation on Open Table and then needed to modify due to one of the guest's late plane arrival. Open table showed no options but when I called, they were extremely accommodating!
This is one of our two favorite places in the neighborhood! and in DC!!
Dinner with my parents who were in town visiting.
We had a great anniversary night here. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate and we were very pleased with everything throughout the evening. The only negative was getting our table a half hour after our reservation time, but that was a small inconvenience and after we were seated we understood that it was busy for a reason. We started out at Dito's bar downstairs while we waited for the table and it was packed probably due to the impecable service and friendly atmosphere. When we got to our table, again we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm and the other patrons seemed just as enthused to be there as we were. The server was attentive but not obnoxiously so and his help selecting a bottle of wine was spot on. The appetizers were delicious and the calamari was perfect and fresh, not greasy like it can be. We both loved our entrees, and the deserts were an excellent end to the whole meal. We couldn't have asked for much more.
Best calamari I’ve ever had! Excellent service, cute, DC-original vibe.
Excellent food and service
Came here for a lovely restaurant week experience!
My friends and I went for restaurant week and had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the tortellini mignon - filling, delicious, and a dish I never would have imagined working together. Our server was so attentive and kind and gave us great advice on entree preferences.
Love, love their food! Their staff is very friendly and the restaurant is cute and romantic. Definitely recommend this place.
I was happy with the meal overall except for the dessert. I had a peach and cherry tart. The peach pieces were kind of chewy and I imagine that this was prepared and baked either the day before and day of and reheated. Otherwise I enjoyed the restaurant and whenever I come to DC I make it a point to have a meal at Floriana on one of the nights that the wines are half price. The fact that I was here during Restaurant Week was coincidental coincidental a d a pleasant surprise.
Yes if they want a slightly dingy, well worn eatery. The pluses: good neighborhood place, friendly staff
Mediocre, pricey Italian food with little to no personality. Cute location though.
Bad service, and even worse food. Floriana has really declined over the years. Our 3 brunch dishes were simply uneatable, and given the service we had it didn't even seem worth it to ask for a manager. What a shame.
Entrees were great. Salads were mediocre. Still a good restaurant, just don’t get a salad. Three people in our group and that was the only negative. Lasagna and fish dishes were excellent.
Went for Restaurant Week, Location is in a Brown stone with dining rooms on different levels. The menu has a variety of dish we had Scallops on Risotto, the gnocchi, and lasagna, all were very good. Service was good even though it was very busy. Only negative is no parking and it is not easy to find street parking in this area. I would go again.
Frankly, I was thoroughly disappointed by this meal. We went for brunch and paid a fortune for some very mediocre food that took forever to be prepared. We paid $13 for the bread plate, since they do not provide bread with brunch, and what we got was a collection of a half-dozen pastries cut in half. The omelettes were a bit cold when they were served, though the taste was fine, but the salad was wilted on my plate. One of our party was served slices of fat instead of meat, but the waiter brought an alternative meat for her. The service was fine, just slow. I imagine it's better for dinner, but I don't think I'd go back.
Our server was excellent. Good sense of humor. The food was delicious. The steak had a good flavor and melted in your mouth
I love this place! Been here many times and always a good experience. The food is delicious and the service is the best I've ever received in DC. The location is in a beautiful townhouse and has two floors of dining space. Very "shabby chic" and inviting with the large windows, fireplace, and hardwood floors. The basement bar (Dito's) is not to be missed. Dito is a pleasure! He's always welcoming and makes the small and intimate bar area feel like an insider's secret retreat. The best part is the Nancy Pelosi Christmas tree out front!
Noise level in upstairs dining room was very high; had hard time hearing the waiter. The Hubbard Pappardelle with a boar ragu was very good! The arancini was a bit disappointing -- thought it would have more flavor.
We couldn't eat either of the two desserts offered during restaurant week -- the tiramisu contained alcohol and the espresso chocolate dessert contained caffeine. However, the waiter kindly offered an alternative, a pear and cherry tart, which was very good. So I would give Floriana a thumbs up!
The pasta kind of dish is very good, the meat and seafood dish is less perfect. I recommend to have all the pasta related dishes. We tried many kind, they are all good, but avoid the meat and seafood dish.
