My husband took me here last night for my birthday dinner. The do have a pre fix menu for Monday evening but we wanted to try more items and was hungry so we did not do the pre fix menu. The food was amazing in presentation and in taste. My husband ordered the duck breast and I ordered the filet mignon. Both cooked perfectly. The hand crafted specialty drinks were amazing. Highly recommend the High Tea. The Red Rocks was a little too sweet for me but I wanted to try it. It was good but the High Tea was much much better as I prefer drier drink. We will definitely be back.
The food was excellent. The server was great. It was just a little too dark and the food took quite long but overall it was an awesome choice.
Floriana is constantly a WOW! The food is the best! Incredible hand made pastas that are hands down the best in DC, let alone the appetizers desserts and entrees are out of this world. The gnocchi was sublimely textured with a braised Chianti sauce that was perfectly balanced. The bruschetta was fresh and summery, with perfectly ripe tomatoes. The chocolate mousse was divinely rich but light and smooth. Nothing here is a ‘throw away’ with substandard ingredients or poor follow through- only perfection! Even the parsley and almond pesto they provide with the bread is incredible! The service was impeccable and so warm and accommodating. We will always come back!
Staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The fried Brussel sprouts and Sunday gravy was excellent. Thank you Floriana for making this anniversary a special one.
Food was good, there was a musty smell in the restaurant when we first walked in. Sadly both of the chairs at our table were stained (looked like with gum).
The service was great and food came out very quickly!
The food was fantastic. Calamari best we ever had. Tomato sauce is grand. Service (our waiter, Michael) was far more than 5 stars!
The food and the service was excellent. A few years back I happened upon Floriana by chance. I tried it and had a wonderful meal and an all around great experience . When I was on business again in DC this week, I made sure to visit this fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant again. I was not disappointed. The food and the experience was as wonderful as it was the first time I visited!
This was our third visit! Love the fresh, local food. Excellent preparations, good wine list. Very homey. Desserts made inhouse!
It was a very busy as we expected. Service was very good - they kept our water glasses full as requested. My husband enjoyed his entree - Sunday Gravy, however I didn't enjoy mine (Seared Scallops). Presentation was lovely, but I was expecting more flavor from the puree, as well as the cauliflower didn't appear to be cooked. (I was expecting them to be roasted or even slightly sauteed.) Absolutely loved the housemade pesto and warm bread along with the salumi and fromaggio.
My adult kids and I went here on a Wednesday evening, just in search of decent pasta. We got so much more!
The lobster gnocchi was to die for, and my son loved the butternut squash/duck gnocchi. My daughter had the burrata ravioli and her only complaint was that she needed a few more (her portion size seemed a little small compared to ours).
The drinks were fabulous too. We loved The Speaker martini.
Altho stuffed, we all opted for desserts, which did not disappoint (except the very weird apple tart, which they took off our bill).
Also, this place is more likely to make Dems happy in this partisan town. They are clearly fans of Speaker Pelosi, as are we, so all good.
Great service and great food!! Will for sure be dining again!
One of our favorites in the Dupont Circle area. Beautiful restaurant and very cozy plus romantic. They have a good selection of wines too. We highly recommend the lasagna...it's amazing!
Spent a lot of time swatting away gnats and a spider in my table. Perhaps due to nature of summer. OK but wasn't blown away by food or service.
Food was very good. 20% tup charged without warning for 4 people was unwarranted. They should notify people of the surcharge. NOT GOOD RESTAURANT PRACTICE
I went for my boyfriend’a birthday and it was amazing! Food was delicious and service was great!
So lovely outside with the excellent food. It is such a wonderful restaurant for the neighborhood.
Delicious from beginning to end. My husband and I shared a cheese plate, green salad, and the lasagna. All were exceptional. The only recommendation I would have is when the cheese plate is served, they could have told us what the cheeses were. Other than that, service was top notch and everybody was extremely welcoming.
Started with the Arancini. It was well prepared but very spicy. Then had the caprese which was good. Lamb pasta was the entree and it was bland. Chocolate mousse was dessert. Service was just ok..nothing great. Ambiance was beautiful...outside seating. Perfect for my date and I.
Always a great meal. Great ambiance! Awesome staff.
We had dined here when in town a few years ago and choose to celebrate our 35th anniversary here during a recent visit. Both times the atmosphere was lovely and welcoming, both for our special occasion or night out with friends. The wild boar pappardelle was delicious as was the onion soup and calamari appetizers. And the desserts, tiramisu and chocolate mousse were divine. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the service was well timed, allowing us to dine in a very relaxed manner. We are looking forward to returning the next time we are in town.
Wonderful setting and meal. Thank you!
My friends and I had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was fine. We have all been here before and will definitely return.
We loved this restaurant. Great menu, excellent service. The best selection of pasta entrees ever. All in all a great experience. Will definitely eat there again the next time we are in DC.
Food was fair. Waiter not friendly. Water warm
Bread good... best part of meal
Caesar salad was warm.. don’t go.. go Tortino instead
This was my first time to dine at Floriana. The food was very good; service was good; and the room was very nice. But the lighting was so weak and poor, that it dampened what would have been a nice evening. We were seated near the window so the remaining daylight allowed us to read the menu, but after dinner we read the bill with the help of an iPhone light. The recessed lighting and candles were so weak. The restaurant owners should showcase the beauty of the rooms with proper lighting.
We had an amazing dining experience ! The food was exceptional, the staff Bat and Matthew, our waiter were incredibly personable and knowledgeable. A very memorable evening! A 5+ rating !!
Amazing place. Great food, affordable price, great service.
Service was slow. Super noisy. Food was not very good.
Nice outdoor seating
Great deal on the 35$ 3-course menu (apparently available on Mondays and Tuesdays)
Would go again
Food is always great, service is usually hit or miss. I would recommend sitting at the downstairs bar as the bartenders are always on top of their game.
Always an amazing dining experience. We sat on the front patio this time. Dinner was great and the service was impeccable.
To be honest, the food simply wasn't that good relative to the price paid. Not flavorful...just meh.
I was really hoping it was going to be better. I wouldn't consider going back.
Service was good but the food was underwhelming. Ceaser salad had warm lettuce and the entrees were plain. Highlight was the dessert and waitstaff.
I do love Floriana's food but I would recommend dinner over lunch. Service was quite slow though for the limited amount of customers. I also would implore them to include their lunch menu on the weekends in addition to brunch.
We had a lovely evening. We were able to sit outside which facilitated our ability to converse. The service was most responsive. The meal was delicious; we shared entrees & a salad. We were given desserts, since we all had birthdays in May.
Well......I used to be a fan but.... well not now. Food was not particularly fresh and the special I had was not really tasty or well prepared. That said, because we liked it so much in the past we may return but we may not.
What a lovely restaurant. We ordered some of their signature dishes (lasagna, duck breast, panne cotta) and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent. We will definitely dine there again when we return to DC.
Great lasagna. Excellent place especially on 1/2 price wine nights!
It pains me to write a review for this place. For only one reason and that is I just don’t need more people making reservations that could keep me from getting in. I travel to DC for Hill Visits every year and I book my reservation here before I book my airline tickets. Typically I try to eat here more than once during my five day visit. If that doesn’t tell you how good it is then you should probably go to one of the thousands of other great places in this city to eat.
Our reservation was at 1:00 and we got there a few minutes early. The table was waiting, service was wonderful and the meal was great. We'll go back, for sure!
