My boyfriend and I came here for Restaurant Week yesterday, and had a terrible experience. There was no one else in the restaurant, and were were being rushed from the time we arrived for our reservation. I felt like we are being racially profiled, (Black couple) based on the comments made by the hostess making it seem as if we couldn’t afford to eat here, or had no experience eating foreign dishes such as calamari. After seeing the regular menu we decided not to go with the RW options. The hostess was very nasty towards us, and when my boyfriend explained why we decided to leave, she continued to be nasty. I do not recommend, and I will not return.
Great dinner there at 6 pm on Saturday. Good for us, there was only one couple there when we arrived, and three there when we left. So great service, delicious food. My wife had the lamb chops and I had the shrimp (prix fixe menu). Easy walk from the Farragut West Metro stop. It was a little expensive, but we will likely come back again.
Since the change in management, food quality has been inconsistent. I have been at brunch wherein all the entrees we ordered tasted really good. However, yesterday, there was a heavy hand of salt in all the entrees we ordered. The squid appetizer and prasini salad were too salty, we had to return all those. The salad included in the salmon Benedict was also heavy handed in the salt department. The chef and staff were very quick give us either a different choice or replaced our chosen entrees. Wait staff has always been attentive I’ve but also understand that staff is not in full complement given the Covid-related protocols and restrictions

If you are uncomfortable or unsure about your ability to be open then let guests know you’re trying. But, don’t blame the guest for reserving a table and expecting decent food and service.
The Octopus at this restaurant is OUTSTANDING. I strongly recommend it.
We had an office luncheon for about 30 people. The food and service was outstanding. I had the salmon business lunch which was delicious. The preparation was perfect- which means the fish was well seasoned, fully cooked but moist and the serving was very generous. The party went off flawlessly, and I received a lot of compliments about the meal. Will be back!

The character of the restaurant has changed. Covid clearly has impacted the look and feel of the restaurant. That’s too bad. The food is still great. The service is ok but they need more wait staff and servers and they are hard to find in this environment.
The food and service was excellent. We ordered our lamb chops medium rare, but they were medium (at least!) when they arrived at our table. When I complained about this, they offered to replace them -- but I declined. Restaurants should realize that recooking an order dish still spoils a dinner. I didn't come to the restaurant just to fill my face; I cam to eat dinner with my friends. The restaurant tried very hard to make up for the mistake. They brought out an extra order of lamb chops, done medium rare; they also gave me a complimentary glass of wine, and took the amount I'd pay for the overdone lamb off the check. I was quite impressed with what they did, so much that I will surely return to this restaurant and give them another chance to do the lamb right!
I love Kellari and go there frequently for great food, special care in the service. Last night with my wife and son, we got neither. We sat and sat waiting for attention, had two different waiters come to take our orders, and received nothing other than water — not the bread I had asked for or the wine I ordered — for the first half hour. And the entrees were room temperature, not hot when they arrived. Especially given my long history with the restaurant, I was severely bummed. The family had been so looking forward to it.
We haven't been out at an indoor restaurant for a while but we were very pleased with the service and food here. We both started with the grilled calamari which were very delicious and generous portions.
My husband had the fish of the day which was an excellent red snapper over asparagus risotto. I had the seafood linguine which was superb with a greek flare. We finished with the greek yogurt cheescake. YUM!
We look forward to our next visit.

Some of the worst food & service I've experienced in DC in a while. We were 1 of 3 tables in the whole restaurant. Service was slow, incredbily slow. Food was cold and clearly cooked from frozen (broccoli, fish special, etc.). They didn't check on the table when food was brought otherwise we would have let them known the calamari was supposed to be fried not grilled and the entrees were cold. We did correct them when they served Sauvignon Blanc when we requested Cabernet Sauvignon. but wish we hadn't since it took a long time to correct the issue.

One waiter for 7 tables made service very slow. The sides were overpriced. The music was too loud. Bread was cold and not toasted. For such a pricey location, we had to ask for additional paper napkins. Instead of raw oysters, how about grilled oysters.

Slow! We arrived early for our reservation & that may be the problem, but it was hard to get any attention. Server was very nice. Food was good as always.
Good quality Greek food, very good Greek wine selection. Excellent service.
This is one of my go to places. The business lunch is excellent and usually quick. I think they are having some post-Covid staffing issues, because the pace of service is not up to the usual. That's certainly to be expected these days.

Food was great! Our server was wonderful and the restaurant was not loud at all. We went for brunch and we were pleased with the menu.
Very good food and service. However, the appetizer portions were ridiculously small.
Service is hit or miss. But the food is really good. Sunday brunch is a very good value and parking is convenient.
Both of us had a whole fish entree which were very good. Mostly deboned but not totally, so be careful. Excellent Greek Salad. Extensive wine list but nothing in the $35-50 range. Service got better as the dinner progressed but was never warm. My wife and I both felt neglected on arrival and after being seated. Open space softly lighted. Would probably return as I like to give second chances and the food was quite good.

Terrible disappointment. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants before COVID- but it has clearly suffered a fatal blow that will be difficult to recover. The service is abysmal, staff are overwhelmed, badly trained and obviously unfamiliar with their food they are sipped to serve. The wine list and. Solar has been entirely depleted. No bread was served, the noise level was unbearable although the restaurant was quite empty. No fish on display as before the COVID situation. To top it all, our table was charged twice for the service charge. This place is on death row and not worth it anymore.
The service was so bad, and the waiters were very rude.
We sat there for 30 minutes before we were asked for our orders. It took them over an hour to serve the food COLD.
We ordered business lunch but the waiter failed to write that down.
The food was a lot better the last time I visited. Service was good. I didn’t like that a 20% gratuity was added to our check for a party of two. I don’t think I’ll visit again.

Thrilled that this restaurant is open for lunch in downtown DC. Business lunches are gearing up and many locations are only open for dinner. Kellari Taverna has a lovely seafood selection with a Greek tilt. Outstanding service and plenty of space between tables for comfortable business or personal conversation.
Something is terribly wrong at this place, which used to be very good quality of food and service. Service was mediocre and my food arrived cold. Paper menus were dirty, should have been first clue that this restaurant is under new management or spiraling after the pandemic.
