   It was busy. We waited 15 minutes to get water and be greeted by the server. Then the appetizers came before the beverages. We waited 40 min after ordering for sushi rolls. It was all a bit discombobulated.

   Dinner with friends, we enjoyed great food and service. Items arrived at an appropriately leisurely pace allowing us to chat while enjoying the evening. We had an excellent server who was attentive to our group even though it was quite busy. We'll certainly be back.

   We definitely enjoyed our time. I did not catch our waitress's name, but she was amazing. The food was great. Drinks were great. The environment was great. Management & the cook came out to check on us in addition to the waitress, and that was a plus.

   I made a reservation over a week ago for 5:30 last night, when I got there I was told I could sit outside or at the sushi bar. My friend did not want to sit outside, so I told them that. One person sis forget had a high top, however then it was give to someone else. So many people were going there without a reservation and being seated. We left and went to the Ramen place next door, their food was good. I won’t be going back to Kona grill again.

    Never had an issue like this at Kona til this night. Made reservations for 8pm, got in 10 mins. early. They offered to sit us up stairs and when we got there no employee was there, and when the bartender finally addressed us they said the bar is closed and we have to go back down. No big deal. Got back to the hostess to let them know and after waiting a few to get their attention, we were given the option to sit inside or out. The restaurant seemed a bit busy so we opted to go to the outdoor area. We sat down at about 8pm like I planned. It was here that it took about 20 minutes, after attempting to get any of the servers attention. I walked up to the bar area and finally asked to get someone to assist us. After about a half hour of sitting with only 4 other tables around us getting serviced, someone finally approached us. The food was good, and the manager was apologetic. They attempted to make it right by comping our appetizers and dessert. It was a nice gesture but definitely reconsidering coming back.

    This was my first time at Kona Grill and the food/drinks were great! Can’t beat the prices on the happy hour. Only issue is we were sat next to the bar at a high top and the door to the patio, right next to us, was broken so it wouldn’t open or shut properly. So we were constantly getting up to close it and stop the draft. Also felt bad for the servers working the patio because they struggled with it. Other than that minor inconvenience, it was very good. I should’ve asked to be seated somewhere else but it was packed so I didn’t bother.

    Hostess are always rude and clueless. Having reservations means nothing. Hawaiian or Samoan male manager very rude and inconsiderate. Sat my handicapped father in a booth he struggled to get in and out of (even though a table was available) walked so quickly to table again handicapped father couldn’t keep up. He put menus on table and walked away. Father and mothers burge and Mahi dinners arrived before my sashimi appetizer. They were half done before our sushi appetizer and sushi roll meals were delivered. Food is good.

    We really like the food at Kona, and we get that club atmosphere, but not at 6:00 pm. Reserve that for the 9:00 pm and after crowd. Blasting music and dining really don’t mix. Hard to enjoy your meal and conversation when you have to shout.

    We came to celebrate my besties birthday. We love it here bc of the variety of food choices. She ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was really good. I had the shrimp tacos, it said it came w a side salad or soup that I never got, I actually just recalled that so ima need a discount. The best time to visit this place is during happy hour but we got there at 8 so nothing was happy about that but we stayed past 9 so we had a happy hour cocktail. We also orders sushi which was good and I forgot what my sister got but she loved it. Our server was ✨David✨ and he was awesome. Made us laugh and gave great recommendations. We will be back but not any time soon if we are being honest. P.S. y’all know damn well that calamari is not worth no $19… pls be for real. Onions with 4 peppers and like 8 Calamari to disguise the amount of calamari that was actually there??? Nice try, y’all. Give a decent amount of calamari or lower the price bc that’s whack. Thank u for coming to my Ted Talk.

    First let me say the food is always so good here. Super flavorful ! We sat in a booth by the kitchen. The only complaint I have is the guy always YELLING orders to the cooks. You would think they’d find a better way of doing this. Super annoying and LOUD !! Word of advice… Ask for a table or booth far away from the kitchen Yeller… Other than that, the food is always so good. Our server was very attentive as always when we’ve come for lunch or dinner. The other servers are always willing to help if needed. Happy hour is great and has a few good choices of food and drink specials. Their regular menu is diverse with some great apps and entrees. Sunday brunch was great as well. Bottomless Mimosas, can’t go wrong there… If no other tables are available other than near the kitchen, bring your earplugs. Aloha 🤙🏼

    Food and service were overall very good, the wagyu steak with the surf and turf was very bland and disappointing as that was the reason we chose the restaurant. Would skip ordering it next but we will go back

    Used Open Table to reserve dinner for two on Valentines Day. There was a special that was promoted through Open Table specifically for Valentines Day. Once I got there for our reservation, Kona Grill did not offer that special nor could they honor it. Really frustrating to be deceived on what was being offered through Open Table. There was no way I would leave on Valentines Day and look for another restaurant else where. With that being said the pricing for their menu on this night was surprisingly higher than expected. Overall experience the food was okay, nothing spectacular. Stay away from the Ribeye Meatballs as your appetizer. It had an odd taste that was absolutely horrendous. The rest of the menu for appetizers and our entrees was average at best.

    I don't have time to include additional details... but here is the jest. Their management team has their work cut out for them. 4 women seemed to be tasked with figuring out seating... perhaps 3 of them should've been helping elsewhere because even with 4 of them huddled in the corner for the duration of our seating wait, there were more empty tables than there was available standing room in the entry. We waited 15 minutes for our table. We waited 40 minutes to order and then 60 more minutes to receive 1 out of 2 appetizers. Then our second appetizer came with 1 of our 4 entrees. We couldn't tell if our server was inexperienced or apathetic... incorrect orders that were mostly eventually corrected. She knew nothing about the menu or the food. Our final bill included the alcoholic beverages that were placed at the table adjacent to ours. All in all, it was a mad house. I would've rathered the app tell us there wouldn't be space/time for our party. I would not recommend dining here for dinner until management has worked out the operations.

    The food is pretty good, although the early and abbreviated “Valentine’s Day” menu was a bit weird. We came expecting what we always get and we told they weren’t making so things. The worst part was the wait to get seated. We showed up on time and the check in station seemed like the ladies had no idea what was going on. The lobby was packed with people all waiting for their reservations (we had one also) but no one was getting seated. Our res was at 6:30 but their were still,people there from 6:15 and then it started to stack up with the 6:45 reservations. Everyone was complaining and there is no place to hang out, and it doesn’t appear they have any good system when they get busy. We finally got tired of waiting and went at sat at the sushi bar where we waited because they didn’t have waitstaff assigned there. Why are you taking reservations if you can’t handle them? Or better yet, seat all,of,your reservation folks and start a waiting list for the walk-ins so the folks who took time to get a res don’t have to wait.

    After our last experience where we waited 30 mins for a table in spite of having a reservation, I decided to give Kona Grill another shot. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that they would cut out half of their menu saying that it was a special Valentine’s Day menu. Valentine’s Day is not for another four days!! Ridiculous! At least the food we did get to order tasted good. Plus service left a lot to be desired. Took ten minutes for us to even be greeted by a server and that was after I asked for someone to at least get us water. Very disappointed. Hopefully management fixes things up at some point. Used to be a great place.
