La Parma II
We had a 7 o’clock reservation and we were taken in promptly. First we were brought to the main dining room but quickly returned to the main entrance where we were about to be seated at the very first table right in front of the front door. Bear in mind this was one of the coldest days we have had. Obviously we said we did not want this and was seated at the other end of this room. We we could not have been in the main dining room is unknown to us as there were plenty of tables. Otherwise an enjoyable evening
We have been going to La Parma for over 20 years. The food is second to none. Try the fried calamari tossed in arrabiata sauce... you won’t be disappointed.
I went here during restaurant week and was very happy. I’m Italian, and I know good Italian food when I see it. You won’t find better anywhere on Long Island.
Tables way to close together need to move do ppl can get out. Tables are way to tight to out anything on. Place could use an update.
Saturday night my boyfriend & I went here for the first time as it was restaurant week. We were sat at a tight table right in a heavy traffic area, so my seat got kicked a lot. I had a reservation for 5:45 & we were there approximately 1 hour) our waiter, Chris took our order. He came with appetizers & I wasn't finished with my salad & I told him when he checked in, that I wanted to hang on to it so I could still work on it during our meal. He told me "well I already put your entree order in" & kind of made it seem like I needed to rush & get things moving. He brought our entrees out & the food was great, but he never checked in with us. Didn't ask how anything was or if we needed refills on drinks. He seemed to pay more attention to those who were ordering off the regular menu (which yes, means more $..but still. We're paying customers) The couple behind us were regulars & happened to have the same waiter & agreed at how rude he was. To top things off, it was time for dessert. I wanted to bring mine home & inform Chris prior, but he never checked in so I had to wait until he brought the plate with dessert out. When he put it in front of me I asked to take it home & he let out the biggest sigh, grabbed my utensils & stormed off. Had he stopped by AT LEAST ONCE to check in, I could have prepped him & not waste anyone's time decorating the plate nicely or wasting a plate when I didn't want to eat it then. He never thanked us, nothing. He made me feel like crap (sorry, language) but I will NEVER go back to this place ever again. Disgusting. He was clearly having a bad night & it showed. The couple behind us asked what's the deal with their food & when's it coming & he rudely said "it's restaurant week, what does it look like!?" Horrible.
Long standing family style Italian restaurant with quality food and wonderful different red sauces.
I have eaten in La Parma 11 before. The food, service and ambiance is always excellent.
We went during restaurant week and it was packed. Not sure if it’s always this busy but I could see why it should be. It was a great dinner. Mussels were delicious as well as the chicken scarpariello(White meat). Loved the crispy edges on the sausage! Was a little silly to have 1 waiter, 2 bus boys and a manager that wasn’t waiting tables. There was plenty of front of the house staff to provide a better experience but I understand it was quite busy.
Food was excellent
Service was professional courteous and responsive courteous
La Parma II is outstanding. The food is way above par and the service is unlike any other venue.
We were treated like queens and everything was generous and prompt and most importantly delicious.
I would recommend this restaurant to the Queen of England.
Celebrated my moms 84th birthday with our family it was a party of 12 ppl. Everything was outstanding food service and hospitality. They really make you feel comfortable so you can enjoy yourself.
Great food. Chopped salad, veal and eggplant
I would recommend but I would add some parameters
After eating here for years it is definitely not as good an experience as it once was
A second glass of wine was ordered when the main course was presented, it didn't arrive until after we were finished eating. Manager did the correct thing by taking it off the bill but still, it was like guzzling a glass of wine just to get out of the place. We were very basic the last time we went and were less than thrilled with our dishes.
Caeser Salad, watery dressing, not the freshest Romaine, how is that possible?
Penne in White clam sauce with broccoli. We asked to add broccoli to the dish, they charged for broccoli but they didn't add much. Pasta dish was under seasoned, could have used more garlic or more time in the saute pan.
We looked at the printed menu offered us.
The chicken parm said the half order fed 1 but a full order fed 2 to 4, How is that possible if a half order is one cutlet and full order is two cutlets. Maybe
I am being sensitive to not be happy with a place I used to love but it is what it is.
The food was superb, as usual, as was the service!
Our party of six had 5pm reservations on New Years Eve. We were seated on time. The service and food were excellent. Especially the mozzarella and tomato and linguine white clam sauce. We were never rushed. Terrific experience
We always look forward to going back to NY just so we can go the La Parma for dinner. Always the best!!
Great food and services, the atmosphere is rather plain, but that probably only makes the food that much better. A bit pricey.
Awesome! Food and atmosphere always amazing!
La Parma II is hands down our favorite restaurant! Whenever we go out to dinner, La Parma II is our first choice. We ALWAYS have phenomenal food and service. Two years ago we also hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner there. That meal was also fabulous and the staff were extremely accommodating to guests’ specific allergies and offered several alternatives to the meal we had selected. Is you want unbelievably delicious Italian food with top of the line service, La Parma II is the place to go!
Always a great experience at La Parma - friendly staff and delicious food
Awesome place awesome food!
We visited La Parma II during restaurant week. Our reservation was for 5:45 on a Saturday evening; most of our party was there by 5:30. We were a party of 12, with a last minute add-on. The set up La Parma chose was questionable. This restaurant is rather small, and comes highly referred, so I’m sure they experience high volume on a weekend evening. Our server did not give us the restaurant week menus until we had to ask for them. He did not seem to happy about this. We ordered our appetizers rather quickly, as to get the ball rolling on dinner. Our appetizers did not come out until one of our guests had to ask for them - they did not come out until 6:45. One of our guests apps had been forgotten, and came out several minutes later. Our main courses did not come out until 7:30, when many of us were looking around for our server. I believe we saw him a total of 3 or 4 times that night. He kept repeatedly telling us that it was very busy, and he was not sure if he would be able to complete certain requests for us. We felt this was unacceptable. Our table was directly next to the front door and the bar. Our party was either cold or being bumped into for the better part of the evening.
Another party was placed next to us, and seemed to have their appetizers writhing 10 minutes of them sitting down.
The saving grace of the evening was the manager (or whom I
thought was the manager). One of our members did not enjoy her shrimp dish, and felt sick upon eating it. This was brought to one of the server’s attention. The manager came over and very politely spoke to our member. He sent us home with a tray of penne alla vodka, and it was greatly appreciated.
Overall, the service was sub-par, the food was okay, and the atmosphere was poor.
I think we were here on an off night. The restaurant was packed and it has been around awhile. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. While the service was good, my stuffed mushrooms were small, the breadcrumbs were burnt, and the sauce was watery. My shrimp was overcooked, the mozzarella cheese on top was a little burnt, and it was just mediocre. I had the cannoli for dessert. The filling was average at best. My husbands salad was good, his eggplant parm was good, and his chocolate mousse cake was also good, but nothing to brag about, and but my meal was very disappointing.
Went for restaurant week and had mediocre food and terribly small portions. Dirty martini cost $16.25. Not even good. Will never go Back! Too many good restaurants on long island.
We have been coming here for 20 years. The food is always amazing. It is our favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island.
Ate in La Parma’s on. Saturday night which was a mistake. The service was subpar, quality of food not as good as it was a month ago when we ate there on a Sunday
My favorite place to eat. The manager Vinny is the greatest
He treats you like family and the staff is amazing. The food is always great and the place is always clean. I would like it 10 stars if I could. Love this place!!!!!!!
Great food. Great service. We really love dining here.
Great food. Just the right amount!!! Perfect for dinner on
Sunday night with friends!!!
Server was a little slow at first but things did eventually pick up. Food was delicious!!
It was not my idea to eat here but a suggestion by an out of town friend who was dining with us. I was very surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. This restaurant has been around forever but is obviously going down hill. The shrimp was awful. The chicken was thick and the sauce had no taste. The portions were skimpy. The waiter was a bit arrogant and impatient. He would not make anything special order and the restaurant was empty. Why would anyone eat here when there are so many great Italian restaurants in the area? I really don’t know. I’m sticking with Chris and Tony’s from now on!
Always wonderful food and friendly service. We drive 40 plus miles to go to dinner here. It’s our favorite restaurant
Waiter never came back to check on us, seemed annoyed that we were dining there. Never asked how food was at any course, first time here. Won't be back. Food was good but experience tainted by staff
authentic family style Italian restaurant. Quality of food was excellent, service was superb.
Always the best!! Great food great service never disappointed. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t love.
As always, food was very good. Only issue I had was that the table for 4 is very small and bakes family style service a little difficult
Awesome!! It was great!!
I missed this place since I moved away. The food is a great as I remembered and it’s still fun to eat family style. I am so glad I setup a special birthday celebration here.
