Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

Many of our ingredients are produced at Ludlow Farm Shop. Our meat is reared in the fields surrounding us on the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Park Estate and is prepared by the award winning butchers at Ludlow Farm ShopPlease note, we do add a 12.5% discretionary service charge onto the bill for groups of six or more.

    Excellent meal as always, we only have a starter each with a portion of chips to share, it was absolutely delicious. Staff are fabulous, helpful and friendly. Met up with a friend here and she was very impressed. Plenty of free parking. Great pub.

    Wow. What a place, friendly staff and a good range of beers / drinks. The menu was a tough choice as I could have eaten every dish on it. Settled for the scallops followed by the plaice in mussels sauce with French peas. Everything cooked to perfection and tasted superb. Finished with the peach panacotta which was also delicious. Can’t wait to go back again!

    For our 42nd wedding anniversary meal the experience was excellent. The ambiance as usual was calm, friendly and professional. The food, Fillet steak and Sea Bass was exceptional, prepared to perfection in a cosy and quiet environment. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, staff friendliness, environment and experience. Thanks to everyone. It was topped by a former colleague who happened to be on site, secretly paying half the bill!
