A modern oyster bar focusing on Southern cuisine, highlighting fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables to share. Saltine, named as a nod to the plain cracker often served with seafood, pays homage to Jackson's rich history with oysters and seafood. Oysters are sourced from the Gulf of Mexico, east and west coasts and Canada and served raw, smoked, wood-fired and fried. Saltine also offers an extensive beer list with over 30 taps of craft beer, as well as a wide selection of signature cocktails. Lunch and dinner are offered daily with a brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, happy hour specials daily from 4-6pm!

Mark and Mary Shapley began this dining tradition in 1985 and soon became one of the premier restaurants in the state. After taking a break to raise their two girls, they have returned with the same great food and service everyone came to know. Great steaks and seafood along with their famous tamales are still the main attraction along with an impressive bar and wine offerings. Please come by and see for yourself how special this restaurant is. We were recently voted 'Best Fine Dining' by the readers of Mississippi Magazine

    One of the BEST meals we have had-steak was tender and juicy. Sides, drinks and dessert were phenomenal. Great service too. Can’t wait to go back. Get the cinnamon roll bread pudding 🙌

    An impressive menu; the meal was excellent, well prepared and very tasteful. Great date night that won't break the bank, great value for what you get.

    Making reservations for my birthday in September was a quick and easy process. When I arrived I felt safe with good security. Omg! The vibe! When you walk in the cozy fell and the music put you in the mood for that cocktail and good conversation with friends. The food was amazing too. I ordered the catfish and grits. It was chef’s kiss. My friends and I were totally satisfied. Thanks Johnny T’s for your service ❤️
