Kosmikon Restaurant has been in the same family since 1966, on the pedestrian stretch of Adrianou in Plaka, a few minutes below the Acropolis. Antonis and Evgenia opened it in a listed building from 1935, and the second generation runs it today.The cooking is modern Greek. A few classics are kept as they were, among them the moussaka, still made to Evgenia's recipe. Others are rebuilt: a Greek salad with feta mousse and carob rusk, octopus caramelised in aged balsamic on fava cream, saganaki croquettes with poached figs, seabass fillet with basil oil and lemon.Most tables are outside on the street, with a dining room indoors for cooler evenings. The kitchen runs from 9:00 to 23:30 with no afternoon break, so a late lunch coming down from the Acropolis is never a problem. Breakfast is served until 11:30. Our season runs from March to November.

Grande Dame opened its doors on the ground floor of a historic neoclassical building on Nikis Street, which was once an inn and later housed the Old Athens tavern. Its interior was gutted, renovated and acquired a different style. The old tile under your feet is more than a century old. The tables are spread across three rooms, with various lamps - some vintage, some more modern – paintings of ladies, and vases of fresh flowers. The fact that the space transitions between old and new, blending elements of both, reflects the style and character of the food.Welcome to Grande Dame Athenian Tavern. Mrs. Maria and their two sons along with the executive chef create authentic recipes from all over Greece, like grape leaves, the famous lamb "kleftiko", cheese pie with honey & Greek kebab “Sheftalia”. There are also some unique dishes which you can hardly find elsewhere, such as ravioli stuffed with beef & spices with red pepper & yoghurt-mint sauce, slow-cooked goat with pappardelle pasta, Cretan macaroni "skioufichta" and the caramelized octopus

Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

    Totalmente recomendado, desde la excelente atención de personal, la vista a la acrópolis o a Zeus Olímpico y una gran sazón en la cena. Si estás por Atenas y quieres pasar un buen momento en pareja, es ideal.

    Fui sola para celebrar mi cumpleaños, hicieron de mi noche un momento muy especial, la atención, la comida; son increíbles. Vale mucho la pena pedir el consejo del somelier para la elección de vinos. Todavía hoy estoy diafrutando casa plato.
