The Three Cranes is a beautiful Grade II listed building with classic features in the centre of the charming village of Turvey.Nestled in the rolling countryside between Bedford, Milton Keynes and Northampton, Turvey is a beautiful, historical village on the river Ouse at the centre of a network of country paths. It has many historical stone buildings and is centred around the ancient manor, Turvey House. We serve food freshly prepared from high quality ingredients with a focus on local sourcing. We always provide at least three vegan options and source fresh fish on a daily basis, based on the catches of the day and use these to create daily fish specials. We are a free house and always serve a selection of real ales.

    Food was amazing, the staff went above and beyond and were friendly and kind. I asked for extra chutney which they supplied free of charge as well as complimentary poppadoms. Server was polite without being intrusive and was a credit to the restaurant. The head chef took the time to talk to us when we finished our meal and get our opinions on what worked and told us his process and the specials! Also gave us complimentary chilli cauliflower bites mid way through our meal, for context myself and my partner do not like cauliflower so we’re not expecting to enjoy them however they were actually quite nice which goes to show the quality of food and cooking that even unfavourable options we actually quite enjoyed! Would definitely go again!

    We have eaten several times now at Mala Dragon, and it gets better and better as we become ever more familiar with the menu concept. Remarkable and really well chosen variety of spicy, tasty, beautifully cooked and presented dishes within an intimate, wine-focused Sichuan tapas bar rather than a traditional Chinese restaurant. Distinctive, signature food, attentive friendly staff and a friendly, welcoming ambience in every respect. Tingles the taste buds without searing them, and the wines / beers selected to perfectly complement the experience. The Mala is a gem.
