    I have eaten there for years. Because my friend canceled on me, I ate alone. I thought that it would be a subpar experience. But the food and the service was so outstanding that I actually enjoyed it. I seldom meet alone, but I loved it anyway.

    TwinFlame Oakland, similar to Tokyo's famous Hikiniku To Come. The menu is intentionally simple - they only have one main dish which is the wagyu hamburg steak. I don't want to compare TwinFlame from the origina Hikiniku from Tokyo because they each have their own take and charm but still worth the try. We loved the hamburg steak, it was juicy. For some it may be underwhelming but for our family of 3 - it was just right and perfect for our liking. The sauces were just fine. The stuff that we loved were: Ponzu sauce, poached egg, Yuzu Highball, unlimited rice, the Gim-mari and Gamja jeon (esp the truffle aioli) and of course the perfect ending - the matcha ice cream. Special mention to our server, Liam. The service was excellent!

    The renovated space is very attractive, the food was delicious (a range of appetizers and a mushroom pizza), cocktails and wine were spot on. Service was attentive but not excessively so. Lovely meal.

    One of the best meals out my partner and I have had in a while. Excellent fermented tea salad, mixed by the waiter at the table, rice noodle dish, chicken curry, all superbly seasoned. And quantities enough for leftovers the next day. Energetic upbeat staff. We will be back.
