The Winery Restaurant has been an icon among western Colorado restaurants for over 35 years. The restaurant makes its home in a 95 year old building that used to house a horse drawn fire station. A gas lamp lit, grapevine canopied alley frames this romantic location perfectly. The beautifully remodeled building contains flowered stain glass windows, barn wood and bricks.Steve Thoms acquired the restaurant in late June of 2004 after taking a couple of years off from his previous restaurant. His mission at he Winery is simple: Show the restaurant and its patrons the attention that they deserve. Use only top quality ingredients, and establish The Winery as the premiere restaurant in the Grand Junction area.The Winery provides a variety of steaks, chicken, pork and fresh seafood specials nightly in an atmosphere that can not be rivaled anywhere!

    We are from out of town, and I was just looking for a place to eat for dinner. Spoons came up on Google Maps as a restaurant choice and it looked lovely. I was able to make a reservation, yet we went over early, and we were able to get seated. It was a gorgeous autumn day and we sat outside on their patio near the fountain. It was just lovely. But to add to our experience was the friendly and helpful wait staff and the really good food! My husband wanted a beer, and they don’t serve it, but they do serve beer battered french fries! They’re possibly the best french fries I’ve ever had - in my entire life! I kid you not! So good! I wish I lived closer and could come back again.

    We sat outside and the ambience was wonderful at dusk. The service was excellent, quite cheerful, and prompt. The ambience was the biggest part of the Value. The food was very good but one person complained that the ahi tacos were bland, not extraordinary; she was a bit disappointed. The people who ordered pasta and gnocchi felt the servings were a bit small; that affects my value rating. But Everyone loved the shishito peppers!
