Beautiful spot especially during the holidays! Good food and very pleasant service.
Main complaint is that the restaurant is very noisy. Hard to have a good conversation with out raising your voice.
The food was amazing! Great service! Definitely will go back.
My bride and I celebrated our 46th anniversary with the Lightfoot team and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Dominick was very attentive, helpful and gracious. The Hama Hama fried oysters are to fight over as were the crab cakes and pork shank. Oh, and who gets excited over salads? Their berry salad will change your mind!
This is the fourth year we have celebrated our anniversary with Lightfoot. We will continue with this fine purveyor of food and drink fit for royalty. We rate Lightfoot at 5 stars.
Very slow service, food took a long time
Did not feel welcome
For amount of food felt we should have been offered bread or salad.
Had to ask for refil!
Was not impressed with the service. Had reservations for 645pm. Arrived about 5 min.s prior and was told a table would not be ready for about 15 min. Felt like we were an inconvenience rather than an appreciated guest. Told the hostess we'd wait at bar. About 25 minutes later, she told us the table was ready. Over all not a bad experience but have been treated better at other high end restaurants and wanted that experience as it was an anniversary diner.
Everything was delicious and wait staff was terrific. Only thing we found was it was chilly in the restaurant. We sat with our coats wrapped around us. We will be back.
I brought 3 friends who had not been to Lightfoot - they absolutely raved about it. We had the best waiter, Dominic, who made the whole experience just very special. He was attentive without being overbearing; he was polite and just so cheerful. The young woman at the front reservation desk was also extremely nice. It proved to be a very memorable experience for all, especially our birthday celebrant!
It was perfect. The decor put us in a holiday mood and the drinks and food just kept us there!
We had an amazing time! My first time there and I Loved it. Fred was our server and he was outstanding, very patient and knowledgeable. My husband asked for my parent's blessing there, and now my future brother in law asked my parents there too! It will definitely be a family restaurant for us! Thanks Fred for making our night delightful!
I rarely take the time to write reviews and I am hesitant to write this as I want to continue to keep Lightfoot as I know it and not overwhelmed by crowds. Amazing service and the meals were outstanding. Best crab cake in Loudoun County. Only negative was we were seated below an air vent which made our party uncomfortably cold. Other wise would have rated ambiance 5 starts as well.
We had a great experience at the lunch for my Granddaughters Birthday. This is the second time we have had Domingue B. #88 as our server and he is exceptional. He is a fantastic server, anticipates our needs and even remembered us from our last visit. We really appreciate his excellent service.
Wonderful dinner and night
The food was delicious and the aesthetic appearance of the interior of the restaurant was fabulous. The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, great memory, and always courteous. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Love the Everyone's Favorite Salad. Having a fireside table was a real treat!
We had our wedding reception there 16 years ago and go back every year to celebrate and many time in between.
Always a plus plus experience!
The food was outstanding, service attentive but not intrusive, atmosphere was terrific and a good time was had by all!
Our experience at Lightfoot is always thoroughly enjoyable. The food is discernibly fresh, superbly prepared and always delicious. The chef's pairings are innovative and delightful.
We went to dinner on a Saturday night with a party of 4, 3 of the 4 were celebrating their birthdays. The restaurant was very crowded but we had reservations and were seated right away. Drinks came within a reasonable amount of time but from there things went down hill. I'm not sure what happened but we began to see parties that were seated after us being served appetizers, and then their main course, and we had nothing.....and no acknowledgement from our waiter, who was waiting on, and delivering food to tables near us, one was right next to us! Because we were hungry we finished the bread plate, and the waiter never asked if we would like more since our dinner was taking so long. I finally had to get up and chase him down to ask what had happened to our dinner. We were never given an explanation, I also flagged down I'm guessing what was a manger, he also had no explanation other then smiling at me with a blank look and mumbling something about the kitchen. Obviously there was nothing wrong in the kitchen because all the tables around us were getting their food in a timely manner. My guess is either the waiter didn't put the order in, or the kitchen somehow lost the order. All of us agreed once we finally got our food it was very good but after waiting over an hour and half it lost it's effect. No accommodation was offered other than the chef was going to do a "really special dessert" for us on the house, considering 3 of us had birthdays (which they knew & had mentioned) and we had seen other tables get desserts with birthday candles, which I'm sure were given complimentary, I don't consider that a reasonable compensation. At that point it was after 9:00, we were seated at 7, I was ready to leave, and never go back.
I would rate a 4.5 stars. The food is very good, but some might find the portions small. I would recommend and will come back.
Wish specials were printed or waiter mentioned them before you spent time looking at menu, also give price of special when you describe it.
Food was excellent
We enjoy lunch here every so often and always return. Crab bisque and fried green tomatoes appetizers were delicious. Crab cake entree came with garlicky string beans and was full of lump crab. Seasonal dessert of pumpkin brownie was perfection.
Lightfoot Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Northern VA, their food and ambiance is great! Worth going!
The haddock was delicious! Was our first time there and really enjoyed it!
great food-wait staff was wonderful- paid attention, but not intrsuive
Always enjoy coming here for lunch. Food quality is consistently high. Service is strong, mostly. Two of us had the Ahi Tuna Salad and it was awesome--simple and great.
My only suggestion--turn down the music just a bit for the lunch crowd.
I love this place. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is perfect for a special afternoon in Leesburg.
We have been going to Lightfoots since they opened around the corner from where they are now.
The food has always been very good and we enjoy introducing new people to this restaurant. We brought another couple with us who had not dined here before. The food was excellent and several new items on the menu were a special surprise.
The one problem we encountered was a large party upstairs,I believe a wedding. A few drunk people walked
in and out passed our table one even fell on the floor. The next problem was the ladies room which was trashed.
Paper, water and other unappealing things covered the floor and sink tops. I had never seen this bathroom in this bad shape. I approached the man at the podium to inform him of the problem. His reply "yes I know ,too many drunk people upstairs" and then "thank you" and he walked away. Nothing was done to improve the situation. With this many people they needed a bathroom attendant checking every half hour to hour, even
McDonald's does that. I was embarrassed when our guest needed to use the ladies room.
Great experience! Didn’t do anything special for my birthday though which was a bit disappointing.
The main issues we had were related to the first Mimosas that came out were clearly premade and had to be stirred so as to fix the separation of components, the sticky buns that came out were overdone and the Eggs Benedict that my date ordered was just “okay”. In addition - it was a brunch and we were seated next to a loud group as opposed to any number of tables that were free and infinitely more private (asked and they were “reserved” though we had a reservation and no one occupied them while we were there). Service was good but not great. Have been to Lightfoot many times and have had many great experiences so this one time will not sour my overall opinion but was slightly disappointed on this occasion.
Seated on time with reservations. Great wine list. It was really cold at our table. Wait staff was prompt. Drinks came quickly. It took close to an hour to get bread. Food was delicious.
Wonderful food and waiter, but the restaurant was SO cold, we were extremely uncomfortable even with long sleeves and sweaters.
We had a nice lunch and great service but I have to say how sad that Lightfoot didn’t recognize my friends 80th birthday with a small dessert and candle. I remarked when I made the reservation and the waiter saw the Godiva I brought for her and yet nothing...disappointed.
Dinner special Streak and Cake did not have a lot of flavor and my steak was under-cooked.
The best meal of my life. My compliments to the chef.
This restaurant was great. It was our first time here and we were very impressed with the ambiance and food. We will definitely return.
Great restaurant. Always a winner. We had a fun time. Our server was great.
Lightfoot is a Leesburg treasure. Great food and service and a unique atmosphere that doesn't have a comparison. We have been there many times and never been disappointed. We have family members that come to town occasionally and want to head to Lightfoot when they are here.
We had a fabulous meal celebrating some friends birthdays. The scallop/ sweet potato pancake appetizer was wonderful. Ham biscuits are always solid and all of our desserts came with cotton candy!
