Not our first time at Mamma Tonino’s, and it definitely will not be our last! The food was so delicious. The owner/host was so welcoming! It was like dining in a small charming restaurant in Italy. Our table started with sharing some appetizers. We shared the Calamari Fritti and the Arancini risotto balls. Both delicious! Before our entrees two of us shared a wonderful Caesar Salad and my sister had the Pear and Gorgonzola salad. She loved it! Finally we enjoyed the delicious entrees. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara (best I’ve ever had). My girlfriend had the Veal Scallopini and my sister had the Spaghetti Pescatore. I was able to have a small taste of each and they were also very delicious. Needless to say we were so full, we were not able to order dessert! But the Tiramisu sure was tempting! We will be back for that!!!

I disagree with the reviews. First, we weren’t greeted warm. The lady who greeted us made us feel like an imposition. It took almost an hour and a half to get our appetizers. It was a miserable dinner waitiig to eat. We did family style and ordered 3 salads, 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. We were so hungry after sitting there for 2 hours that we honestly didnt have enough food. They told us they were short staffed. The 2 owners were there and neither one came to our tabie to apologize. They couid have offered a bottle of wine, comp one of our entrees or dessert. Any gesture even if the owner just came over would have been nice. I rarely leave bad reviews but this is one of rhe worse expeoemces i have encountered in years. I do not want others to have the sane experience. The food was good. The bolognese needed more sauce. The eggplant Parmesan was amazing. The bread was sub par, served w olive oil which was boring.

We were unsurprised at how good the food was, because we had heard it was STELLAR, and it did not disappoint. The service was spot on. The hostess (owner) was quite personable. The only reason it was a bit noisy was because there was a loud party next to us, but we just participated in their conversations and all was well. The only drawback is the chair's were not great. They were not terrible, nor even uncomfortable. Just could be a little more so. And seriously, that's the ONLY negative I have and it's TEENY TINY.

Maybe the best meal we had in Sonoma. Do not be put off by the strip mall location or modest decor. The food was classic Italian with every morsel seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service felt personal and you could sense the chef's Tuscan roots in every dish. This is a hidden gem, well worth the walk off the beaten path of Sonoma Plaza.

This was not just a fantastic meal,Ribeye(MR) with mushroom sauce and Dover Sole , but the service and engagement from the host ,Kim was second to none . But let me not take anything away from Gaetano , master chef. Thanks for a great meal and experience

Our dining experience as far as the food was delicious, but the ambience could use a little help, in our opinion. There are signs that the strip mall’s sidewalk was converted into seating, probably since the Covid dilemma, and the dining tables were rather close together, giving no privacy to any conversations.

Absolutely amazing authentic Italian cuisine. Restaurant is run by an Italian family, sweet service, dining with time and amazing quality.
