I had reserved two-top for dinner on a Friday night before a show. My friend arrived ahead of me and they would not seat her — when I arrived on time, our table still wasn’t ready and we ended up waiting quite a bit. No one from the staff seemed particularly friendly or welcoming, from the receptionist to the man who showed us to our table. We were taken to a corner table in the back of the restaurant where the air-conditioning was blasting in November. The food was ok, a bit underwhelming. Despite the attractive space, it just wasn’t a great experience. Next time I’ll reserve a table at one of the restaurants that’s a bit closer to the theater at Princeton aside from having a lot of onsite parking, there wasn’t much of an advantage to dining here before a show.

We enjoyed our dining experience at Metro North. The greeters are very friendly as well as the wait staff. Everyone is welcoming and it feels very comfortable. We enjoyed Expresso Martini’s with an appetizer of clams casino. We love their warm bread and olive oil that is brought to the table upon arrival. Our entrees were delicious Butternut Squash ravioli and my husband had paella. We shared a butter pecan cheese cake with cappuccinos. It was all enjoyable.

We go to Metro North often before seeing shows at McCarter theatre due to its proximity and prompt service allowing us to make it to the shows on time. Yesterday was the first time we went there for lunch. I really liked the lunch additions, particularly the asian chicken salad. Through all our visits food is consistently good, although they did remove the crabmeat from my favorite fish entree which was disappointing. We will continue to go for pre-theatre dinners but now have added it to our lunch rotation as well.
