Elegante and cozy place with excellent service. The baked bread is fantastic. I also like that there is a live peacock walking in the parking lot.
Very friendly staff, good service, good food! Will certainly go there again.
I was in NY to visit friends on Long Island and one suggested this classic restaurant for our reunion. I reminded me of the special place my parents would go for an anniversary or birthday. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night when we arrived at 7:30. The waiter told us about the evening specials but no prices mentioned and there was not a special board. Beware, the surf and turf special was very overpriced....
The food was good but not great and not a great value. The waiter never offered to refill our drinks or check on us after serving. There was also a lot of confusion over the check payment when two had cash and one wanted 1/3 of them bill on the card....the entire bill was placed on the card which we caught and asked for the cash back. The suggested tip amount printed on the check was based on the total check (including tax) so we ended up over tipping the waiter and not happy with the service.
I was very disappointed with the entire experience and wish that I had visited during the restaurants glory days. It is a beautiful place with classic atmosphere so I hope that management can get back on track.
Asked waitress if duck was dark meat or white meat. I only like white meat. She told me it was white meat. Instead it was all dark meat and very chewy. Had I known that I would have ordered my original number 1 choice, a burger. If she didn’t know, she should have asked and told us as the customer. Just really bad customer service. The best part was the cinnamon bread when we sat down. I can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon.
Had a great sauerbraten dinner. Octoberfest was over but sauerbraten is offered on the pricefix dinner all year. More than enough to eat and very good.
It was our Anniversary. Service was great. Had a really good waitress. Food was excellent.
Took a stroll through the Halloween Village.
I ordered the grilled salmon piece was so small that you needed a magnify glass to find it. My family members thought I ordered the diet special.
Awful. This once solid place was just awful. Food the worst of the worst. Waiter totally lost and disinterested. Stale bread. Very stale. One table next to us got served their dinner twice! It came out after their dessert and was sent back. Meanwhile we never got our food. Waiter just told us this is what happens when 200 people are there. What a shame.
We had a very nice time. The service was cordial and friendly they have managed to make a colonial inn accessible with ou destroying the charm that only comes from its long existence. We have been coming here for many years, and have fond memories of our experiences. It can be a little drafty, but it is an antique building.
Very disappointed. Was there 2 weeks ago had wonderful experience. This time we came back for Octoberfest Menu which was supposed to be all month to find out they were out of e everything on that menu so we ordered from main menu. Unfortunately my food was not fully cooked. Sent it back and they took it off my bill. Will try again at another time but different dish.
We've gone for brunch with the extended family many times in the pas 25 years. It is getting progressively worse in terms of quality of food for the price. I believe going forward we will only go to visit the shops.
I love the Milleridge Inn. The food and service is excellent and it’s a festive and fun place to go to.
Lovely atmosphere yummy food!!
I recommend it for Prime Rib and Popovers.
The food is not as good as it should be, but they have a sweet spot which is their salads, meat, and breads.
Food was good but service was not so good. Waiter never greeted us just stood there waiting to take our order. Took a while to get drinks, especially milk for tea which came so late my friend didn’t drink it because it was cold. Never asked if we needed anything else. Shame because food was good and atmosphere could be awesome but it was sort of dreary.
It's obvious that atmosphere is being sacrificed for the sake of commercialism. I don't like the carnival atmosphere and difficult parking when I want to enjoy a Sunday out with friends. Also, food quality has declined. Pork schnitzel was dry, and more breading than meat. Potato pancake was not home made, and red cabbage was practically non existent. Popovers saved the meal.
The decor is outstanding! Beautiful setting and lovely atmosphere. As a vegetarian I was concerned that I would not have any options so I called ahead and inquired about special meals. I was told that they could “most definitely” accommodate however once at the restaurant I was told there was only a pasta dish that they could make for me. No accommodations were offered for appetizers which was disappointing.
Food was sub par. Omlet totally burned and not edible. Decorations and ambiance is the only reason to come here
We usually have a great dinner here. The food was excellent and prices are awesome for the prefixed menu. But the wait time between the appetizer and entree was way to long, our waiter after we were waiting 20 minutes was flagged down by us and said they had some large groups and the kitchen was back up. The food came 10 minutes later.
It’s still quaint and reasonably priced, but the food was mediocre at best.
The food and ambiance are the perfect match. We try to celebrate family birthdays because they fall in different seasons. The milleridge decorations are just amazing. The food is delicious with a variety of choices. It’s so difficult to make a choice...my last visit the prime rib never disappoints. Take a walk through the shops the bakery is a must stop.
Michael our waiter was great. October fest menu was wonderful. Highly recommended.
The girls at check in need to smile more and stop playing with their hair. It is a food establishment
The kitchen lost our food order ticket! Our food came to our table almost 2 hours after we sat down. Totally unacceptable!
We went for the Octoberfest menu. It was delicious. There was two musician play german music. Had a great time.
I've been to Milleridge Inn many times and it's always been an excellent dining experience. This is the first time we went to Oktoberfest at Milleridge. The price fixe menu of limited German foods could have been a lot better. Sauerbraten a bit overcooked and goulash very dry.
Ambiance with the small German band and other folks having fun more than made up for it as anOktoberfest dinner should be.
Next year We'll order off the regular menu. I do recommend this restaurant very highly.
Overall, my partner and I had a lovely meal. Our server was extremely attentive without being intrusive. My partner's salad and fruit cup, as well as my salad and French onion soup au gratin were wonderful. The salads were visually appealing as well as extremely fresh and crisp. His fruit salad was amazing, as was my onion soup, which had a noticeable amount of sherry and was absolutely delicious!
We both ordered the sauerbraten, which was a bit of a disappointment. Now, granted, I make sauerbraten myself, based upon my grandmother's recipe from Germany. The meat was nicely brined and had a good sour bite to it, but the gravy, billed as ginger snap gravy, was very skimpy, and lacked even a hint of ginger snap sweetness, rendering the dish overly sour and lacking. The red cabbage was, well, there. Just there. No flavor; neither sweet nor sour, just bland. The potato dumplings also lacked flavor, having no fried croutons nor bacon bits in them. Might as well have just been round balls of dry, mashed potatoes.
The bus staff spoke no English and started clearing away our food before we were finished with it. I tried to stop her, but she didn't understand. Thankfully, our waitress, who was amazing, corrected the situation and replaced what had been taken prematurely.
We requested our dessert to go. My partner had cheesecake with whipped creme, while I ordered mine with the raspberry sauce. We took it to our hotel and ate it later in the evening after we'd had a chance for our dinners to settle. Though my partner felt the cheesecake was too rich, I found it to be absolutely delicious and a perfect way to top off the evening.
All-in-all, it was a good experience, a nice trip down memory lane for me, but a bit disappointing for my partner, who is not from the area and had never eaten at Milleridge Inn before.
We went to the Milleridge In for our 48th Wedding Anniversary. We have gone there in the past on many Anniversaries. It is a tradition. It was a very rainy night and mid week so only a few other people were there. A very slow night due to weather and mid week. It was decorated absolutely lovely as always. We ate from the October Fest menu. We loved the popovers (One of the main reasons we always come back). My husband had the goulash and I had order envy. It was delish. I had the pork schnitzel. It was ok but wish I ordered that goulash. The potato pancakes were great and oh my gosh sure loved the apple strudel as usual. My husband had the Bavarian cream pie which was heavenly. But the thing that impressed us the most was your wonderful staff. I can not remember the name of our waiter but he was wonderful. It was Wednesday night, October 2nd that he worked there. I do remember Betty. She brought us water and popovers. What a lovely person. They made us feel like royalty. They totally made our Anniversary special. See you all again around the Holidays as my dinner of the month club have been going to the Milleridge for over 28 years for our holiday gathering. Like I said it is a tradition.
Although the Milleridge Inn is a nice place to meet with a group of friends. There is something lacking in the quality of the food. The cinnamon bread for the table was stale. We asked for another loaf and that was stale too. Our group has been here before so we know what it's supposed to taste like. The burgers and crab cakes were good as were the lobster tacos. The toasted bread on the turkey club was rather soggy, and the french fries limp and underdone. Waldorf salad did not seem fresh. Our group has been to the MI several times and we do like it but wish that the food was of a higher caliber.
We were very happy with our whole experience for the Octoberfest! Especially our waiter, he couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive!
Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was well prepared.
We were unable to visit the shops after the meal as they are closed on Monday. you should post that on your web site.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration during Octoberfest!
Great service and food and music!
I frequented the Milleridge Inn many times when I was younger and wanted to go back for dinner to relive some nice memories. Unfortunately, I should of kept my good memories and not have gone back. While the place was beautifully decorated for the fall, everything else fell short. Our server was terrible. Actually handed me the plate of one of the people in my party and had me hand it to her. We were only 3 people, he should of walked over to her and put the plate down in front of her. We had to ask to have our water glasses refilled. One of the people in my party ordered a Moscow Mule and was brought a completely different drink. While the portions were large, the food was very bland and the dessert was terrible. It was a warm, humid night and they had the door open and my friends and I were getting bitten by gnats - one landed on my salad dressing. The restaurant was not crowded, so I can't even blame the poor service on that. I was very disappointed on how the Milleridge Inn has changed. I know they were bought by new management, but if they don't get their act together, I doubt they will be in business much longer.
The waiter was very good . came to check on us all the time
made sure we liked everything
Food and service was great
Went to the Sunday brunch. Food was good and a wide variety was offered. Lobster, prime rib, eggs, etc. The only problem was they did not record my OpenTable even though I advised the check in desk and questioned it when she seemed to shrug it off. They have shops there and a petting zoo for the kids. I would return.
It was very hot in our room. Asked for air to be turned cooler.
Kristin was our waitress she was fabulous. Staff was great.
It was uncomfortably warm in the dining area. The staff visited our table very infrequently, we were not given bread (which I’ve heard is delicious) until after our entrees had arrived. I ordered the filet which was over cooked, but I was worried how long it would take to get back so did not complain. The chicken Milanese had a mountain of lettuce on top of it, not a bed as described. The band playing was so loud we were unable to hear each other despite being the only two at the table. Also another table close by was having a small food fight at their table.
We love the festive atmosphere. It was great place to celebrate Oktoberfest. The food was delicious! We had a wonderful time.
Went for Oktoberfest during the week to beat the crowds. Food was much better than the so called German Restaurants in the area. Sauerbraten was delicious and the meal came with a glass of wine or beer, appetizer, meal and desert. It was so good that I booked another 2 dinners there. We went during the week to beat the crowds. No marching bands during the week but thats ok. I'll pass on that. Food and Service was good.
We had our book club dinner at the Milleridge Inn. They accommodated 10 of us at a round table which was perfect. Dinner and service was great. I would highly recommend the Milleridge Inn.
