Mon Ami Gabi - Reston
Everything was great except for our waitress. She started out very friendly but then completely changed and seemed annoyed with everything we asked for.
Came in on a Sunday for brunch with my sister. It was busy that day but it didn't cause issues with their deliverance when it came to customer service. The only downfall was the food: overcooked fried potatoes and hash browns that were a bit on the salty side, even the scrambled eggs. I'm not sure if salt was added after preparing the food. However, I could taste butter so I'm going to assume that they heavily use salted butter. We got fresh eggs from the manager and they were better around the edges, but you can still taste the salt in the middle. Thankful with the mimosa we were able to wash it down and just deal with it.
Great date night! The mussels and pomme frites and the goat cheese appetizer were awesome
Enjoyed the food, consistent as always.
Crying baby next to us was a distraction.
Family values are a small price to pay.
I had the salmon and it was excellent. The restaurant was crowded so the noise level was abit high. Food and drink were simply superb.
Went for a late Valentine’s Day dinner. The place was loud so we had a hard time having conversation. It was also pretty cramped. The waiter didn’t tell us any of the specials, so we overspent. The food was good, but a limited menu. It was expensive too, which I’m not sure why considering the entire experience. Definitely have no plans to return.
We had brunch on a Sunday, food was really good and service too, our area did not have a waiter so we shared which made it a long wait but he was trying his best and you could see he cared. Our bass girl was AMAZING though. The omelette's were delicious and the french toast too. Coffee is very tasteful with they would have larger cups though.
Very nice steak, frites, excellent food! We enjoyed ourselves - it was our first time at that location!
Our meal and drinks were lovely. There were 2 extras glasses of wine charged to our bill though. Enjoy yourselves, but examine your bill. Recommend!
Javier was our server and was fantastic at anticipating our needs without rushing us.
We’ve been there many times. Usually they are 5 stars. They really underperformed in service and in food quality. Maybe because it was Valentines Day.
Mon Ami Gabi is a great french restaurant with a fantastic selection of dishes. They host a gluten free menu that myself and my date both ordered off of. The environment is chic and very clean. Will be going there again soon.
Valentine’s Day was a wonderful meal with great specials and food. The specials were fantastic and the service was very helpful and kind as he explained all the offerings and helped with recommendations for drinks to pair with it. The manager was also interested in ensuring everything was going well by checking in and ensuring our needs were met. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable evening with great food and drinks.
Mon Ami is so consistent - service & food always excellent. My go to place for special occasions or business lunches and they never disappoint. Fantastic (reasonably priced) wine list and staff has good knowledge to make recommendations. Can’t wait to come back again and again.
PS the salmon special in a pastry puff - I have never eaten anything like it soo good.
Me and hubby visited the Reston location on Valentines. This was our first time and was excited about trying something new. The service was wonderful. No complaints whatsoever. The food and environment however was terrible. The seating was sooo tight. It was hard to have a personal conversation. The food was bland. I was expecting more. I had fish. My husband had steak. We were both very unimpressed.
Valentine’s Day dinner
Great service and amazing food :)
Great. Small tight tables. Food fantastic. Service super.
We are frequent customers of MAG but Valentines Day was definitely subpar. They were not ready for a full dining room at 4:30pm and they were disorganized and disgruntled. We had a reservation, were seated promptly and summarily forgotten. No one even looked our way for 20 minutes until we asked if there was a waiter for our table. There apparently wasn't and another nearby waiter said he would take care of us. His service was outstanding but when the runner brought our food and he asked if there was anything else he could do for us, i asked for my wine. He mentioned it to the waiter for the next tables, and he told the runner and anyone else within earshot, "Not my table, not my problem!" The restaurant was obviously overwhelmed by the early holiday crowd, but if you can't handle the numbers, don't take the reservations. Our first disappointing experience at this location, but an early crowd should not be an excuse. (They had sent a $20 coupon in an email earlier in the week; I offered it up but they couldn't get it to work. In the end, I insisted--was a MAG coupon after all--and in the end, they accepted it.)
I treated my husband to a late Valentine's Day lunch. He has hearing challenges, so we were able to select a table in a corner that tamped down most of the music and nearby conversations. The waiter was knowledgeable of the wines, the specials and was attentive to our needs at the table. The food - awesome. The pre-fixe menu - fabulous options. Dessert: raspberry sorbet - tart and tasty. Loved the experience and we will return.
Excellent food and service in a comfortable, stylish restaurant. The prix fixe lunches are satisfying.
I enjoyed a pleasant lunch with my son and was quickly seated even with it being Valentine’s Day at the peak of the lunch hour. The food was delicious and the wait staff very attentive.
Mon Ami Gabi had a special main course that had been described to me in an email from the restaurant: coulibiac, salmon and other accompaniments baked in pastry. It was a draw, but was not offered or even mentioned by our server until I asked about it. Two of my companions and I ordered it and liked it very much, but it was accompanied by the dullest salad imaginable. Aside from this our server, although perfectly polite, was inattentive, and had to be reminded of things we had asked for; once he had given an order to the bar he didn't seem to think it his responsibility to see that it arrived.
First time here. Can’t wait to go back. Prix fixe for lunch was perfect.
Draft from the windows made it unpleasant although we selected the table.
Great food, great service. We were there on a Saturday night and it was rather noisy for the first part of the evening but then it became more tolerable.
The food was delicious! We had brunch, a perfect eggs Benedict and a croque madame. Great experience, and very reasonable price. Will definitely visit again!
Lunch was delicious. Service was very good. Atmosphere was awesome!
Nice birthday meal!
We always love the food at Mon Ami Gabi, and the service is usually very good as well! However, our waitress was a bit rude when explaining a gift card promotion that was occurring during the Super Bowl Sunday brunch (we didn’t understand how the promotion worked at first). Otherwise, had another delicious brunch at Mon Ami Gabi!
Surprisingly the menu is limited and not too interesting for vegetarians
Service was ok - attentive, but slow, and food arrived with dressing rather than “on the side”. However quickly replaced
Very loud with background music. Difficult conversation
Prices higher than expected - not outrageous. Entrees $30s +
Good time, dinner out with my husband.
Hadn't been here in a couple of years. Quality of food and service appear to have declined since then.
Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints. The bread, the soups, the apps, the entreés... all are wonderful. The service is impeccable too.
Went there for my birthday early dinner at 3pm. Initially we had it for five but they were able to take us earlier which was great! I’ve been to the Vegas location before so was happy to see this location was just as good. The food was delish!
Delicious brunch with family! Larger than expected portions. Omelets were fluffy and quiches were perfect. Love the dressing on the mixed greens salad! Warm baguettes served with whipped butter and raspberry is always a nice treat.
Service very good, brunch was excellent. All 4 of us were delighted with both. Ambiance very good but noise level a bit loud.
Great experience with our server, Katie and manager, Laura. We also appreciate the great service provided by the gentleman who brought us bread and water. The food was very good. Dessert was a special toffee cake. The best dessert we have had. Thanks!
