We booked online only an hour before arrival. The place was humming with pre-theatre diners, so we were offered a seat at the bar to wait. That was a good move, as we elected to stay there for the meal, and so able to talk the team once the theatre crowd left to their appointment with Don McLean at Anita's Theatre over the road. We had oyster mushroom fritters and duck meatballs for starters, red duck curry and pepper beef for main, washed down with Central Otago pinot noir. A marvellous combination, served by an attentive and engaging floor team. It was our second visit here, and the experience was a repeat 5 stars. Thanks Duck in Heaven, see you again.

Had grilled chicken breast with mushroom sauce large serving quite enjoyable, fillet steak was ordinary and a bit pricey. Overall happy with the meals and service. Bistro was well equipped staff helpful and friendly.

We picked this restaurant because it’s close to the theatre. A great find - we chose several sharing dishes for our group of four and all were delicious. The octopus was so good we ordered another! Service was friendly and efficient. All together great experience.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Andies. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to explain the dishes to us, which was particularly helpful as we were unfamiliar with some of the options. Their recommendations were excellent, and we were delighted that we trusted their judgement, as everything we chose was delicious. The food was exceptional, beautifully flavoured and clearly prepared with care. Service was prompt and efficient without ever feeling intrusive, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal. The restaurant has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, with background music at just the right volume to allow conversation to flow comfortably. It would be equally suitable for an intimate dinner or a meal with a larger group. Overall, Andies is a fantastic restaurant with excellent food, attentive service and a welcoming ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily recommend it to others and is situated perfectly for those visiting Anita’s Theatre.
