Reservamos en este restaurante asiático para noche vieja ya que era uno de los pocos que no te obligaba a coger menú de año nuevo con el coste que esto significa. Fue todo genial, estaba relativamente cerca de zona centro (Times Square), muy buen precio, el personal atento y encantador, la comida fenomenal y el lugar la verdad que bien ambientado y bonito. Nos gusta este tipo de comida y fue una gran elección. Totalmente recomendable.

Convenient to Broadway theatres, open later so great for post-show meal. Food was very tasty, choices plentiful (for both big and small appetites), service excellent. A terrific after-theatre spot to eat!

Great food, great service and wonderful vibe to this busy restaurant but did not feel rushed. Wifi would have been useful as visitors from UK and not having mobile data we were not able to use the QR code to open the menu, however staff happily and quickly provided us with physical menus.

With all the great reviews I was expecting good food. Food was mediocre at best. $30 Fish was unedible because of the "fishiness" of the fish (and I am a big fish eater, and like fish). Picked this place because convenient to theaters and the good reviews. Next time I will pick differently.

Our meals were fabulous and the restaurant was very conveniently located within walking distance of our hotel. We particularly enjoyed the calamari, pad thai, and chicken green curry. It was a bit noisy, but what popular restaurant isn't on a Friday night? All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend!

I'd gotten takeout from here but never been in person...so glad we went! Our food was excellent as always (even better in person of course) but watching and smelling all of the other dishes passing by made me want to go back again asap. This is a really vibrant, happening restaurant and seemed like the place to be, on a Tuesday night no less. The value was insanely good, especially for NYC these days. The only negative is it is a little noisy - not in a really bad way necessarily- very energetic, but I wouldn't try to do a business dinner or take anyone hard of hearing there. Great for a date or a couple of friends together.

All in all it was a wonderful dining experience. I can’t say it was the most amazing food I have had, but it was very very good. The service was terrific, the atmosphere was wonderful so it was a nice evening out.

Obao was the best place we ate on our brief visit to the City. The cocktails were imaginative and tasty. The server was responsive and helpful but not hovering. The Shrimp Yom Tum soup was perfection - warm, moderately spicy and fragrant with perfectly cooked shrimp. The duck noodles were amazing - soft but not gooey noodles with excellent seasoning. We were done in time to make our show but never felt rushed or pressured. We ate upstairs and the ambiance was lovely. We will definitely go back when we get back to town

Not going back due to very poor and silently rude service where we were ignored after ordering appetizers and drinks. Waiter never came to check whether items were good and to take entree orders although we were directly in his line of sight as he checked on the tables exactly to the left and right of us, four times. Yes, we counted as we tried to get his attention as he had his back to us while checking on the tables. We were definitely treated differently than others so while we suspect it was as a result of our skin, not sure. Either way, will dine elsewhere and we did just that after walking out and hitting up another restaurant for dinner.

Excellent food. Wonderfully flavorful. They were able to make some dishes less spicy for the kids and regular spicy for the adults. The service was fantastic and Kim was a great server. If pressed to give a “need to improve” I would just say that the appetizers were a little too small. They were made for one person and not really enough to even share with one other person.

I am a real Thai/asian food fan so I was excited to try a new place. Sadly, Obao was a major disappointment. The spring rolls were hard and overcooked, the sparer ribs had good flavor and were large but a bit dry on the outside. The worst was the pad thai...dry, too sweet, and very sticky noodles (that didn't appear to be the traditional rice noodle -- almost like a spaghetti noodle. Unfortunately, this one is off the list.

The food was very flavorful but the freshness was not there. I enjoyed the variations on classics but feel like they can elevate the food with more fresh food. My spring rolls tasted reheated and were definitely not fresh.
