   They get their fish from Japan 3x a week. Everything is so fresh! I love the chef's specials nigiri and their amaebi is the best I've had anywhere. They also have one of my favorite sakes (shibata black yuzu). Service is absolutely impeccable. Would recommend reservations since it's a smaller restaurant and this place is pretty popular. Another thing I love is how easy it is to get here and find parking. It's not too "in" the city (about 4 minutes right off the highway) and each time I've come here there's easy to find (paid) parking that's about a 3 min walk from the restaurant.

   Was at Okane twice the last week, once for lunch and once for dinner. Was in town for GDC. Both times it was an amazing experience, everyone loved it. Can have a business conversation without problems plus it was not crazy crowded like all other venues close to GDC. 100% worth the 10 minute Uber drive and price/quality was very good for the experience provided. Will be back here for sure next time I am in SF.

   Upon entering the restaurant, we were ignored despite being the only customers and had a reservation. When someone (who I assume was the manager) finally acknowledged us, he seemed annoyed that we were there and immediately informed us the kitchen closes in an hour so we need to order and eat quickly. Basically trying to rush us out. It felt so awkward and unwelcoming that we almost left but ultimately decided to stay because we were hungry. Two people showed up 15 min after us, were seated behind us, and they did not receive the same treatment - reason is unclear. Food was fine and our waitress was lovely but will not be back as the treatment left a bad taste. I was trying to take my visiting family to their first meal in SF and this was just a terrible first impression.

   Average sushi place. Nothing popped as tasty and exciting. Small tables, looks like a hike in the wall turned to Michelin star.. I think it’s overrated.

    The restaurant imposes a 6% living wage surcharge. 6%. No disclosure up front just appeared in your check. I don’t appreciate these hidden charges.

    Our experience was good overall. The sashimi was a highlight. Very fresh and with lovely texture. The rolls and spinach were very good. We reserved bar seating which we got, but it was around the corner from the chef activity so we couldn't really see what was happening. Our seating was very much out of the way and faced a chef work space that was not in use. A little disappointing.

    Six day trip in SF, decided to stop in for this well reviewed sushi restaurant for my last meal before the airport. I accessed the website and was given the opportunity to sign up for a mailer and special offers. I signed up and then proceeded to browse the menu, book a res and pick out selections for my table of 4. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Food came out at the appropriate temperatures, plating was thoughtful and timing of dishes was almost spot on. Table marking left a little to be desired. Otherwise… Very happy. Upon finished the meal I received an email saying thank you from Okane and included a special gift. Was for 20% off your first meal using the InKind app and prepaying for a gift card. I thought simple enough… wrong. After four attempts or accepting the $250 GC charge through Apple Pay and no credit being issued I ask the servers for help. They were not aware of the process and moved to the manager on duty. Very nice gentleman, but not knowledgeable about the process, or helpful at all. Ignored me and went back to his laptop work, at one of the dining tables (not a good look for the restaurant) After sitting at the table with three iPhones out trying to figure this out. (Embarrassing to my guests and myself) No solution was found. Spoke with manager again who assured me I could call InKind, talk to customer service and “maybe they can handle it.” That was not the type of response I was expecting from a restaurant who hung the Michelin logo in the front entrance. I did attempt. No phone number available. Only a “help” field to send via the app… I’ll never hear from them again. Finally after 15+ mins and a flight to catch I reluctantly paid the full bill… short a considerable amount of money, for a lunch meal. Meal feel massively short due to poor management and handling of a guests which is a major issue. Would of happy given a significantly better rating. As a chef, I dine out/pay for service, and enjoy being taken care of occasionally

    Fantastic little Japanese restaurant. Staff was incredible and attentive. Chefs were amazing and prepared incredible dishes. Sashimi was fantastic and the Spicy Squash was incredible. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet date night.

    Haven't had too much sushi in the Bay Area but this is by far the best I've had. Great selection, amazing taste, nice hosts. The place was a little smokey, not sure if they had an exhaust, but it only flared up when they were making certain dishes. Tiger Roll and all the nigiri was spot on!

    What a great place to eat! The staff is extremely nice, outgoing and helpful. The food is a cut above the Japanese restaurants I’m used to. The menu has some real treats - ask the staff what’s special that day and they’ll ke care of you! I recommend this place as a perfect date night or a casual but high quality meal.

    Server was in a hurry to turn the table. Our normal meal usually is 1 1/2-2 hours. This one was 45 minutes. Food came to the table quickly with no regard to where we where finished with our last course. You don’t dine here for fast food.

    I wanted to have sushi and sashimi while I was staying in San Francisco and OpenTable suggested Okane. I wanted to sample how fresh the produce was and asked for a chef's selection of nigiri. I also mentioned I would be allergic to Squid and Octopus so that the chef can make amendments to fit my dietary restrictions. Nigiri was fresh and I loved them. The atmosphere was a bit tense (perhaps I was one of the last few patrons in) and felt a bit uncomfortable during my stay. As soon as I finished my meal, I called for the check, paid and left quickly. Delicious food, the chef's selection is a steal ($35 for 6 pieces of fresh nigiri), I might give it a try again with friends in the evening.

    Came here for a business lunch with my team (4 of us). I made a reservation for 12.30pm and we were seated prompted when we arrived. The server took our order and the food arrived quickly. While all the dishes were tasty, the wagyu sushi and matcha Mont Blanc were the standout. The server didn't get our hamachi carpaccio order in though, which I didn't realize until after we have left. We didn't get charged so it wasn't the biggest deal, but otherwise I'd have given the service 5 stars. There were only 1-2 other parties other than us on Monday lunch. The food is really good so I hope the restaurant stays in business.

    The food was a bit expensive for its value compared to other sushi restaurants in SF in my opinion; but food/preparation style/plating was great and staff was friendly. Great for date nights given its taste/vibe/presentation
