Good food! A little noise but expected because of location. Great time overall.
We probably planned this brunch wrong since the World Cup Final was on, so the noose level was probably greater than usual. The food was amazing and the service was ok.
We've been to OEG quite a few times, so I feel guilty reviewing it again. The multiple times speaks for itself - it's a very nice place for a Sunday brunch. Love the French toast, and the crab cakes are delicious.
We went here three times during our trip to DC! My daughter loved the food (which is rare) and we had great food and service every time!!!
Great selection, food, and service. What a treasure!
Tremendous food and service. We seated in a quieter space outside main restaurant which was great for conversation, but lacked some of the ambience.
Overall very positive
I was please with everything except for my meal. I order the PoBoy. Being from New Orleans, I expected a sandwich on a bagette or French bread. It was just an overfried piece of catfish. It wasn't well seasoned or anything. I would not order again. But I have been her before and enjoyed the food. This is not a deal breaker by any means.
Decor was dated and old-fashioned, first server didn’t explain much nor was she courteous (2nd who took over after the shift change was better), and the dishes were slightly overpriced for what was they offered; had better ambiance and service in many other DC restaurants as a tourist; I understand it was busy and our food was flavorful, but I wouldn’t return.
Excellent selections of oysters. Lots of great choices on the menu for entrees. Bloody Maryland cocktail was simply delicious. Service and ambience were great.
Perfect place for breakfast! Great service, great food!
Third time I've eaten here, and delicious just like the last two! Got the Healthy Choice brunch omelet - tasty omelet, sausage, and a nice little fruit bowl. Server was exceptionally pleasant and thorough in her knowledge of the menu.
Sandwiches were great but the fried chicken (in the chicken and waffles dish) was over cooked & the French toast was lackluster & an ingredient was left off. As a former server, I felt that service was a little awkward. I think my expectations were too high since three people recommended this place.
Fantastic! Great local spot with lots of history. Oysters were amazing and the meatloaf was delicious. Can't wait to visit again.
Our server was excellent, as well, as the food. We have been coming to the OEG before it relocated to its 15th Street location.
Food was good. Felt that the steaks were a little overpriced.
My family and I had a wonderful dinner. Our waiter’s recommendations were on point. We will definitely dine there in the future again!
A must do if you’re in Washington DC!
Food was good but not outstanding. Was originally seated in the Grill area and had to request being in the main dining room which was a bit annoying as I had indicated it was a special occasion. Service was solid.
We loved the experience of the Old Ebbitt Restaurant.
Food was cold. Sandwich was dry. Service was great.
The Old Ebbitt Grill for dinner was perfect after spending a full day touring Washington DC! Great food and atmosphere!
Awesome, as always
Food took way too long. Otherwise great.
We've gone to Old Ebbit entry time we visit DC, but it's been several years since last here. I'm sad to say it's not the same, but could be where we were seated (in the lobby area of the building away from the restaurant) - it really like we were even there. The menu is much smaller than it used to bebe.
Delicious and excellent service ! A must when in DC !
We were told by friends that Old Ebbitt Grill was a must-do in D.C. We went early (6:15 pm reservation) and were seated by the hostess stand, next to the packed bar. The place was so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves, much less the waiter. Food was 5-star - soft-shell crab and scallops were absolutely wonderful. Service was good too. We just won't go back to a totally touristy, jam-packed, sports-bar-like scene. Been there, done that.
Ordered the scallops which were some of the best I've ever had. My waiter also recommended the perfect white wine. So glad I went!
Great place to visit when you are in DC. The entire visit was great. Atmosphere, food, and service were amazing!!!!
Old Ebbitt Grill is a great establishment and one that should be visited when in Washington. It's unique, great food, and terrific service.
Great ambiance, great drinks, but if you're a vegetarian, you are a little limited in what you can eat. Overall, it's an iconic place to spend time at.
Swordfish was superb.
Dependable as always. Nice welcome, good food, reasonable prices.
Will come back to DC just to eat here.
Historic eatery. Ambience makes it worthwhile if you Re visiting the White House.
An all around 5 Star experience!
We had a wonderful time and I would go back if ever given the opportunity, however, I would have given 5 stars if we were not seated in the corner by the bar. As out of towners this was our first time here and would have preferred the full dining experience. I made reservations a week in advance! The hostess claimed she couldn’t seat a party of 7 in the dining room because it doesn’t accommodate parties that size but I saw two parties of 8 seated in the main room. 😢
Worst experience ever. Seated late with reseveration. Waiter took order and after 40 minutes nothing ever showed up. Not even drinks. Finally after contiplating what to do we walked out and went to Joe's. At Joe's we received excellent service and food. They even comped a dessert for Ebbits terrible experience.
Food was really good and service was great! My portion was huge and I couldn’t finish. Kind of a waste. Really loud and crowded. Lots of tourists - including us. Fun decor though and had we been there earlier, we would have looked around at the art and decor.
Best crab cakes I have had in years! Excellent service!
