Old Hickory Steakhouse
This my first time at the restaurant. I really was not too impressed with the restaurant and should have known something was off as we entered...it was not busy as I would have expected for a "steak house" on a Saturday night. I had the filet mignon and my friend the ribeye with sides of Caesar salad and the whipped potatoes. Everything was average to include the rolls and the cost not warranted in my opinion, the cocktails (did not love the drink options... however settled and did not order another one), and the dessert selection....nothing appealed to either of us and we are dessert lovers. I will see if the other steak houses located on the Harbor are worth the hype...I appreciate the ambience however I LOVE and DESIRE GREAT FOOD as I have eaten at some phenome steak houses in Florida, LA and Vegas. Lastly, I must make mention...the staff was attentive.
Our waiter, Happy, was exuberant! Wonderful service!!
It was one of the best steakhouses we have been too, and one of the most expensive. I would strongly recommend for a special occasion where you will easily spend $100 per person.
The food was delicious and service was attentive and very well done.
The food and service was great. I thank you for making my special occasion e great experience.
Food was great but not for the steep price.
My Mother's Birthday was ruined! She cried most of the way home.... Enough said!
What a way to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary but at the old hickory steakhouse at national harbor! Upon entering, we were addressed by name and grade it with great smiles. We were seated at our table within 3 minutes, WOW! Our server, Anthony was very professional, courteous, friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and after seeing that we were having a little difficulty selecting our meal, Anthony recommended the Tomahawk steak dinner with sautéed spinach and peewee potatoes, what an awesome selection! The food was delicious. We could not believe that we ate all of it!! For our dessert, we had the orange sorbet it was OK the raspberry sorbet would have really been great but you didn’t have it on the menu, just small Recommendation. What an awesome way to spend our 26th wedding anniversary with the old hickory steakhouse and our server Anthony!
Great meal and fantastic service. Our waiter, Andrew, did everything he could to ensure we enjoyed our meals - providing recommendations and assurances about our choices. The steak was cooked exactly as we requested and the pace of the service allowed us plenty of time to relax while never feeling like we had been forgotten. We will definitely return.
We were disappointed with our dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse. This was our first visit. We were celebrating our 42nd Anniversary. I reviewed the menu online prior to our visit and could not wait to try the lamb chops. I could not find them on the menu; I was told they no longer have them and have not updated the online menu. Begrudgingly I ordered the lamb shank. Edible but nothing like lamb chops. My husband ordered a special that included NY Strip and Scallops. The scallops were delicious but the steak had to be sent back. He ordered medium and it came out very rare. Our Brussel Sprouts were barely cooked, could not eat them. Very expensive dinner cost $260; ridiculous for what we received.
Nice place. GREAT VIEW OF THE RIVER. Food was good. Service was average.
Overall we enjoyed our visit .
Service could have been a lot better. We were left waiting a long time between the end of the meal and dessert, and then dessert and the final bill. It’s like we dropped off the radar after the meal was served.
Great steak house. Cooked as order and quality, delicious. We ordered the tomahawk and cowboy. Impressive presentation of the tomahawk.
Great food, service and venue.
The food was good but worth the price? Only because my employer was paying the bill.
This was a return visit, third for me, and the restaurant looked shabby. Upholstery was literally hanging off of the bottom of some chairs in the dining room. The service was just OK and the lobster bisque was too salty. The steak was good and cooked properly, however, for the price I was disappointed.
Food was delicious and cooked to perfection! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect.
We expected better service than we received. The place was not in the top-top shape we remember: tablecloths were showing signs of wear as well as the floors. Food was great
My family of four went here for a birthday celebration. With steakhouses, you know you are not going there for value. But the steaks themselves were so covered with salt and pepper that the steaks were disappointing. Our waiter had to check on what beers they had, and they only had 5-6. The rolls were stale. One of us got a seafood item, and that seemed to be the best of the orders. Overall, a big disappointment.
Awesome food! Great service with an atmosphere of elegance!
My daughter took me here for my birthday dinner along with my 2 granddaughters.
The food was awesome and the service was excellent.
I was a little worried because we had traveled a ways and barely made our reservation, but was dressed in casual jeans and Tee's. But we were treated no different than those dressed to the Nine's as they say.
I will definitely recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends, and will revisit when I'm in the area again.
Excellent food, drink, service, and atmosphere for our business meeting! Will definitely be back.
Waiter was good and bartender was nice. We were celebrating our anniversary and a birthday. Arrived 15 minutes before reservation and told they were running behind on tables. However as we walked through the restaurant there were less than 6 tables filled. At the bar we had a terrible "old fashioned". My expectations were high for bar at a steakhouse. While at the bar, we heard they were out of one of side dishes and told not to order the lobster bisque. We ordered the chicken and the porterhouse. Chicken had a weird flavor but edible. The steak was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price. Floors and window sills were dirty. Cloth napkins left lint everywhere. Wine glasses were dirty and covered in lint. In and out in approximately 50 minutes and the restaurant was still empty. Not a dinig experience I ever need to have again.
Great food and service, could be a bit more expansive menu. Great cooking--right temperature, quality, presentation... pricing not cheap though
Service was inattentive and slow compared to my other experiences at Old hickory steakhouse. Had to find my waitress twice to place orders and get the bill. Not the most professional experience in front of clients...
This was a wonderful place to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. The filet mignon was about the best I had. There was great, old-world customer service with knowledgeable staff to guide us on our menu selections and wine pairings. This will be one of our top selections when we want to have a memorable meal and evening.
This Steakhouse is way better than the MGM good prices and Quality much bigger for your money's worth, we are definitely coming back!!!
the only problem was I had ask for a little birthday cake for my wife be for we got there that was not done and the greeter baught it up as we were checking in for dinner in front of my wife so no cake and no surpise it was kind of a mute point and that time
Service was amazing. Our steaks were cooked more than our liking but still delicious. Kid friendly at least our kids were fine and we received compliments about how well behaved they were. Portions are a good size too.
We were disappointed in the poor quality of the steaks. Our party got New York strip and Filet. All had tendon gristle and were tough. Another table sent their steak back due to toughness. Others we spoke to out our RJ conference expressed same disappointment. Not worth the money and won't go back.
We were here for a business convention. We meet friends and family for a wonderful dinner. The crab cakes were delicious. The other food was also. Enjoyed the service too
We have gone here several times. This time for our 24th wedding anniversary and I was shocked that neither of our entree selections were not available- NO Porterhouse Steak and NO lamb chops! The menu selection is limited which made it more difficult to selection an alternative. We chose the rib eye steak and salmon. Food was great, atmosphere was superb as was the view (the sunset.
Very pleased with our server and food! highly recommend!
I can not begin to tell you how disappointing this restaurant was. They were out of many of the items on the menu when we ordered. My chicken was beyond tough and odd tasting. It was a mediocre dining experience.
Went for mother’s day and was still treated like a V.i.P guest event with it being busy! Loved it
My mom is so spoiled. She requested dinner at the Old Hickory Steakhouse in the Gaylord Hotel for Mother’s Day. The food and service was impeccable as usual! We expect no less!
The Tomahawk Steak special (dinner for two) was outstanding! It was quite possibly the best tasting steak I've ever had. I will definitely be back!
The food was very delicious.
Food was OK, but certainly not worth the price. We've been going here since it opened and the seafood tower, for instance, slated for 4 people has shrunk slowly over the years. It is now equivalent to the original seafood tower for 2 people. Likewise, the 'farmers' salad was just odd in its arrangement -- huge pieces greens making it nearly impossible to eat. Steaks were on point and good.
Our original server kept disappearing to eventually be replaced with one we recognized who did much better.
Excellent as always. Our favorite place to eat. Never disappointed. Great service and great food
