The service was superb and the afternoon tea was deliscious, especially the cakes, they were amazing! The variety of teas available was impressive and they were full of flavour. Staff were so friendly and helpful, loved every minute and will definitely be back and recommend to friends

Auf der Bank wo ich sass, waren ganz viele Krümmel von jemandem, der vor mir da sass. Meine Serviette war dreckig. Eine Teesorte war nicht da (ohne, das die Bedienung das wusste); die Sandwiches etwas Ideenlos, Die süssen speisen ok. ( Ausser das mit dem Schimmelkäse) Kann man machen, muss man nicht. Schon sehr viel bessere Tea times all over the world gehabt.

We had a great experience and we reserved this to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Our server, Iona was excellent and arranged a few things to surprise the birthday girl. A wide variety of good-tasting tea selections coupled with good food made this experience even better. Thank you!

Loved the overall experience mostly due to the incredible service from Iona and the setting in the Peacock Alley. The food was good but not the best high noon tea we have experienced; the scones were a little too dry for our liking as an example. The tea selection is extraordinary and it covers all palette and preferences. You have the option for different coffees but with that tea selection, we stayed true to the concept. A great one time experience (at least for us).

It was okay. Nowhere near the level of an afternoon tea at a Belmond or Red Carnation Hotel. The staff were lovely, but getting their attention was tough. The sandwich course was not really up to standard but the pastries and cakes course was brilliant. Tea selection was excellent too. But, there is none of the finesse you get at other luxury afternoon teas. The live music was lovely. The staff setting up a stage for the evening entertainment right next to the tables, screeching stools across the floor and lugging heavy equipment around guests for almost an hour was not. The cutlery and crockery was not of a particularly high standard, and we had to clean our own seats because they were still covered in crumbs from a previous guest. We just expected a lot more. For context a Red Carnation Hotel or Belmond Hotel afternoon tea is usually about the same price, but they just do so much more, and put so much more effort into it, so this was quite a let down.

We have been here many times before, but this time made our 49th Anniversary very special. Our waitress Sioban was perfect attentive, but unobtrusive and the food was outstanding. We both agreed that it was our best visit ever. Thank you.

Fabulous spread, lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly, excellent service from Lewis who was very attentive and had a lovely manner. We loved our experience and will be having our treats that we took away in boxes later tonight. All the food was delicious my favourite was the scones & Cherry jam, outstanding !

What a fabulous place, beautifully set out and a relaxing. Staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was excellent and well laid out, one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had. Would recommend and would book again

We had a great afternoon at the peacock alley. The sandwiches and sweet treats tasted delicious and the tea was great too. The staff was really nice and our server Iona was really friendly and took great care of us.

We had a fantastic lunch after our spa treatments. Food was excellent, I had the lamb flat bread which was sp tasty and a good amount. The service was outstanding from I think Iona. It was my friends birthday, my friend asked is the hot smoked salmon not supposed to be hot but she was told no which was fine but the waitress ran away and we thought she was upset but then she hurried back with a plate of the salmon but it was hot. She then noticed my friend was looking at the cakes on the cake stand at next table, after we finished our course she brought over 2 of the marvellous cakes for us for free. Next she brought over a large plate of sweets which had congratulations written on the plate. My friend was so touched by the thought. It was all done with a smile, she was so lovely and we had a lovely time. Later that night we went for a 7 course tasting menu with wine parings at the other large famous hotel, we didn't enjoy most of the courses and although the staff were polite they didn't show the warmth and kindness we were shown at this wonderful restaurant which was disappointing considering the price. We will be back and thank you so much for making it so special 💗

We treated ourselves (family of 4 with teen kids) to afternoon tea at Peacock Alley. It was a fantastic and memorable experience. The sandwiches were delicious and the desserts scrumptious. Definitely the best place to experience a proper afternoon tea. Our hostess was fantastic and very accommodating.

I have been to quite a few afternoon teas, but this was my first at Peacock Alley and certainly one of my favourites. The tea has a rotating theme and at the time I was there, it was all based around an old English sweet shop. Everything looked and tasted incredible - I don't like liquorice all sorts, but they worked their magic to make even this a tasty treat when reimagined as a cake! The service was excellent, my friend and I felt as though we had all the time in the world, with no sense of being rushed, while striking a balance with being attentive so that we could get more refreshments if we desired. The ambiance is very peaceful, helped by the pastel colour scheme and gentle music, which is a welcome escape from the bustle of the city. I would certainly visit again!

Service was top notch. Iona, our server was amazing. She explained to us what all the food was, and her tea recommendations were on point. We were there for 3.5 hours and never felt rushed. Reception personell helped us with our wet umbrellas and brought them back to our table dry! An excellent experience over all.

Lovely spacious dining area with a very friendly maitre d' and staff who were attentive but not sycophantic and made sure we were comfortable in every way. But it was the food was spot on. The savouries were a delight with a range of breads and savoury pastries baked to perfection and full of flavour. The cakes were inspired by traditional sweets but weren't at all over loaded with sugar. Tiny packets of flavour and texture sometimes very cleverly done. The one i liked the least was the cola one based on the chew but that's because I didn't like the original much either. However, it was still delicious and I thought the way the sponge had been made to be chewy was so clever and like nothing I'd eaten before. An afternoon I will remember but hope to repeat soon.

Melony was an outstanding server, explaining all our food items and tea with great knowledge and straightforward information on tasting notes. She also offered to use our phone to capture a family photo which I appreciated. Highly recommend!

Food and service were excellent, I took my wife for afternoon tea as a belated birthday present and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely recommend coming to Peacock Alley for a unique experience.

Lovely afternoon tea, that I could get childrens and pescetarian options was great, and the service was excellent. The stars of the show were the scones, the savoury options were excellent and the desserts were all lovely if perhaps a little too sweet and rich.

We have afternoon tea here about 2 or 3 times per year. This time was by far the best in terms of service. The young lady who served us (can’t recall her name) was extremely attentive, knowledgable about the vegan menu, was chatty and had a laugh without being intrusive. Perfect service. The food was excellent (as always) my only suggestion would be to put a vegan cream, or vegan butter with the scones. Harpist was lovely and created a nice atmosphere.

Poor afternoon tea in a beautiful setting. Disappointing selection of sandwiches and no repeats. Scones were tiny and tasteless but the pastries were better and in particular the Battenberg was world class. Avoid and try elsewhere.

Unfortunately, on this occasion, the afternoon tea experience did not live up to expectation. The savoury selection was poor and came on individual plates and not a stand; the scones were miniscule; the water for the table was room temperature with no ice; there were no rests for the tea strainers; after requesting no egg mayonnaise for the vegetarian option, it came with an egg mayonnaise sandwich and the alternative offered was another of something already on the plate. The table position wasn’t great; it didn’t feel part of the room. I had my back to the room and everyone in it and faced the wall where as I should have been facing into the room.

Food was lovely as was the place. Slightly annoying that the tea no longer included a glass of fizz which made it less value for money. Also, the party I was with felt we would rather add a tip ourselves rather than have an assumed service charge added with the option to further tip.

We had an lovely time at afternoon tea. Everything was perfect and the service was outstanding. It is a little pricy but for us it was worth it because it felt really special and the food and tea was so good. The music was also really nice and calming, both the piano and the harp. Would absolutely recommend.

What a wonderful afternoon tea! We had two vegan ones, and it was so special. The food was delicious, there were so many options for tea. As vegans, we didn't feel like our choices were limited. Iona was wonderful, as well. Highly recommend!
