Great food, treated like family, with reservation never have to wait. Had their Linguine with white clam entree and it was one of the best I’ve had anywhere.
The food was great and the waitress was nice but not the greatest., we had to ask for bread. We asked to bring the salad and appetizer at different times and they brought them together. When they wrapped up our food to go they put both meals in one container in lieu of one bag
We love everything about Piccolo Restaurant, beautiful atmosphere , cozy, service, food is outstanding, parking is next to the restaurant. We will comeback with our friends next time!
Not so great but hey it’s NJ not going to get much. The fish was literally dipped in margarine and the pasta (penne vodka) was more like a Trader Joe’s microwaveable bag. Service was ehhh you would imagine the waiters cleaning the table at least and giving new plates. I’m sure ppl love this place and I wish it well. I’m not a returning customer however.
Had the homemade pappardelle in a braised lamb ragu with ricotta and was delicious! Very quaint restaurant run by the nicest owners!
Burrata appetizer was amazing , veal parm excellent. The seafood and pappardelle special unfortunately had all ends of broccoli rabe , but seafood was good . Service started out great and then it went downhill. Waiter never checked on how our dinner was, water glasses empty a while... never asked for desert . Had to flag down the hostess for our check... cramped tables.
We return over and over again-the service is always impeccable, and the owner goes out of her way to greet us. They are very sensitive to my food allergies and make sure that what I order is acceptable. Cant wait to go back soon!
Great spot for dinner with friends. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. Our waiter, Marco was exceptional. He was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Marco made the evening fun and enjoyable. We look forward to going back again soon.
Great place with very nice atmosphere. Food is consistently good. The owner and staff are very friendly and attentive. Prices are ‘ok’ but I guess standard for dining in Ridgewood.
Great as always. Had the eggplant rollatini, beet salad and lamb with parpadelle. Everything was perfect. What a gem.
A fantastic evening with friends that was equally matched by the food and service offered by the Piccolo staff. We look forward to coming back in the summer to eat or their patio.
Christmas Eve Dinner- Was OK. Nothing fantastic. $14 lobster bisque with hardly any lobster. Linguini with lobster tail and mussels was ok but wasn’t crazy about it. They told kids they had chicken nuggets but they were cutlet strips so my kids freaked out.
Ambiance was great, service was attentive, and we loved the fact that it’s BOYB. The appetizers were tasty, but the majority of our main course dishes (in a group of five) were underwhelming— especially for the price of a NYC restaurant. For example, the risotto was undercooked and the guest who ordered it felt uncomfortable afterwards, and the meat—based pasta dish was bland
Wouldn’t recommend based on our experience.
The food was fresh and amazing and our server was great. Reservation was easy and I would definitely go back.
My dish was a little too salty for my taste
I had the sole stuffed with crab meat. I didn’t care for the 2 potato croquettes that were in my plate
Second time at this restaurant and would recommend it. It is pricier than it needs to be I think though. I had a pasta special w/ shrimp and sausage; didn't ask the price b/c how much can pasta be? It was $37, which I thought was way too much. It was good though. Veal chop was also pricey and was tough. But the ambiance is nice and service is very good. I'd go back, but I don't really think it's a good value proposition. There are definitely less expensive items, but lots of the main dishes, maybe most, are in the $30s and the salads are pricey also.
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding.
Thank you for making my anniversary special.
Attentive server, cute venue. Good food, a bit pricey.
Piccolo bistro is the cutest little Italian spot with a quaint courtyard perfect for outdoor dining. Great place for date night which I’ve enjoyed with my boyfriend as well as girls night out! Most recently my girlfriends and I enjoyed the eggplant croquettes and seafood pasta. The complimentary home made chocolate with ice cream was such a nice touch at the end of our evening and we were very appreciative!
Entire evening was a pleasure - good and FRIENDLY service starting with our reserved table Marked and waiting for us. The only sour grapes lay with one of the specials, a seafood pasta, which came out looking beautiful and was tasty but alas, the pasta was severely overcooked and was quite soft and mushy
Food service was very slow on a busy Saturday night. Street performer playing saxophone on sidewalk right outside the restaurant was awful and made it painful to eat outside. Waiter actually apologized to patrons for the bad music.
Skip this place. Took 45 minutes to even get bread. Food was subpar and service was poor. No followup for water , anything.
We have eaten there before and returned with friends of ours to introduce them to this lovely dining experience. They both enjoyed their food tremendously. We will be back again.
The dinner at Piccolo Bistro was excellent! The sole was prepared to perfection and the Caprese salad was comprised of fresh tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. Sitting outside was the perfect ambiance until a storm came up forcing us inside. This was done effortlessly and quickly. We were not rushed; allowed to linger over lemon sorbet and decaf coffee. My friends and I are looking forward to returning in the near future and highly recommend this dining experience!!!
Food, service and ambience were all wonderful! We wish they hadn’t taken so long to open our wine - but no big deal. It was a busy night! Burratta - delicious! GF pasta was excellent. Lamb chop special was delicious - small portion, but as expected with lamb chops - cooked perfectly medium rare. All six people in our party were happy!!😊
Cute place. Food is good!
Fantastic birthday dinner
We will be back!
We love this restaurant and keep returning because of the great food and warm greeting we receive each time from the owners! Our waiter was very patient as I have several food allergies and made sure that I could modify my order. This time however, it took quite long to get our main dishes(over an hour from the time we were seated) so we were a bit surprised, but still intend to keep returning.
Perfect, fresh pasta. Great, caring service. A nice outdoor covered patio space that is NOT on the sidewalk.
Food and service was great! Really enjoyed the meal. Had the tagliatelle Nero which tasted so fresh. Unfortunately unable to sit in the lovely outdoors patio because it was 95 degrees, but it looked beautiful!
We love this place. The food is delicious and the kitchen is so accommodating to our fussiness. It is a BYO and we never have a complaint. Quiet! So unusual in many places and we have comfortable conversations. My book club now meets here monthly because of the ambiance and food. Highly recommend
Authentically prepared Italian and Italian American cuisine. Wonderful flavors. Attentive service. Casual trattoria like setting.(in or out). BYOB. Above all very attentive service (thanks Marco). At the top of our list when thinking of places to go in Ridgewood.
Went here twice in one week- with better food and experience at lunch than at dinner. Lunch salads were good, along with superb broccoli rabe. At dinner we sat outside, enjoying being protected from the rain. Our octopus with garbanzos and roasted red peppers was tasty but overly salted. Mains were a slightly tough veal chop, served with tasty layered parsnips and carrots; chicken Francese that was fine, and papardelle in a lamb ragu sauce that was ok. Things seemed tastier at lunch- but service was superb; and the tiramisu was terrific. It’s BYOB which is always a plus!
You can never go wrong dining at this fabulous local gem. The food is tremendous and the service is outstanding
Always feels like home in this state of the art dining experience
We are regulars and wouldn’t have it any other way
Wasn't impressed with the food. The appetizer that was a special for the night. It was eggplant and it was burnt on the bottom and could not cut through it with a knife. I showed the waiter and he said nothing. I had the sausage with penne vodka. Vodka sauce was good, sausage not so good. Did not eat any of the sausage. Garden outdoor setting is nice, but not a place I would visit again.
We had lovely time and our server was excellent. He went above and beyond anticipating the needs of my elderly parents and extra guests and food allergies. Great experience.
We love this place but that night was disappointing. The waiter forgot about us. It took forever to get our dinners and they were dry perhaps overlooked but seemed like they were sitting for a while. We took people here and bragged about it beforehand and we had to go to the counter to get our check at the end of the night. Too bad. We hope they figure out what seems to be wrong because we loved it.
Picolo Bistro delivers excellence again! Wonderful evening with fresh, delicious food. Great value and we leave with smiles on our faces as we are treated like family
We will return again and again
Great food and sat outside which was an enjoyable experience!!
