We made it to the ✨️ Grand Re-Opening of 8 Ping Yang ✨️ in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood a little later than planned, but it was still such a great experience! The energy in the space was vibrant, and the food was absolutely worth the wait. We got to enjoy their bold flavors as the menu blends authentic Thai flavors with global culinary influences, inspired by Chef Ice's extensive world travels. This is probably not the best indicator of how this restaurant usually is, as I went here for Valentine’s Day, and they had a preset menu. They had two options, a 99$ 5 course, and a 65$ 3 course. My date and I decided to do the 3 course meal. I got the crab cakes for a starter, Tom ka soup with prawn And steak The crab cakes were awesome.. really made me excited for the rest of the night.. The tom ka was a double shot of a broth, and a prawn that lived in the freezer so long it was mucky after being cooked. Wuper let down. The steak was painfully small, but tastes decent. My date got the ceviche, the desert , and the lobster The fish used in the ceviche was old. Tasted too fishy. She said the lobster was good, but nothing special.. she did love the tiramisu. The Asian lady was great, she deserves a 5 star for service and personality. The white guy kept trying to remove dishes Or drinks (4 times he did this) before we were finished. 1/3rd left in my beer and picking it up without asking.. super annoying. So overall, the crab cakes were the star, everything else was either not good, or mediocre. The service was either excellent, or crap depending on who cane by.

Food was OK. There were three different sound sources upon entering - two different types of music and a television. Was hoping for a less overly stimulating date night experience. Menu was a bit confusing. I think with some adjustments could be a good neighborhood spot but needs some love and more attention to detail.

It was a festive setting. So nice to not have to cook. The food was so unusual and beautifully presented. Where else can you get Goose! And with a Thai stuffing. Great value on a set menu.

The peanut satay fondue is a must order!!! A small, vibey spot serving up delicious cocktails and food.

They hosted us for my wife’s birthday dinner and were incredibly accommodating. Food and drink were excellent!!
