Our newest restaurant, Afghania is the sister restaurant to Bistro Aracosia in the Palisades neighborhood of DC, Aracosia in McLean Va and Afghan Bistro in Springfield VA. Afghania accommodates any diet and is proud of taking cooking back to its origins.

Welcome to Afghania, where the Steppe of Central Asia meets the Hindu Kush and Suleiman Mountain Range, bordering South Asia. Come and enjoy the warm hospitality, exquisite flavors, and the mystery of the Afghan frontier that so many have been intrigued by.
At Afghania you will enjoy some classical dishes of the warriors from the frontier. Smoked meats, vegetables full of flavor, exotic spices, exquisite flavors and aromas and unmatched hospitality are promised at Afghania.
Come and enjoy dishes that date back to the early 1800’s from the Afghan Empire - Afghania.

We had a nice overall experience at the restaurant. Our server, Zak, was terrific. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. The Palou which is listed as their signature dish was rather bland. The smoked lamb shank was cooked well, but the overall dish was not very flavorful. We had the assorted dumpling appetizer which was good, but hit the table lukewarm. We were also seated upstairs which was not nearly as charming as the dining room downstairs.

Amazing food. We ordered the sampler and got an immense amount of food for 2 people. The flavors were amazing and the staff super attentive. Would definitely go back!

Incredible experience at Afghania. Every dish had so much flavor and it was like eating a home cooked meal. Phenomenal and friendly service as well. Will return anytime we’re back in DC. Highly recommend.

Afghania is such a treat! From the food to the service to the creative drinks. It’s a whole vibe. I highly recommend it. The lamb shank is my favorite coupled with their assorted greens.
