Alta Calidad is located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn where Chef Akhtar Nawab is cooking innovative Mexican cuisine. The Spanish translation of "Alta Calidad" means "high quality" and it's our goal to provide that with every dish that we serve. Our goal is to cook with pride and integrity and have a lot of fun doing it!! We're thrilled to be part of this amazing Brooklyn community and we want each of you to join us and participate in this exciting adventure! Alta Calidad is a Michelin Bib Gourmand award winning restaurant and Certified Minority Owned Business.

    The worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We made an indoor reservation days in advance for Mother’s Day and specifically requested lower seating instead of high chairs. Despite the rain, the hostess tried to seat us outside at a completely wet table and chairs. When we explained the situation, she rudely said that was “all they could accommodate.” We asked to speak to the manager, Marko. Even though there were several empty tables inside, he refused to seat us there, saying they were reserved for later guests. He said “The rain started and because you booked with Open Table we had to move your seats outside”!! On Mother’s Day, with hungry children and in the middle of the rain, we were left outside with no consideration or empathy. We dine out often and spend a lot at restaurants, but I have never experienced such poor treatment and lack of customer care. Completely ruined a special day. Do not make reservations at this place.

    Beautiful restaurant. Great service and delicious food. Presentation of lunch dishes was lovely. 4 min walk from Penn Station. Highly recommend.

    Great happy hour! Good classic margarita for $10. And the chips were also very good. We then split two tacos which were delicious.

    We ate outside in a group of five, aged nine to 79. Food and drink was great. Lively location at the corner of Dean and Vanderbilt.
