We have always enjoyed the food and ambience at A’lu. Last night it took a ridiculous 35 minutes for a beverage order to arrive even after first courses were already delivered. Our waitperson was NOT the issue…it was the bar and also the kitchen both seeming to be lost to handle orders on a relatively quiet mid-week evening.

Outstanding atmosphere. Elevated Mexican. We really enjoyed the experience. Great restaurant for date night in Boynton Beach.

The food and server were good at A’Lu. A big negative was that we waited over 30 minutes for our 2 margaritas and 2 draft beers. The appetizer and entrees were already served before our cocktails had arrived. The restaurant was busy at the bar and tables and they only had one bartender. The bartender had no sense of urgency to serve people in a timely manner. Our waitress kept apologizing, but it wasn’t her fault. They did comp the drinks. It was weird. Never have seen a bar so slow.

The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Upbeat and modern. Service was lacking. Took a long time for someone to take our drink order and then waited for them to come back and take our dinner order. The food was good, but one dish was suppose to be a stuffed chicken, came unstuffed and looked sparce all by itself on the plate - nothing to dress up the plate or the chicken. In addition, there was no stuffing in what they called "stuffed" chicken!! It took the drinks 30 minutes to come to the table and was immediately followed by our dinner entrees not giving us enough time to first enjoy our drinks.

The place is lovely, the food we ordered was delicious, and the service was friendly. However, the only annoying thing was that we were still eating—we hadn't yet had the dessert included in the three-course meal—when they told us the remaining dessert had to be packed to go because they were closing. Immediately after, they brought us the bill while we were still eating. It was awkward, and we felt like we were being rushed out. Suggestion: stop seating new customers after a certain time, or warn people that they will have to eat very quickly or take their dinner home.

Place is very nice. We came on a Tuesday so they had Taco Tuesday specials. We got there at 6 pm the host was very sweet. We walked in and walked to the bar to catch the happy hour. There was 1 bartender. We sat to the front to enjoy drinks while waiting for our 7:15 reservation. We saw the Manager Josep reprimanding the female workers by the host desk where everyone can hear and see. The bartender gave me more change back than needed to. We tried to sit outside the mosquitoes were wildin out! We paid $15 for 2 empanadas and went to sit inside and the seating was scarce and the tables were too big to have an intimate setting with my husband. We decided to leave. The place is nice but the ambiance was boring and the music you could hardly hear. I will not be going back. Too bad because the empanadas were good. The waitress presentation did not exude “Welcome to A Lu Mexico.” Change the manager…, if you ask me he was rude and the employees were overheard complaining he’s a dictator and treats the girls like children. The bartender was by herself handling the bar and the front area. You should always have 2 in this case 3. One for each end of the bar and the 3rd the front of the bar area. Especially if you have happy hour everyday

Gorgeous room decor. Food was exceptionally great considering we came for fajitas. This creative menu nails it! Excellent mix of tastes.

I’ve always bypassed this restaurant on my way to work and wondered when they were ever open. Last night I opted for a delayed birthday dinner with just my daughters and I and chose to check A’Lu out. I’m so happy we did! The internal decor is modern and beautiful. The outside lake view is nice too. We made it in time for Happy Hour. I had delicious margaritas and another cocktail that I can’t remember the name of. The street tacos were pretty good. The Carne asada grabbed my vote, very tender with fresh onions and cilantro. My daughter and I had 6 between us! Lol for the entree I had delicious red snapper garnished with carrots, seeds, jalapeño and a few other things. So good I ordered another helping! Horchata ice cream & churros to polish off as my dessert and I was good to go home. I’ll be seeing you again! And thank you to the staff on shift between 5:00pm-7:30 pm. My daughters and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and attentiveness! ❤️

On arrival, I noticed the lovely outdoor seating with a lake in the background, but since it was in the 90s, I opted for indoor dining with a pleasant view of the lake. William, an efficient and personable server, explained the happy hour options, and when asked, suggested the carne asada entree which I had intended to order. Their margarita was excellent as I awaited my entree, and when it arrived, it was delightful, well prepared and flavorful. The carne asada was accompanied by a very suitable black beans and rice side. Since I was celebrating an anniversary, the restaurant graciously offered a complimentary dessert, and I selected the tres leches cake which was also delicious. The only drawback was the very loud music throughout the evening, but the food, service, and ambiance overcame the thumping rhythm.

I have a hard time calling this a Mexican restaurant. Short of tacos there wasn’t much else. The guacamole was bland with chunks of avocado that weren’t mashed. The chips were tasteless. The service was great.
