Cool-ish evening out on the deck right at sunset. We decided to eat out on the deck and were glad we did. The sunset was beautiful, the server Brittany was great, and the chowder was excellent as always. We both had the atlantic salmon piccata which came out very hot, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Great evening, so glad we went out. We go there fairly often, the quieter fall (less crowds) was nice.

Every bite of our meal and sip of our drinks was perfect. With the sun setting, we enjoyed a great meal with awesome service (thanks, Erin!). This place is a must visit.

Extensive menu, plus a big selection of daily specials. The food was fantastic, and our server Aveline was superb. We are eager to return!

I visited Breakwater a few times when I was in the area a couple of years ago, and while it will always offer unbeatable views, I don't remember being so impressed with the food as I was this last time. My order was simple -- 6 littlenecks on the half shell and a caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The little necks were cold, tender, and perfectly shucked, and it's at least twice as hard to shuck a clam as it is to shuck an oyster. Also, the caesar salad, while small, was the best I have had in a long time -- it came as an intact half-head of perfectly crisp romaine, topped with excellent dressing, shaved parm, and a single anchovy. It was truly delicious and fresh and also came with a small cracker smeared with roasted garlic. I would go back there again in a heartbeat and order the same, possibly with a bowl of bisque because I did leave a little hungry but didn't feel like spending more than $60 on lunch (I had two beers).

Our meal was excellent. I had a seafood dish of shrimp and scallop with rice. The favors were delicious. My husband had a salad with chicken and fresh vegetables. He also was very pleased with the favors. We would highly recommend Breakwater Restaurant.
