We tried SF’s hottest new seafood restaurant in the Inner Sunset. From their shareables menu, we started with the bloody mary oysters and surf and turf crudo which were fresh and flavourful What we came for was the sea bream sashimi. We were their first customer to try the summer version dressed in tomato paste and basil oil that was light and didn’t overpower the fish. My personal fave was the shiitake and lobster fricassee with a creamy umami sauce so good we ordered bread to sop it up. And lastly for dessert, we finished off with a fresh strawberry meringue. We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Cache! We tried the mushroom, mushroom and duck crepes, oysters, eggs Benedict, a croissant with crab meat, and mussels. Everything was delicious except the mussels, which were a little disappointing. The wine selection was good, too. The pistachio crème brûlée was absolutely amazing—the highlight of our meal!

Food needed some more seasoning (salt) and some dishes needed some reworking. Sommelier and service were excellent and the ambiance was very inviting and calming.

I booked a table at Cache for my partner’s birthday, and we had a wonderful experience. The ambiance is charming and perfect for either a romantic date night or a gathering with friends. The food was delicious and featured great seasonal highlights. Overall, it’s a fantastic value for the quality. A special shoutout to the young guy who served us—his enthusiasm and great energy made the celebration even better.

Cache French bistro is a very welcome addition to San Francisco and has tremendous potential. Modern style yet at the same time quite classic French techniques with some regional flavors that you don't really get anywhere else. Simple at its core, and a majority of courses have nuanced textures and seasonings that work well, and go well with wine, particularly in the style of natural, organic, biodynamic range that is popular these days. There is one area of improvement, where one staff member spoke a bit too softly while introducing the sauce of one dish (the sea bream sashimi), and subsequently when staff brought out the dish, they mostly stopped introducing them and giving them brief descriptions. So it was just placed at the table then walk away, which is kind of odd. I'm the type who is curious enough to know what it is I am eating, and want to know beyond the menu descriptors. I'm happy to re-visit again and hope this is addressed in the future. It's a small detail that is easily rectified that would improve the experience greatly. Regardless, the food here is great, even the desserts. Sometimes we crave simplicity with flair, a somewhat low key feel neighborhood gem and destination, because sometimes fine dining can be tiring and overplayed, and Cache does deliver on that.
