Chair 6 is a highly acclaimed and popular restaurant located in Lake Placid Village. Following fourteen extremely successful years as one of the most impressive and highly recognized farm-to-table restaurant Chair 6 now focuses primarily on the catering of parties and events. Chef and Owner, Charlie Levitz is highly recognized for his comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both International and traditional American cuisine. The ambitious menu that is offered through Chair 6 consists of only the freshest ingredients and is only made possible through the strong connections that Chef Charlie Levitz has made with local fishermen, farmers and purveyors. Dishes include a variety of risottos, pasta, seafood and salads.

After a long day driving and watching a hockey game Chair 6 was a welcome retreat. The food was out of sight delicious from soup to dessert. Beautifully prepared with interesting twists and sauces.

Chair 6 is in the south end of Lake Placid, NY, away from the crowds on Main Street. They have only a handful of tables, but this allows the staff to focus on a small number of patrons at a time. Service is friendly & very attentive, menu selections are varied, portions are appropriate, and the dishes are noteworthy in presentation & flavor. If you want a good meal but at an every day affordable price, you should look elsewhere in town. But I would recommend Chair 6 for couples or a small group celebrating a special event or anniversary.

What a great place! Chair 6 is very small but the food is very big. Really nice menu, from New Age pasta dishes to fish, chicken and beef...I had soup that was out of this world and the salads were very creative. It's not cheap--our bill for 2 with a $40 bottle of wine was over $100--but it was worth it...some of the best food in Lake Placid. Make a reservation...it's small, so it can be tough to get into.

From the time we go to Chair 6 to the time we left, we had excellent service. We were greeted as soon as we opened the door and never had a down time where someone wasn't checking in on us to see how things were. The food was absolutely hands down amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection.

We went for the Why Not Wednesday Special 3 course dinner as we had never dined here before. The price was outstanding for three courses and the meal was perfectly and elegantly prepared. We had beef tenderloin with a wild mushroom demi-glace cooked exactly to our order of med-rare. The grilled asparagus was crisp yet flavorful. My husband had a thick butternut squash bisque with sauteed apples and I had a red lentil salad. For dessert we had a local cake rolled with ice cream and frosted with buttercream. The food is locally sourced and noted on the menu. The dining room is tiny but warm and pleasant . We would definitely go back again next time we are in Lake Placid

This place never ceases to amaze. The menu was designed very thoughtfully, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The service was great: very warm and attentive. Every recommendation was spot on. Will return here when we visit Lake Placid again!
