Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Reston
Been there a number of times and the food is always good. They have a great wine selection from the Coopers Hawk family of wines with wine a tasting bar in the front and a nice bar area with all the sports you need.
Our reservation was forgotten about. Service was not great, but that seemed to be odd for CHW, I think the server had too many tables.
Great girl’s night!
Excellent food and near top notch service. We enjoy Cooper's Hawk very much!
I have never had anything at Coopers Hawk that I didn’t love. Food is always excellent!!!!!
Great experience would go again. Wine and food were excellent.
The food was excellent.
I'd recommend with the caveat of keeping it light and simple. Great, friendly Service, Great Wine service and Cocktail program, and it's a value for what they are serving. Hands down. Appetizers were of very good quality, composition and generous proportions. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the entrees. Two out of Three that arrived at the table were substandard in the above categories. Steer clear of the Steak medallions or Grouper unless you are on an extreme diet or VERY light eater, as anyone expecting more will be disappointed. The Chicken dish my wife had was good and plentiful and was the saving meal as it made up for the two other tiny portions that were presented, so we gobbled up what she couldn't finish. In short, I'd go back. But I'd probably dine at the bar and just get apps. I bet their lunches and salads are good. I'd just steer clear if you're expecting to be wowed by a center of the plate main course.
How many ways can you say GREAT all the way around??
From the friendly greeting with the daily wine, to the knowledgeable server during our tasting to a delicious lunch of lobster bisque and salad, everything was wonderful.
Our waiter was enthusiastic but not overbearing and gave wonderful meal suggestions. The food was scrumptious! Top marks for the crispy brussel sprouts app.
We were a party of 6. Per reservation, our table was ready shortly after arrival. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was very good; our party ordered different things and everyone was pleased with their order. It was a bit noisy for holding conversations, but all-in-all, everyone said they had a great time. Several folks, including me, said we would visit Cooper's Hawk again.
You can never go wrong going to Coppers Hawk. Arrive early and enjoy a taste of a wine that you have not tried before. Going there is treating yourself well”!
Great place for after work or friends. Food is very good. Service was quite slow. We had a table of six 3 of whom were elderly so it was very difficult for conversation due to the noise level.
Absolultely...great food (had a burger this time and it was fantastic) and a fun wine tasting experience.
We were disappointed to have to wait 45 minutes past our reserved time to be seated, but, frankly, doing the wine tasting while waiting is a fun way to pass the time. Our group shared a variety of appetizers, a bottle of wine, and a dessert and it turned out being so reasonable in terms of cost. One of my favorite places in Reston.
Have been wine club members for years - this time the service was fantastic - Jordan was the best server that we have ever had - he was very professional, welcoming and fun. He made the experience great! Love the Life Balance menu.
Our first time at a Cooper’s Hawk restaurant. The restaurant and bar were packed on a Tuesday night! Mostly a professional working group crowd. Service was excellent! The wine was excellent. The food was good.
Noise level is deafening can’t hear the person next to you.
Food good, service erratic and slow to get the drink order, had to go find the waiter, nice but not on top of things.
Great food, friendly staff and wine make for a great afternoon!
Great customer. No wait time for a table. The waiter was outstanding.
We love Cooper’s Hawk, but the impeccable service that initially attracted us, is really starting to fall off. From distracted and inexperienced wine tasting staff to forgetful severs, the overall service is declining.
Went for an early dinner, with reservations. Really surprised at how crowded it was for 5:00 pm on a Saturday. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer was as good as I have had anywhere. The wine seemed fairly priced. For entrees we had the Barramundi (similar if not identical to Sea Bass) and the vegetarian risotto. Our Barramundi was cooked perfectly; the Lemongrass sauce was a perfect complement. It was served with a mildly flavored ginger rice, which was fine, but ordinary. The vegetarian risotto was a big hit. We were early so we sat at the bar. Liked the bartender so much, we ate dinner there! Going back on Wednesday.
The food was very good. However, the appetizer we ordered was not what we were accustomed too. According to the wait staff, the Shrimp Wrap menu had changed. Would be nice to have it come back to the original item. Also, the chicken dinner ordered did not come with the vegetable that was to come with the meal.
Other than that, the food was delicious.
As always a great meal. Hostess was excellent, spending a few extra seconds at the table to review details.
First time there; aside for having to wait about 10 past our reservation time, EVERYTHING was excellent! Looking forward to returning to try out their tastings & social events.
Great wine, and great food. A good place for business and pleasure, I would highly recommend it.
I've never had a bad meal here! Food Amazing, great wine and service is lovely!
We had a great experience..We enjoyed our Valentines Day..
Always good times at Coopers Hawk!@
We expected the place to be packed for Valentine’s Day (and it was). However, they seated us quickly, our food came quickly and was delicious, and we could hold a lovely conversation throughout our meal.
Food is always delicious! Customer service was excellent. Our waiter had some good recommendations. He recommended an appetizer we had never had. It was delicious!!
My wife and I went to the Cooper’s Hawk location in Reston on 02/13/2020 (we were about 10 minutes late to our reservation), they were accommodating and sat us almost immediately.
We sat down and talked amongst ourselves, for 27 minutes before we were greeted by Shanice who asked “if someone had come by yet” we let her know that no one had. She apologized and immediately took our order for appetizers, tasters for the wine and our dinner. She must have communicated our wait time to the manager who came over and apologized to us for the experience so far.
The wait time was long but we didn’t notice it, and Shanice was absolutely amazing - we weren’t having a bad experience by any means - wait times happen, and the person that was assigned to our section had called in sick.
We both chose the brussel sprout appetizer (fantastic if you’ve never had it - it’s a must) and their salmon dish - again, amazing. Shanice also explained about their wine program/ club to which we joined later that evening.
In closing Shanice took an experience that was on the decline and turned it around completely with her pleasantness, attitude and personality - she single handedly turned out night into one that we will always remember!
In closing if you are going to the Reston Cooper’s Hawk dining location, request Shanice - an outstanding addition to their team!
It was a big group double Birthday lunch. We had a great lunch, and a fun time. Our waiter managed all our demands, with grace. He was awesome!
Met my sister for lunch and our food was fantastic. Dana's chicken, the wedge salad and steak flatbread appetizer was super yummy. Cooper
