Cured, el primer y muy esperado gastropub inaugurado en diciembre de 2013 por el chef Steve McHugh, se encuentra en un edificio de otro siglo que perteneció a la sede presidencial de la famosa Pearl Brewing Company. El chef cuenta con más de 10 años de experiencia en Nueva Orleans como jefe de cocina del chef John Besh, seguidos por otros 2 años en Lüke, en San Antonio. Sin embargo, su mayor logro ha sido vencer su batalla contra el cáncer. Después de ese triunfo que le cambió la vida, McHugh abrió el restaurante Cured, en honor a su hazaña, así como a los cortes de res añejados que cuelgan a la vista de los clientes. Su propio proceso de curación se intensificó gracias al uso de ingredientes puros y metodología práctica. El menú del restaurante parte de cero con productos de temporada y ofrece platillos como menú como los agnolotti de patata dulce con azúcar moreno, bourbon y salvia o el cerdo cocinado a fuego lento con andouille (embutido francés) y okra. McHugh ha encontrado la manera de ofrecer su gastronomía mediante la donación de 1 USD de cada pedido de la charcutería a una organización benéfica diferente cada trimestre.

As always, Cured was a fantastic experience! The food never disappoints, the service is impeccable, and the environment is relaxing for a wonderful meal. Today was a special occasion as my uncle was in town and had never been. The server went above and beyond to make lunch special. If I could give 10/10, I would.

We had a good waiter and the support staff were attentive. For the price point of the different options available as entres I expect better quality. The lamb dish was warm and very chewy/tough. Everyone liked the chicken and my wife’s salmon was probably the best plate. The charcuterie was excellent. Deserts were delicious. Thanks,

Came for our 10th anniversary dinner. Charcuterie board is a must. We were surprised how well everything tasted together. The board is pretty big. My wife and I shared it and a meal. The drinks were tasty as well. Would come back

I was very underwhelmed by the food and service. First off the $65 charcuterie board should at least come with labeling so we could verify what each item is. Saying it all when dropping on the table hardly helps because there are so many ingredients. Each one did not taste that special. Also the empanadas and pork belly tacos were delicious but for only two pieces for almost $20 seemed ridiculous. Steak and frites was good but nothing to write home about. Lastly our server who was nice needs to learn how to pour wine because he kept dripping everywhere. And he was also very slow. Saw him constantly standing around. Especially towards the end as we were trying to leave. Overall couldn’t understand all the hype. Sad I spent all this money for my birthday dinner.

I’ve been fortunate to have been able to come here many times over the years but now I can recount why I hadn’t been here for a few years. My family is very into the food scene of San Antonio and always has been, and I remember the first time my family went because it was without me. They brought me just a little bit of leftover Pork Cheek Poutine and I knew I needed to go with them next time. From then on it was almost a staple for our family. Birthdays and anniversaries and graduations were all celebrated with some delicious charcuterie and wonderful drinks. But over the years the portions went up in price and down in size, which I understand and don’t particularly care about, but the greatest grievance Comes down to the drop in quality as well. Cured went from a restaurant where charcuterie was beautifully and masterfully plated with intention. To a place where you get poorly paired jams and mustard slopped onto a plate with chicken liver mousse and I cannot hear my partner talking to me from 2 feet away because “the chef likes the music like this” (blaring). The ambiance is gone. Quality is gone. Service is excellent despite everything. But this most recent experience was the death knell for what has effectively been a decade at Cured.

This is a must-visit restaurant while in San Antonio. We were celebrating a special occasion and just the right amount of attention and care was given to our group to recognize it (not over the top but just right). The food was amazing! The story behind the chef is a wonderful read, and we had great service by our waiter Logan B. Thank you for a very memorable and tasty evening!

I just happened to make it for one of the best happy hours I’ve ever been to. I highly recommend the kale salad and quail legs. Everything, including the happy hour wine, was delicious.

Cured is fantastic. Repeat customer and will continue to visit. The menu is always a hit - staples and variation too depending on the season and I’m sure other factors - which we love because there are good classics as standbys while also new options to try every time. The charcuterie is the best in Texas particularly the meats (of course); pork butter! Incredible. Cocktails never disappoint; Marfa Lights Out is my absolute favorite. Also important to note the service is incredible at every level from front of house through to kitchen; everyone is helpful, kind, informed. Chefs are so good about allergies and work with our servers every time to ensure my husband doesn’t eat anything he’s allergic to (it’s a very long list!). Five stars all around.

Such a creative menu, loved the BOT sandwich. Also enjoyed the Boudin Empanadas and the Doughnut Bread Pudding for dessert. Great bar menu, too.

The restaurant was perhaps 50% full and was still loud. The brick and hard surfaces are aesthetically pleasing, but some integrated sound proofing would help.

Love this place but all of the meat we ordered was dry and overcooked. My father ordered his steak rare and it was medium to medium well. While it was still all flavorful and tasty, it would have been much better if all meat would have been taken off a few minutes earlier.
