El Guapo

First time visiting and I had a great experience. Hope was amazing and very patient with us as we wanted to celebrate and have great drinks. She was quick and fun to be around! It was so good, our boyfriends came back two days later to eat again. The food was great, and we ordered a bunch! Would definitely come back for the great service and authentic Mexican food and margs!

The food and service were great. It was fun to have a mariachi band playing but they were WAY too loud. It was impossible to talk so we left sooner than we probably would have

This restaurant was a great surprise. It is a open dining room, but it is still very easy to have conversation. The decor is really cool. Hope was our server and she was excellent! It is Latin Cuisine with a Mexican twist. We started with Margaritas, I had the prickly pear, my friend had mango, delicious! Lots tequila to choose from. We had the Duck Quesadilla, and it was so good! I had nachos for my dinner and they did not disappoint. My friend had the Chicken Skewers over cauliflower rice(this is where the Latin comes in) There is no skimping on portions. It was a delightful experience. You should go!

P.S. appetizers and house Margaritas are half price on weekends

The food was outstanding! The carne asada was to die for. Went for dinner then back the next day for brunch!

Every time I eat here, I try something different. My dining companion, who is vegan found several things he liked as well. Food is so good and service was great. Looking forward to one day getthing through the whole menu!

Food is just never consistent. Went when they first opened and it was delicious. Received awful meals 3 times after that. It is a shame because the menu is so promising. Disappointed similarly to State Fare. So I won’t be looking forward to the 3rd restaurant opening in the restaurant group.

Food and service were excellent. Ashley was attentive and friendly. The pork burrito and steak/shrimp fajitas were both so good. Churros were a lot, definitely enough to share with several people. Can't wait to go back and try other things.

Food was good, margarita was AMAZING! Love the idea of the table at the bar so we can still get the 'sitting at the bar' feeling.

Three out of four in our party loved their food and drink choices and we all loved the homemade salsa, chips and amazing queso. Fabulous margarites too! Will be back for sure.

Nice variety of tasty food that offers something different than the usual Mexican fare. Chips and salsa were excellent as was the sops elote, chorizo cazuela and steak tacos. Papusas and duck carnitas tacos were good.

This was our first time visiting. The restaurant and bar look great. When COVID is in our rear view mirror, I'm sure the bar will be packed and the comprehensive Tequila selection very much appreciated. Even though the restaurant was relatively empty due to COVID, we were seated somewhat close to there tables, and it was a bit noisier then I would typically prefer. That would be my only gripe on the evening.

The service was good. Our waiter helped us select delicious drinks, apps and entrees. I can't comment on the deserts because we were all too stuffed to partake.

The food is the real star here. Everything we had was unique and delicious. That is not an easy find with this type of cuisine. I think it is easy to open a Mexican restaurant with good food. However to open one with great food at a reasonable price is special. It appears that El Guapo might be on to something here. Hopefully the food quality stays this way moving forward.

On anther note, the Gluten Free options seam to be somewhat limited. Typically Mexican cuisine allows for more Gluten Free options. Unfortunately this will limit our ability to enjoy El Guapo with my whole family. Gluten Free chips, tacos, rice and beans would have us eating here once a week.

Was super disappointed after hearing all the great things people were saying. Food was meh at best. Service OK. It is American Mexican food. Not very good or exciting.

Food is fresh, delicious, and absolutely FULL of flavor. Killer margaritas, good ambiance, and super friendly staff. Chicken enchiladas were an instant favorite. Prickly pear margarita was great albeit sweet - will have to ask for a salted rim next time around. Krystal recommended the tres leches cake for dessert and it was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back!

The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We were greeted and sat immediately. Our waiter was attentive, without being overbearing and the food was very good. We will definitely eat there again. So glad we have a good Mexican restaurant in Catonsville!

Food was pretty good. Ambience needs some work but overall happy about this new spot in Catonsville.

We were disappointed

Waited over an hour for our food. Manager told us our order was lost in the kitchen and it would be coming out shortly and would be hot. when the food finally arrived, it was room temperature at best. Manager offered a round of drinks on the house, which was nice. This restaurant is new and needs a little more time to get it together.

1st time here & everything was great! Nice COVID preparation. House margarita was AMAZING! Bacon wrapped chicken app was awesome! Chips/salsa delish! Chicken skewers yum! Love it being served on riced cauliflower! Only real food issue was the pork tacos were a little dry but everything else was awesome!

My date and I enjoyed our tacos and quesadilla and the waitress was very attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Excellent food, got the birria tacos and queso fundido. Killer margarita. Cool space with an unbelievable tequila and mezcal selection.

Such a refreshing menu with authentic food. Great drinks, great food, and attentive service!! Usually restaurants are a bit 'off' when they first open. Everyone seemed so prepared - from the hostess to the server to the kitchen staff. Great visit.

Tried El Guapo for the first time since they opened last week and it was great. We just moved to the area and we’re looking for our “go-to restaurant”, happy to say we found it. Drinks were great, definitely recommend the pear margarita. We ordered the Nachos and they were delivered without the toppings, it took the server two seconds to notice it and take them back without us saying anything. Overall food was great and the cleanliness was great in times of covid.

I understand this restaurant just opened so we didn’t complain while at the restaurant. This is merely for feedback purposes. The server was great, only issues was a mistake with charging a certain menu item but she corrected it. The margaritas were probably what stood out the best. They were amazing! The food however was sub par. We ordered fajitas and they came out cold and the vegetables were not sautéed like you typically get with fajitas. The tortillas were hard in some spots and also cold and bland. Again, we chalked it up to just opening. We will give it another shot in a few months.
