Me and my wife went here on Father’s Day and everything was great the food was delicious and the ambiance was on point will definitely be back soon

The waitstaff were wonderful and the restaurant is very clean. Restroom was clean and stocked. They allow us to enter through the side door so my aunt would not have to walk far with cane. It’s been awhile since visiting my home state and I was disappointed with the flat salty crab cakes. Don’t get me wrong it was 100% crab meat unlike the Southern states. It just fell short for me with the dried out capers and wilted greens.

We were seated promptly at a great round table and server was attentive. As it got busy (Mother’s Day) we were not able to find her to pay, but we left with check in desk staff who were very friendly and hustling! Food was outstanding! 6 of us all loved our appetizers, entree and desserts. Always a favorite when we are passing through Hamden!

Kitchen was slow. We got there at 12:10p, didn’t get out drinks until 12:30p. Apps were good and came out within 15min but the main course did’t get to us until 50min later. It took us about 12-20min to get our check.

Arrived on time and was greeted warmly, our server Luke was very good, filled us in on everything we needed to know. Never rushed at all and had a very nice Easter lunch

From the time we sat down to the end of dinner, we had to wait 10min for our drinks, 50 min for our dinner. I finally asked the manager what the holdup was, he checked and we finally got our dinner but not before our order had to be clarified! This has happened the last 3 times we’ve been there, we will no longer patronize this restaurant. We have been going there for many years, definitely going down hill the last 2 years.

Eli's Orange on the Boston Post Road in Orange will close April 28. The Eli's Restaurant Group says other locations, including Eli's on Whitney, will stay open and gift cards can be redeemed at remaining spots; a customer celebration is planned from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
