Our first and last time dining here. We were very disappointed by our experience. When we arrived, we were greeted by the bartender who sat us at a table. Before saying anything else, she pointed out they were out of 5+ drinks off their cocktail/mocktail menu. Almost 20 minutes later, she returned. We had closed our menus 15 minutes prior to signify we were ready to order. She grabbed the menus off the table, and the one out of my boyfriends hand and tucked them under her arms before saying “what do you want.” Both of us were quite startled, and while we planned on ordering apps and extra sides, we could only remember our mains. The bartender/hostess/waitress looked at us as though we were crazy when we placed our order (coconut curry shrimp and Jamaican style curry chicken). She then said “I’m the only one on tonight.” She did not ask us if we wanted to order anything else, simply walked away. When our food arrived, it was delicious. We have no complaints with the cooking. However, it was at this time that the waitress asked if we wanted to order anything else or get some drinks. We were so bummed out by the poor service that we said no thanks. That was the last time we saw our hostess/bartender/waitress. She did not ask us at any point how the food was or if we wanted more water. Hint: YES, we wanted more water, especially since this is the only thing we were drinking. We noticed other tables received “normal sized” water glasses AND water pitches but this was not given to us. Because of the lack of a drink, I could not eat even half of my dish due to the spice level. Most people raved about the food (as did we!) but said service was terrible. Our biggest complaint of the evening? Our bill was $42. The receipt listed 20% gratuity for $70 or more tabs. The staff member added a 20% tip automatically, and suggested an additional tip (laughable). We paid $54 in cash, and did not receive the box I asked for. We left disappointed and will not return again.

The food was great - particularly the wings and the oxtail sliders. The goat curry could have been more spicy and hotter in temperature. The atmosphere is still mostly leftover from Modern Malt - nice dinner. The staff was friendly but our server was inexperienced. The drinks were a disaster. The worst cocktails I have had in Syracuse. After one round, we switched to wine (tried). When we asked for a wine list, the server brought us a special menu which had some wine pairings. One of which was identified as a Pinot Noir - we asked for a bottle but they did not have such a thing and she seemed confused by the request. So we just got four glasses - which contained ice cold wine (awful). Clearly out of a box that was stored in the walk-in. So good for the food - skip the drinks or maybe have a rum and coke.

The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The restaurant had a great selection of food and including some specialty drinks!
